  1. Great Kevin, You will notice that most members complete their profile to include their area. So, it would be great if you could now amend your profile. Many thanks again, Gareth.
  2. The south of the U.K. covers one heck of an area Kevin! Why not alter your profile and input the actual town/city? Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Welcome John, Alternator output checked before moving on to more complex reasons? Kind regards, Gareth.
  4. Sorry Richard, this might be too direct a question, but why did you accept the car with so many of the ‘must check I have’ elements missing? Kind regards, Gareth.
  5. Hello Kevin, Appreciate you may want an internet connect with others, but it may help to be more specific with your location, Incase there is someone not too far away.
  6. Blinking heck Hanees, - I conclude you really don’t have any respect for your wallet! Kind regards, Gareth.
  7. Hello Si, Welcome and thanks for joining. Adaptor? I seriously doubt it. It would be well worth noting the part number on your original motor, and seeking a direct replacement. Have you tried EBay, and registering your ‘want’ on the on-line breaker link systems, such as Partsfinder? - there are others. Kind regards, Gareth.
  8. Hello Hanees, ’Halfords as good bet’ - Am I allowed to say no, unless you disrespect your wallet? Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. Worth describing the symptoms to Audi and taking their advice on potential costs. As I said, I would just forget about the recall, unless they can assure you it is connected with the Adblu issue.
  10. Hello Hanees, Tungstone would not have been the original battery, but it has been - still is? a bought out brand name from 2009. Having said that it appears ‘the company’ was dissolved in 2019, so your battery could be at least 5 years old, and if so is probably passed its prime. Of course Hanees, I cannot claim your symptoms are totally due to an ailing battery, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were. If you do decide to renew it, I’ve bought Exide Premium from Tayna Batteries ( no connection with the company) to good avail in recent times. There are others inc. Battery Megatore, but if you do decide to buy one, it’s worth investing a bit extra in quality. I never buy batteries on price, but by quality - min. 4 year warranty ones at best price. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. I wouldn’t worry about the recall if it’s not Adblu associated. Any ‘messing orotund’ with the car, gives the seller ammunition to claim it ‘wasn’t like that before you subjected it the recall’. Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Thanks for allowing me to try to help you David. Sorry I’ve got it wrong! Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Hello Richard, There has been many posts on the potential impact of this issue - regrettably often not good reading. I take it you didn’t buy your car from a main dealer ( too old?). If this were mine, I would be e-mailing the seller today, and following up with a phone call in the morning. I think you need to request that you book this in to your nearest main dealer, or trusted independent for a diagnostic check, and seek their sanction to do that. Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Hello David, Could now possibly be pointing to a faulty steering lock actuator-? Kind regards, Gareth.
  15. Welcome Kerry, Try Parts in Motion at Exeter. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  16. Hello David, Certainly agree with Richard. Well worth rechecking, and increasing the revs. to around 2,000 Incase it increases. Kind regards, Gareth.
  17. Hello Jay, Probably best to PM Imram, since he hasn’t visited the forum this year. Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. Hello Mike, Even if you did post a video of the sound, I think the best would be a calculated guess. If it were mine:- I would be seeking opinion from a local trusted independent. Unless the independent advises you to do so, I certainly would not ignore it - the car is trying to tell you something. You have a warranty with the car, and it is not your responsibility to actually diagnose the fault. Your responsibility is to simply ensure it gets sorted. Kind regards, Gareth.
  19. Hello Matt, Welcome,,and sorry to hear of your issue. By what means are you hoping to get an aftermarket one, quicker than nipping into an Audi dealership to order one on Monday, and arranging to pick one up on Thursday? Kind regards, Gareth.
  20. The symptoms you describe are typical (but not restricted to) a failing battery. Ability of your test to declare it totally serviceable in all respects?? Do you know how old the battery is? Make may give a clue if you don’t know. Kind regards, Gareth.
  21. Thanks David, CCA is usually a good indicator of overall battery efficiency, but if original to the car, then I wouldn’t conclusively eliminate it as perhaps a suspect. Guess the car doesn’t have any longish runs with you. Alternator output checked? Kind regards, Gareth.
  22. Hello David, How was the battery tested to come to the conclusion that it was OK? Is the battery the original fitted to the car? Kind regards, Gareth.
  23. Thanks Hanees, Who tested the battery, and what parameters did they test? Kind regards, Gareth.
  24. Hello Simon, Sorry to hear of your issue, particularly since the replacement costs are likely to render that route as being uneconomical. I terms of deleting, I would first be taking experienced advice on this, and the potential MOT implications, before spending anything on that route. Let’s hope someone who has experienced views of been-there-done-that will be along to help, or if there is indeed experienced advice to just not go there. Kind regards, Gareth.
  25. Hello Kernower, Could you please complete your profile properly, then we should be able to assist. Kind regards, Gareth.
