Will see if I can look it up for you tomorrow Matty.

Many thanks for the explanatory message Matty. So I think you are asking:- If I tow a trailer which is 750kg in weight, what is the maximum load I can add into the trailer to keep within the maximum recommended towing weight for a 2012 1.6 diesel A1? Just let us know if that is what you want to find out. Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Thanks for joining Victor. So what is the oldest year you will consider? What is the maximum mileage you will consider. Are you prepared to travel countrywide, or x miles of your location? Specifications preferred?

Sorry Matty - don’t understand the question. Kind regards, Gareth.
  5. Welcome Gary, and thanks for joining. If you aren’t getting a good supply to the jet, have you checked the reservoir outlet for partial blockage? Washer reservoirs are very prone to generating undesirable ‘goo’ which restricts the flow by partially blocking the feed. Also possibility of a partial fracture in the tube due to flexing where the boot opens and closes -? Kind regards, Gareth.
  6. Many thanks for your helpful suggestion Dave. Regrettably, this is just another example of meaningful/ helpful responses being offered into ‘thin air’. The OP joined on the 5th April and posted his plea for (free) help - probably at the same time of the day. I responded on the same day by asking him a valid question, and today, you have again wasted your time in offering him a useful contact. Fact:- OP joins and posts plea for help on the same day. Help is offered on two occasions, but he cannot even be bothered to revisit the forum to read the responses, leave alone offer thanks for the help given. This equals:- POST AND RUN ( no apologies for the caps). Disrespectful, rude - call it what you may. Anyway, Dave, many thanks for your help, and apologies for boring by saying it as it is. Kind regards, Gareth.
  7. Hello Boris, I agree with Clifford - keep it simple. It may also be worth having your current shell width measurements - in case asked for. The only other measurement you can do is to clamp the end cap onto the conrod, and accurately measure the internal diameter of the conrod, in case there are conrod differences from one engine batch to another. This dimension, and the crankshaft dimension would dictate the thickness of the shell bearing. Kind regards, Gareth.
  8. Welcome Tom and thanks for joining. As you say, a previous owner has upgraded the door cards, and understandably you cannot plug the fancy lights into a suitable connection in the door casing - a bit like you buying an electrical appliance for a room in your house, but there isn’t a socket in that room. Cars are now generally built with harnesses to supply the equipment for that particular model grade, and understandably not to supply ‘ anything which may be part of a higher specification’. Way forward:- leave well alone, or try to get the corresponding plug from the upgraded model, and carryout the necessary harness connections and wiring to suit. You would of course need to know what you about with such things. Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. Welcome Lucian, and thanks for joining. It’s worth searching LLL Parts website and you might find the answer there. When you say you ‘want to buy another steering box….’ do you intend to buy genuine VAG, an aftermarket from a specialist reconditioner ( have you contacted any of them?) or a secondhand one? Kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Hello John, Apologies for another angle on this where it might be worth you doing a thread search on here for similar issues - well documented as I recall. Of course the verdict will rest with Audi’s assessment. Coincidences do occur, but let’s hope yours isn’t an example of that, and the fault is due to accident damage . However, worth being armed with some knowledge on this. Perhaps you can let us know what happens John. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Hello Jamie, Now sounds that only an absolute side by side comparison between old and new will resolve the difference. It’s probably me, but the tint vs. new glass seems minor-ish - and I can be a fussy devil! Still, you are 3/4 of the way down the line now, and Audi have to sort out whatever the difference twixt the two is. Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Hello Jamie, Possibility that the offending door has been changed at some time?? Why the very expensive route of privacy glass rather than tint (to the degree of tint you want)? Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Hello Robert, Hope your wife’s health problems turn out to be minor and fairly easily fixable. Best wishes from us folks on here.
  14. Hello Benn, It would be nice to see you return to the forum, and for us to hear your opinion on what advice has been given. It seems you posted your plea on 4th July, and it doesn’t appear that you have returned since that day. Please don’t be a ‘post and run’ member Benn - we do try to be helpful on here, and are happy to spend our time doing that for members. Kind regards, Gareth.
  15. Any of the above any help to you Steve?
  16. Welcome Jay, Can’t be certain on yours, but there is usually an indented ( partly cut through) piece in the boot side covering near to the back of the light. If you flip this open, it normally reveals a longish bolt which screws into the lamp - be very careful it doesn’t fall down behind the side covering! Once this is out, the light can then be pull out a bit to reveal a plastic sort of ball and socket arrangement to the front end of the lamp. Carefully pull this away from the bodywork to remove the light unit. Probably well worth checking on You Tube for your particular model. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.m
  17. Blinking heck John. Chewing-mice are devils. We live a bit out in the country, and a neighbour had his motor home fuel supply chewed through, and the same with another vehicle there at the time. Someone told him that to become more environmentally respectful, certain plastics are manufactured from ‘more tasty’ constituents rather than the chemical based plastics that were. The little mices love it! True?? Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. Hello, I have just listed the above APEC spring - part no. ACS 1211 on EBay. This is in an unopened box, and is listed with a Buy it Now price of £8.99 + p&p. Many thanks, Gareth.
  19. Hello Marc, Deutscheparts on EBay are listing …..CB at £130 odd. You may find CC etc are simply updated part numbers for the same part. On the other hand, they make be an actually modification of the earlier CB, so I guess you take your chance. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Maybe worth contacting Audi Parts Direct ( part of Mon Motors - once Cardiff Audi) they have been known to offer a little discount off retail - although, by what I understand from the trade, their discount is now often below 10%. Let us know how you get on Marc.
  20. Welcome Stefan, Have you Googled ‘ Car audio specialists’ in your area? Kind regards, Gareth.
  21. Hello Robert, Back to first principles:- Was it built with Keyless entry? Answer will lie at your main dealer, if you go in with your V5. Talking nicely with the Parts chap should provide you with a build record for your VIN. I would not attempt this over the phone - needs a visit in person. Kind regards, Gareth.
  22. Hello Paul, Welcome, thanks for joining, and sorry to read of your issue. To attempt to answer/ explain some the points you have raised. Is a clutch assembly classed as a (fair) wear and tear item? Yes. Is it unreasonable that a (10 year old) 56K car should suffer clutch wear? - I would say debatable, since this car has averaged only 5.6K/a, suggesting that it has been used on short journeys where the clutch is likely to have been used far more than say an example which has covered twice that mileage on much longer runs - hence it will have worn more despite its low mileage. I’m in the same camp as Cliff, and unfortunately I feel you might have quite a legal task on your hands to make a claim for this, but…… ‘Took it in for a service…’ Where Paul? Main dealer, independent, local garage? Have you sort a second opinion - say at an independent Audi specialist? If not, that would be my first port of call. Are you hearing, or have you heard any noise from this flywheel? Perhaps you could come back to us Paul. Kind regards, Gareth.
  23. Seems daft that it hasn’t sold Steve. Having said that, I offered a new Audi cambelt kit on here some time ago, and no one seemed interested. If I were you, I’d list it on EBay, where you are likely to get more reaction. Kind regards, Gareth.
  24. L.A. - a long way from Essex, and why is your desktop coming up with that? Sounds as troublesome as the car Jonathan is thinking about!
  25. I must qualify this by making it clear that I’m not certain on this, so please do your own checking and searching. I’ve been told by someone in the battery supply business, that Lion batteries will now be supplied under the Starline brand, so if you are considering buying a Starline battery, you may (in caps) be buying a Lion battery. Whatever, please do your own digging for detail. Kind regards, Gareth.
