I’ve just been quoted £1700 inc Vat to change these worn parts and cracked bushes by an Audi dealership. Seems like a lot of money. Is it?

I've just bought a car with this issue. I'm told that the patch they will eventually offer may simply delete the code which instructs the engine readouts to lie. It won't affect performance. But its all black magic and smoke and mirrors so who knows?
