  1. Quite easy I found it easier to remove wheel then undo the driveshaft bolt then undo the three bolts from lower ball joint , then pull out driveshaft from hub, keeping shaft straight screw in driveshaft bolt to push cv joint off the shaft carefull not to damage threads it's quite tight ,clean up joint and shaft use new driveshaft clip ,slide on new boot ,regrease joint, line up splines and gently tap the joint back (soft hammer) on to the shaft again carefully as its tight tap on until it sits against the cone washer, slide boot into place and fit clips ( old type carpenters pliers can be used) reassemble joint to hub and tighten driveshaft nut, job done would highly recommend using Audi genuine parts as they come with new clips grease etc and it fitted perfectly
  2. You can get them from Audi for £11
  3. Thanks for the reply but they are the fixed rails mine fit to the roof without roof bars it's just a plastic cover that covers the fixing bolt I think I have a part number as Audi do a repair kit ( I hope) cheers again
  4. Just recently bought some second hand roof bars for my Audi A3 sportback were great but noticed tonight that a end cap has fallen off .can you get replacements ?,I don't mind if I have to buy some with locks cheers
  5. Thanks but was more looking along the lines of undoing the driveshaft retaining bolt then screw in a longer bolt (same thread as original driveshaft bolt ) to push shaft from cv joint then swinging shaft sideways clear of the hub . This is an old vauxhall trick as you could change a cv boot without undoing a bolt . As the most difficult bit of a cv boot change is getting the cv joint off the shaft and audi acknowledge this by the ability to use the driveshaft bolt to remove it
  6. Going to have to do a outer cv boot and have heard that you can use the driveshaft retaining bolt to carefully push the cv joint from the shaft can this be done without removing any suspension bolts/parts like on the older vauxhalls cheers
  7.
