  1. Welcome Paul and thanks for joining. No doubt you would know, or be able to find out if all three are identical or not. If they are identical - option:- Buy one from Audi, then buy 2 matched tensile strength ones from on-line suppliers such Kay’s. Appreciating that buying from Audi will not be the most economical route, it will be the safest, and factoring in the labour-free DIY replacing, it’s always better to ‘invest’ in the known correct parts. Kind regards, Gareth.
  2. Thanks and welcome David, Probably better to now post specific issues under the A6 section. Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Hello Alan, If you click on your profile logo, it should list your posts there. Kind regards, Gareth.
  4. Apologies for the rant, but this Post and Run attitude is beginning to get to me, along with those who join, post a question, return to the forum - presumably to read the replies that regular contributors have spent time and consideration replying to, and then Zilch - no response - boo bar kiss my posterior! Possibly just me-? but is it time to consider introducing a bit of programming to alert non responders to respond, and if no responses in x time, delete their membership, and flag them for needing approval if returning to the forum seeking help at sometime in the future? Similar for those who find it difficult to acknowledge helpful responses with at least ‘Like’ a thread response - ? I appreciate that what was once common decency can get diluted over the generations, but I’m sorry to say that in comparing experiences on other forums, this one would rank very high in it’s apparent ingratitudes! Last bit for the moment:- the clever dickies who think completing their profile before posting is not for them to waste their time on:- consider completing every profile field a necessity. Yes, I know the possibility of inputting any rubbish, but….. OK, rant over. Was it worth it??? Will anything change for the better?? Don’t know. The rest of my day is definitely going to be positive! Peed-off-at-the-moment, Gareth.
  5. Notice you have been back to the forum Tom - answer for us?
  6. I have found that you can’t always depend on on-line factor data to clearly identify the exact year Steve. Even my preferred Parts in Motion comes up with inaccurate dating on occasions Steve (Q). Apologies, but I’m afraid I’ve joined Confused.com on this one!
  7. I don’t think I can say anything more constructive! Got to give up now.
  8. Sorry Steve, but I’m beginning to get a little confused, since all indications are - from your first sentence- that you aren’t positive about what model you have. The detail is coming through rather sketchy, and that isn’t helping, so please tell us:- Do you know what model you have? Do you have an existing (or remains of?) a current rear bumper to visually compare what is available on EBay? Re aftermarket bumper suppliers - have you done a Google search for such? Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. Thanks Steve, I think we are now better equipped by knowing exactly what you are looking for. I would revert to my EBay recommendation. Have you had issues with being supplied with incorrect secondhand parts via. EBay, as opposed to new-aftermarket parts? I ask, since I think it would be unlikely to find sellers of secondhand body panels paying much respect for part numbers - if indeed they will be visible at all on panels. A small amount of visual research on EBay, should narrow down the years which your model bumper fits, then you can further refine your search to things like the possibly separate lower inserts which might vary depending on exhaust differences for varying engine options. Sorry, I cannot help further, since I feel your quest for a part number may not be the answer to the maiden’s prayer for you. Having said that, I think reference to a website LLL -? may come up with something. Stevey Y on here should be more knowledgeable on this that me. Kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Thanks for coming back on this Ian, If it were mine, and having respect for my wallet, I would consider removing the car from the Audi dealers pending getting the battery efficiency checked. 25k over 5 years ‘….. don’t think it’s the battery…’ such low usage is actually just what does adversely affect batteries. Not my car Ian, so obviously I can only treat a problem as if it were mine, and go from first principles and eliminate the basics first by a no/low cost procedure. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Hello Tom, Welcome and thanks for joining. Oil for what part of the clutch Tom?? Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Hello Steve, Are you trying to buy a new bumper, a replica replacement, or a secondhand one? Re EBay:- I think most folks find it a usual search tool - particularly for secondhand - since the parts are photographed ‘as are’, so you can better judge whether it matches your requirements. Personally, I would not dismiss EBay as being a minefield. Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Hello Jeremy, Thanks for joining. I think the first port of call follows the advice already given. Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Welcome Ian, Without trawling back through all responses, and following the logic of cheaply eliminating potential causes:- How old is the battery? Does the car get regular runs? Have you had the battery efficiency checked? Halfords stores should be able to test it. It would probably be well worth your while to come back to us before committing to buy, if found to be substandard. Kind regards, Gareth.
  15. Hello Robert, Are the brake lights actually working, or not. Appreciate you have renewed all the bulbs, but sometimes there are 2 brake light bulbs per side, so although the brake lights appear to be working, only one bulb may be. Kind regards, Gareth.
  16. Wondered if you are going to return to the forum to view the help you asked for Mark?
  17. Thanks Stephen, Parkers will do a mileage-adjusted valuation for you. Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. So what tyres did you go for after Graham - or intend to go for?
  19. Repeating:- The information is at any Audi dealership, or on Autodata’s motor trade system if it goes to a registered garage for servicing. So what did Audi tell you the correct oil was?
  20. Thanks Jay. Sorry I missed your reference to the manual. As I see it, your option now lies at the dealer parts department where you go and buy yourself a litre of ‘oil’ to top up the car, then you will know what grade, and specification within grade, you really need. Possible alternative:- contact Opie Oils and armed with your reg. no. - ask them. Perhaps same question to Smith and Alan Ltd.
  21. Hello Matt, Replacing the ABS sensors on all wheels is not the way to go. Getting it plugged in to diagnostics is - to home in on the offending component. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  22. Hello Jay, The definitive answer usually lies in the Owners Handbook. Have you looked there? It could just be me, but I haven’t noticed any oil grade and specification-within-grade stickers. ‘Common to find under the hood’ - ? Just as a matter of interest:- your terminology ‘hood’ rather than bonnet - any American association? Kind regards, Gareth.
  23. Thanks Stephen, How many services has it had at Audi during its 15 years, and has it been garaged throughout its life? Engine capacity? Kind regards, Gareth.
  24. Hello Ani, Natalie hasn’t returned to the forum for over two years, so be prepared for not receiving a response. Personally, I don’t feel that this is a question of ‘has anyone else had this issue and had it resolved?’ It’s far too serious for that to be a major factor - your concern is that you get this fully resolved with a minimum of delay. If I understand it correctly in your case, this amounts to a genuine case of endangering life. Have you contacted (and subsequently written to) Audi Customer Services to formally record this issue. You would be advised to formally record this issue (in writing) with the repairing dealer. Consider notifying both that you wish to reject the vehicle. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  25. Hello Mark and welcome, Sorry but no experience of the particular model you are looking at, but some pointers for consideration:- ‘Sport’ - suggests stiffer suspension aimed at roadholding and not comfort. Size of wheels and profile of tyres? If you want the most comfortable ride, then you need to find the model with the smallest diameter wheels and the largest profile tyres e.g. 17 inch wheels and around 50 profile tyres. Larger wheels and inherent lower profile tyres will result in a compromised ride quality. The additional issue that we all find ourselves running into when choosing a vehicle is the ‘I like the look of…’ and we buy with our eyes. With your medical condition, I really think you need to approach the buying process from the same standpoint as you would buying a bed - appearance has to be very much a secondary consideration - comfort the primary. I think some of the above pointers may now have to be your primary consideration. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Check tyre markings looking for XL ( extra load). If any vehicle you look at has these, then that will also stiffen the ride quality.
