Magnet replied to SimonJX's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
Well spotted Brian. OK, extra cost but spend once and wisely. Many thanks for pointing this out. Kind regards, Gareth. -
Apologies Renato - back to wheels. Some of the information you need maybe found on the label inside the fuel flap. Kind regards, Gareth.

Audi, A3, Hatchback, 2003 FOR SALE
Magnet replied to Mike Jenkins's topic in Audi Cars for Sale and Wanted
Hello Michael, You were asked weeks ago to add a price to your advert, but you haven’t. Could you please now let us know:- Has the car been sold? If not, what is your asking price? Please don’t let the Welsh side down! Thanks. -
Welcome Forbes, Pardon my ignorance, but are these pipes metal or flexible? If metal, could you give us the outside diameter please. A photo would be great, so we have a better idea of what you need. Why do they need changing? Kind regards, Gareth.
-
Thanks Andy - understand, but sometimes life is about just living the dream, rather than just thinking too much about the dream. Kind regards, Gareth.

Normally attached to the inside end of the valve - inside the tyre. Your local tyre supplier will be your best source of specific information. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. I like to address replies by the person’s name. Would you be kind enough to amend your profile to include your name for us. Many thanks.

I take it Richard is referring to his petrol fuel consumption. Diesel rather better. This is some large vehicle - costly to buy - and I would have thought there would be few prospective owners who would be too concerned about fuel consumption, when all other costs are taken into consideration. Responses from members on here:- exactly what I was indicating Richard. It’s all very well for owners to post pleas for help, but would I be considered to be too critical to state that not subsequently helping others- such as Andy, in this case - is downright selfish. Having said that, it is what it is, and I’m totally in equipped to change it. Anyway, many thanks Richard for your contribution. Kind regards, Gareth.

Audi A5 TDI 2018 Convertible - improving mpg?
Magnet replied to Steve 135's topic in Audi A4 (B8) Forum
Thanks Steven, I now understand. Sounds like you need to take advice from a recognised and respected mapping specialist. If you do decide to investigate that route, it would be well worth having a word with your insurers before committing. OK, probably just me, but convertibles aren’t usually bought for performance - more for relaxing and smelling the flowers with the hood down! -
OK, as it is:- We have c25 pages of posts generally seeking help with issues associated with their Q5s, so obviously quite a significant number of owners. Surely, there must be some members who just might be prepared to return a little help to others, and provide some useful advice to Andy. Not too much to ask in return?? Forums should not be a one way valve to accept help with issues, and then not return experiences to help others. Many thanks for being able to assist Andy. Gareth.

Well there we are then Renato. Now you need to search EBay to look for the handbook pack. Really shouldn’t be without it with such ma quality car.

Many thanks for coming back Russell, As Cliff says then. I think I would still get the battery efficiency checked rather than just renewing it. Halfords shops will do that. Well worth checking in case someone has succeeded in by passing the abominable s/s system by some means! If it is below par, I always ‘invest’ in a good make replacement. I’ve recently been using Exide Premium batteries bought from Tayna Batteries ( mail order) at competitive prices - no connection and there are numerous other suppliers. Not sure if VAG are still using Varta/Bosch, so that would be another alternative if so. Perhaps you could could keep us updated Russell. Kind regards, Gareth.
-
Hello Russel, ‘…….recently bought ..’ might hold a clue. Probably been sitting around on a sales site for some time, and now needs some regular use to bring the battery up to its best. If it were mine, I would be running around in it for a couple of weeks and see if it then starts working. But there again, if indeed it were mine, I would be hoping it remains dormant. S/s is the most engineering averse system to ‘sell’ to the poor unsuspected motoring population. Kind regards, Gareth.

Audi A5 TDI 2018 Convertible - improving mpg?
Magnet replied to Steve 135's topic in Audi A4 (B8) Forum
Welcome Steven, In addition to Cliff’s comments, I would like to pick up on ‘…..make it run better’. Do you have concerns regarding how your particular engine is currently performing - any changes it’s performance over the time you have owned it? Kind regards, Gareth. -
Hello Renato, The answer you need will be in the handbook for your A6 - as will the all important tyre pressures. Kind regards, Gareth.
-
Back to my post of 17th August then Renato.

Able to update the forum yet Dave-?

Hello again Stephen, If you have just had the tyres renewed and not had any alignment altered to counteract the previous wear issues, then you will obviously encounter the same wear issue with this latest set. Not acceptable?? Way forward if it were mine:- set the tyre pressures to those shown in the handbook. Book an appointment with another garage/tyre retailer to get the alignment checked again. In case it helps, I use my local ATS, because they will talk things through with you, and they will check - and if necessary adjust ‘out of limits’ to counteract the current wear. I’m not claiming all ATS are great, but I’m lucky that mine are. The icing on the cake is that they ask me to return in 3 weeks and they then check again, and will make minor tweaks if necessary. I think your regime for tyre pressure checking comes under the heading of ‘could do better’ - apologies but not often enough suggests seldom if ever. TPs are all important . Why not buy yourself a £12 digital gauge from Halfords, and modify your regime to checking all cars every 2 weeks -? Well worth it. Let us know how you get on with the alternative alignment folks. Kind regards, Gareth.
-
Welcome Jeremy, I think the interior lights are activated from the door lock/s, but hopefully someone will confirm or refute that. Incidentally, where is Chubb as a location? Kind regards, Gareth.
-
Hello Stephen, Apologies for jumping in here, but it’s a bit odd to hear ‘wearing… either inner or outer edges..’ One or the other ( and possibly varying according to alignment being altered) is understandable - both? - very odd. To box it up:- wear on the inner and outer edges on one tyre, points to under inflation, as Cliff points out. How often to you check your tyre pressures? How much confidence do you have in the alignment ‘specialists’ you use? Who are they as a matter of interest? Kind regards, Gareth.

Drivers side window regulator for a3 cabriolet for 2008 mode
Magnet replied to Caz's topic in New Members Introductions
Thanks Caroline, I found quite a few options on EBay when I needed one for the A3 earlier this year. Are you seeing other models with some suppliers but not yours? If so, well worth contacting the seller re yours. I ended up buying one direct from Audi - around £140 ? Try, Audi Parts Direct at Cardiff ( part of Mon Motors - once Cardiff Audi). They were giving a bit of discount on some parts, but don’t expect much, since as I understand it, even trader discounts can be less than 10%. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Afterthought - try Autodoc. -
Hello Steve, Sorry to hear of an associated bereavement, and of course, very happy to post your advert. It’s possibly my inexperience with values of these, and sorry to point out what may turn out to be incorrect, but my basic searches point to the car price being high in comparison to others advertised - even by £10K? or more high, compared with others of not too dissimilar mileage examples - particularly for a private sale. Wondered if you might be able to post some photos to aid a sale -? Kind regards, Gareth.

Audi Quattro 2003 Power Steering Hoses where can I find?
Magnet replied to R Phillips's topic in Audi TT Club
Any particular aversion for EBay Roger? I think there is a high % of motorists who treat this as probably giving the greatest choice of parts you will find anywhere - both (majority) new and secondhand. Kind regards, Gareth.
