How long are you driving it for before switching off the engine? I have this problem with my A6, I think because I only do short journeys during the week. The AA told me it takes 20 minutes of driving to give the battery enough charge just to start the engine. My journey to work is 15 minutes, but even if I drive it for an hour or more at weekends and then park it up for the night, just keeping the immobiliser going drains it again. My jump starter is worth its weight in gold, but it is irritating not being able to start the car without it. All the electronics are nice to have but the battery is the size of a small suitcase and the car is craving a motorway run every day! I considered changing to a 2.0, but if you're having the same problems that's not going to be the answer. If you have found the problem let me know.

I wouldn't mine a manual button but mine doesn't seem to have the option at all and it's an 08. It's a worry in car parks, even though I do park as far away from the shop as I can.

Thanks. It would seem so, but for a car with that amount of technology I find it very strange that something so simple can't be done. I've just got rid of a 13 year old Mondeo and even that had folding mirrors! What year is yours?

I have just bought a 2008 A6 Avant 2.7 TDI and I can't find a button to fold the mirrors in, or anything in the MMI under the central locking menu, there is no mention of mirrors. I have pushed and pulled the button on the door in all directions but it doesn't do anything except tilt the glass. Is there a fault with the button or am I looking in the wrong place?
