  1. Any update for us yet Peter?
  2. Hello All, I don’t think I’ve joined in on this topic, but can see that the problem is affecting a significant number of contributors - probably each of which is rightly taking it up with their respective dealers - in isolation. Can I suggest that every contributor on here who is affected by this, makes a PM contact with others who have posted of their issues, with a view to gathering as many into that group as possible. Once you have a sensible number in the group, someone compiles a list of say Year, Model, Reg. No., Supplying dealer, their contact details etc., and submits this block listing of complaints to Audi Customer Services. At least you would all be singing from the same hymn sheet. Anyone prepared to step forward and coordinate this? Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Welcome Kevin and thanks for joining. I don’t think the absence of the handbook pack in your car is an isolated occurrence, and seems to be not unheard of, particularly with ex lease cars, where the company leasing them can tend to hold them at their offices etc. Simple way around this is to pay a visit to your local dealer’s Parts Dept. and have a chat about what the pack should include. Make a list, then scan EBay and confirm what, if anything, is missing from that particular listing. To supplement that knowledge, someone on here will hopefully come up with a response from you. Would any/all/most A6 (of appropriate age) owners please reply to Kevin’s question - thanks. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Worth searching EBay for a copy of the appropriate sales brochure. We take it you have requested copy of the computerised service history -? Also asked for copies of invoices -? The dealer should supply them, having blanked out owner details.
  4. No I’m not sure, but you have to eliminate the battery before spending on more expensive diagnostics and repairs.
  5. Welcome Dimiat, Simple thing first - get the battery condition checked before doing anything else. Kind regards, Gareth.
  6. Did you get any further with this Daryl?
  7. Welcome Mark, ’…rarely go above 85mph….’ naughty boy - Plod will be after you, since some follow this forum! Only joking - I think. Very difficult question to answer since you are looking at the ideal - but rarely achieved - magic formula ( which might have included longevity). What end of the price scale are you concentrating on? Premium range? One of the main tyre retailers - Tyre Leaders?? - lists the ratings you enquire about from customer feedback I think. Bear in mind that your tyres will probably be XL load rating for the estate. Kind regards, Gareth.
  8. The effects of Northern rain Chris? Expect horns to be rusty if you find them there.
  9. Very often behind the front bumper - perhaps with grilles in front of them - inboard of the corners and low down. If they are there, they usually get subjected to the elements and fail.
  10. Hello Stephen, Do you have a little ‘free play’ in the pedal when you depress it? If the pedal feels normal then bleeding won’t make any difference to it slipping. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Great choice of brands Stephen.
  12. Hello and welcome Thomas, My strong advice would be not to fiddle with anything on this car, but to e-mail ( so that you have a record) the seller, and outline your concerns, and ask them to rectify the issue. If they cannot fix it to your satisfaction, then you should have an option of returning the car within 30 days for a full refund. Let’s hope they can fix it for you. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. It would be nice if you could come back to us Chris.
  14. Thanks Stephen, What was the brand of the clutch kit you were quoted for and intend to buy? Kind regards, Gareth.
  15. OK Jim, Great - you want to trace and buy back your old car, and are prepared to pay +£1000 over price for it. It’s been over 4 years since you first enquired on here, and we take it you have not had any leads from the range of members current at that time, or those current now. I guess you can now conclude on one on here knows where it is. Prepared to spend +£1000 over the top to buy it back? Recommendation:- spend part of that with a Private Investigator. That should probably get you the information you seek. Please let us know if you have any success. Regards, Gareth.
  16. Thanks Shane, Not sure of ROI prices, but c£12,800 for a 9 year old Japanese import A3 would seem a little bit heavy on the pencil to me. Kind regards, Gareth.
  17. It hasn’t been a good couple of days, but ticking over OK, so you have to try to find a bit of humour where you can - enough miserable old sods about to annoy you - so lovely to hear it’s made someone’s day. Perhaps ‘up your tank’ may have been more appropriate! Take care Steve.
  18. Got it. That’s why we are all different, and some want flat bottomed wheels to demonstrate they are indeed different!
  19. Please let us know why you want to stick these suppositories in your tank Rex?
  20. You are now being warned for engaging in Post and Run tactics, and wasting people’s time in replying and trying to help you. Any future posts will now have to be sanctioned before being listed. Moderator.
  21. Welcome Shane and thanks for joining. Bear in mind that bad news travels fast. Much faster than good news. Oil change services with auto boxes is now a must. For consideration:- someone thought it economically viable to import this 9 year old car; have been told but not confirmed - parts of Japan can suffer from high rainfall, so always check for underbody corrosion; increased insurance premiums? Price should obviously be lower than U.K. equivalent. Perhaps you could let us know what you think. Kind regards, Gareth.
  22. Thanks Ian, Boiling it down - fad! No useful reason by what I can see. Allegros? I’d much rather own half a dozen Allegros than half a dozen Audis. They are appreciating. They are simple to maintain and repair. They attract attention- if that is what anyone wants.
  23. Hello Kristian, There is really only one way to establish whether it is quantity or sensor associated. Simply drain the oil yourself, and carefully refill with the exact measured quantity of oil ( quoted capacity without filter). If you add oil to satisfy the oil level indicator, then you will never know whether it is overfilled or not. If you can only find a quoted capacity inc. filter, then you will obviously need to renew that as well. Yes expensive, but you will then have peace of mind. Kind regards, Gareth.
  24. Welcome Rex, Can I ask a simple question:- Why? Kind regards, Gareth.
