  1. Not that I can see. Please point me to your answer.
  2. Sian. Were the above replies of any help to you?
  3. This only re-inforces my low opinion of Halfords. A bunch of clowns they were in the past; a bunch of clowns they still are.
  4. Andy. For the sake of clarity please amend your profile to show the correct date of manufacture, so that others seaching for any related problem can find it.
  5. I have read that OBD11 is the best, but not being a user of such things I suggest you wait for confirmation from somebody more knowledgeable than me.
  6. There was a recent topic on the matter in this forum that would be worth searching for.
  7. Nothing has changed. The big red signs at the start of a restricted zone, and the smaller repeater sign within it, are still the only official indicators recognised by law. All one has to do is watch for them.
  8. A recall will undoubtedly mean many people are wanting those hoses at the same time so I am not surprised they are out stock, though sensible planning for the recall should have ensured enough were made available beforehand. Am I being unrealistic to expect common sense from Audi?
  9. The simpler solution is to stay within the speed limit.
  10. Paul. Your experience demonstrates the drop in quality standards at Audi that has become evident to many of us at the forum over the past few years. Whether this is the result of the diesel emissions scandal or just the routine interference of the bean counters I do not know. Do you know if the belt that failed prematurely was wet or dry? Wet belts have become popular amongst manufacturers recently, but they do seem to fail unpredictably, unlike the older dry belts.
  11. Glad to hear the problem has been resolved, and presumably quite cheaply.
  12. If it is the chain rattling you can continue to drive it if necessary. Of course it will be doing more expensive damage to the engine if you do so, but it will not result in a complete and sudden failure of the engine. It would help if you answered Steve's question: how many miles or kilometres has the car done.
  13. Kwikfit has one of the worst reputations in the business. Better to go to a proper garage, preferably an auto electrical place, which will have the expertise to do a deep discharge test on the battery.
  14. An internet search showed several independant Audi garages in the Dumbarton/Glasgow/Clydebank area. Have they all refused to take on the job? (Note that I would not recommend an affiliated Audi dealer.)
  15. Do please let us know the outcome in case further investigation is needed.
  16. Still nothing unusual to hear unfortunately.
  17. Have you looked at Ebay? I see many new and secondhand fobs there, though I have no idea what is involved in adapting them to your car.
  18. Well I hated the Boulevard Periphique anyway, so no loss to not drive there again.
  19. I repeat: get the battery professionally tested.
  20. Sorry Luriy, I do not not hear anything unusual.
  21. In other words he can afford to thrash it because he did not pay for it.
  22. Sorry Antonio. I mistakenly omitted the word "not" from my previous answer, which I have now amended. You should not rely on a voltage reading to tell you about the battery health because the load imposed by a simple meter is only a few milliamps, which is not enough stress to show up internal faults. Professional testing should impose a load about 100,000 times a multimeter (i.e. about 200-300 amps which is what a starter motor draws,) in order to truly stress the battery.
  23. It's not the heater failure causing the power loss. It's something more fundamentally wrong with your car. Can you exchange it for the better car?
