  1. Thanks Nigel, So if Gavin had turned the passenger side heater control down to a much lower temperature, he would have had heating on the driver side - ? Kind regards, Gareth.
  2. Thanks Ged. We can add a price for you, if you let us know what it is. Just to be clear, are you asking to delete the advert, or leave the advert ( with the then added price), but remove posts after the advert once the price is added? Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. I would drain it off for peace of mind Jaspal. Kind regards, Gareth.
  4. Hello Stuart, If I’m understanding it correctly, you have eliminated the oil filter area as a source of your leak ( make of filter as a matter of interest). If this is leaking a litre in 6 miles, that’s obviously some leak, and if this were mine, I would be thoroughly ‘degreasing’ all the bottom end of the engine, and waiting for it to dry. I would then start the engine and observe the actual leak site. It does seem to be very much of a coincidence that this has occurred at the point of a filter change, so it maybe wise not to ignore a link with this - again - make of filter? Kind regards, Gareth.
  5. Could you action this request please Ged?
  6. Hello Dean, Welcome, and thanks for joining. Have you tried Googling ‘Automatic gearbox repairs in my area’? There are some entries for Gloucestershire. Kind regards, Gareth.
  7. Apologies Gavin, but I’m still trying to get a logical understanding on this. Symptoms:- Passenger side hot. Driver side cold. You suspected a blocked heater matrix. I countered this suspicion since a blocked matrix cannot feed hot water to one side and not the other, unless there are two matrixes - each feeding one side only. If there are two, then indeed it makes sense. Does anyone know whether this model is fitted with two independent heater matrixes, each feeding independent sides of the vehicle? Kind regards, Gareth.
  8. Hello David, Thanks for joining and placing your advert. Would you be kind enough to list your asking price rather than just ‘offers’ , so that forum members are not messed around trying to guess prices. Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. Thanks Cristian, If this were mine, I would be paying a visit to their parts section, and would be discussing the purchase of a sticker face to face with the actual parts person. While you are there, and have ordered the sticker, you could then ask to have a quick chat with the service manager and seek his meanwhile-advice on the correct pressures for the wheel and tyres sizes you have. I fear that you will continue to make zero progress over the phone. Good luck and kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Certainly well worth following Steve’s advice Cristian, and taking a trip into your local dealer, armed with the VIN. If you talk nicely to them, then they would probably tell you what the correct load-free and loaded pressures are for you wheel and tyre size, but having a sticker and returning it originality is the best option. Perhaps you could let us know the outcome. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Hello Dale, The wiring on this has certainly been played around with, and Steve is probably right that non standard connections may eventually lead you to the source. Probably a bit basic, but it could be worth eliminating the wiring in the flexible harness section twixt body and boot - can be the source of fractured wires. Unlikely, but worth a coat of looking at and eliminating. Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Hello Mario, Sorry, I don’t have any experience of common wear spots on this hood, but the general wear line appears to be in a fold where the fabric will rest when the roof is down. I would expect the wear holes to be where there is some sort of bracket or similar has been in contact with it, again when it’s folded down. Repair? To me, I can only see this being done with a patch. Where would you get material to be anything like the now faded hood, even if you like the idea of a patch? It could be me, but the hood material seems rather open texture, and I wonder if it has been given a good couple of blasts with a pressure washer. Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Hello Rune, I would be getting the probably-suspect battery checked and replaced, unless proved to be serviceable. Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. List your ‘want’ on on-line breaker link sites, such as Partsfinder - there are more.
  15. Thanks Ged, OK, let’s put this another way - please list your asking price, rather than ‘serious offers’. Kind regards, Gareth.
  16. Hello Ged, Thanks for joining and posting your advert. It looks a nice car, and you say ‘only serious offers considered’ and ‘no time wasters’. I fear that if you are not going to state your minimum selling price then regrettably - but understandably - you are going to suffer a waste of time, and excuse me for being direct, but potential interested parties may also consider you to be wasting their time. Could you list your minimum selling price please. Kind regards, Gareth.
  17. Last bit of advice still stands then.
  18. Hello, Welcome, and thanks for joining. We take it the EML was on, and you then decided to change the plugs in the hope that that would permanently cure the problem. When you say ‘it was cleared after service’, do you mean the light went out on its own, or did you get it reset? Investing in a diagnostic check to establish the root cause is the way forward, otherwise you will end up throwing all sorts of parts at it. Kind regards, Gareth.
  19. Hello Geoff, Glad you local garage were able to do the belt for you. Re. clutch:- unfortunately, it sounds like it’s due for a new clutch assembly by the symptoms you describe. Well worth getting the same garage to give you an opinion on this. Kind regards, Gareth.
  20. Hello Nigel, I too would be concerned with the cracks, and would certainly follow sound advice and get it renewed along with the additional components mentioned. Kind regards, Gareth.

    Oil usage

Thanks Mark, Since this is the first time you have had to add ( probably about 1 litre) in 13.5 K miles from new, then I would say there is nothing abnormal about that. You will probably find that this consumption decreases at the next oil change. Of course if you find it needs more frequent topping up, then you will need that investigated at that time. It is clear from what you say, that the car is indeed on a Longlife service schedule which normally means around 18k or 18 months - whichever comes first - between services. Kind regards, Gareth.
  22. Hello Bob, I would be taking this to a garage that specialises in diesel engines - even commercials. Kind regards, Gareth.

    Oil usage

Hello Mark, At what mileage did you last add oil, and how much did you add? Has the car been serviced yet, or is it on a Longlife servicing schedule? Kind regards, Gareth.
  24. Please share with us how you fixed it Colm, so others with the same issue can benefit from your experience. Kind regards, Gareth.
  25. Where have you tried Kevin?
