Had my car back to the garage I bought it from to sort the sat nav out under warranty. They had the car for a few weeks to sort a few other things at the same time. Picked the car up Tuesday and they say have replaced a part that cost £1100 and the sat nav works fine now. Drove home and noticed the sat nav screen showed me driving in the opposite direction and now that I'm home shows my current position as being 60 miles away from where I am. Does anybody know if they could of just connected some plugs in wrong or something simple like that. I can take it back to them but it's not local to me and can't take it to them for 3 weeks. My mates with Q7's don't know as they have never had a problem with their sat nav and can't get a wiring diagram for it anywhere

What does vcds - options - test say. You can ring Rosstec for support who will talk you through some things to see why it's not talking but to be honest I'd probably ring Audi and pay £80 or something to get them to do it on there computer if it's gone on this long. I've only seen something like the problem your having when my mate bought a Mickey Mouse lead from eBay when his original one broke

Is it a genuine cable you are using to program. If you do vcds options test what does it say.

Hi what are the levels for all four channels and what are the stored values for all four channels? I think if the stored value for example is 495 and the actual value is 410 then the ecu won't allow such a dramatic change and so you will need to set it to within 20 of the stored value until you can get to where it is.

Is it Left Hand Drive? Is just one corner down or both on that side. What is the value you are trying to enter? Is the mmi greyed out on the suspension settings? What parts have you changed on the car to get to this stage?

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/levelcontrol.html This might help 👍🏻

Channel 4 is the rear right I think and 5 is just to confirm the values so probably will say error if there isn't any value in 4. Have you entered anything for 1,2,3? What value are you entering in channel 4. Is any of the suspension lower than the rest. I think the test conditions are that the engine has to be running and all the doors are closed

Sounds like a valve stuck open. If the bag had such a big leak that it goes down straight away when the pump stops then I doubt it would lift it up in the first place. The over temp fault is just because the pump keeps kicking in. Unless it's really noisy it should be fine. There is a valve block just behind the pump that might be stuck but check the individual valve on the strut first with soapy water to see where the air is escaping. What have you changed to get vagcom to say that. Have you changed the bag and now it's stuck down on the corner and won't raise the car at all? If so jack the car up on that wheel to take some weight off and see if it will raise it up.

I can't open it either for some reason. It's just a video from my iphone showing the bubbles coming from the top of the strut. Have you tried putting soapy water on to see where the leak is

Found a video I took when mine was leaking IMG_6176.MOV

Hi Andy it wasn't that hard really but just a little time consuming. It took a couple of hours. Got a squeezey bottle with a little washing up liquid and water in and then raised the suspension and squirted it onto the bag and cradle to see where the leak was. It was right at the top of the suspension cradle so wasn't the bag that was leaking. After removing the suspension strut the top cradle is held on with 3 13mm bolts. The seal is under that and is really easy to see and remove. I put a little sealer on the new one just to make sure it sealed properly. To remove the bag in case that's what is faulty on yours it looked like a nut in the centre under the cradle would need taking off to allow it to slid off. It was all fairly straight forward and obvious what needed taking off I wouldn't be worried about carrying it out as long as you have a good selection of tools. I used my mates garage and his air tools. I also replaced the pump on mine which was on its way out which was under the car on the drivers side. All the pipes for each corner of the car run from there so if you can't see any bubbles from your suspension have a look there as if it can leak on that connection too and have the same result.

Might sound silly but when you get in the car does it remember your phone and connect automatically or do you have to pair it manually with the PIN number. I had a problem with mine in that it wouldn't store any of the settings for the handsfree after I turned the ignition off they just reverted back to what somebody had set them too years ago. I upgraded the software to 5570 using the discs but it made no difference. I was told it was a fault on the Bluetooth module and that it needed replacing so I just lived with pairing it everytime I got in. Mine was a 2006

My mate had a problem with his tailgate that sounds similar to what yours is doing. His turned out to be a fault on the left hand rear indicator holder or wire that was causing resistance and making the left tailgate sensor behave funny so kept closing then opening about 12 inches. He can't really remember as it was Audi that sorted it for him and it was a while ago. So the light fault could be related. I am talking about an electric tailgate so hope you are too

I've enabled the hidden green menu on the mmi and checked the nav section which says it's not receiving any satellites so believe it's going to be something to do with the shark fin antenna but have no idea where it plugs in or how to check it other than making sure it's plugged in

my sat nav has a white screen but all the key on the right had side. I purchased another disc thinking that it couldn't read the map information. When putting the new disc in the mmi says updating and has the % counting up then comes back on with the white screen. Having fiddled around in the manual position option it appears that my sat nav thinks I'm in Africa or somewhere similar so moving the position towards Europe shows my map. It will let you zoom in etc and has all the street names but when you press return it goes white again. Is there a way to tell it where you are to begin with? Could this be the gps antenna isn't working? If so does anybody know where it plugs in or if there is a module for it. The disc wasn't in when I purchased the vehicle as the dealer says they take them out and put them with the service books to stop them being stolen. Vagcom shows nothing related to the sat nav faulty. Cheers dave

Both of my Q7's averaged between 14-18 mpg driving around where I live which is very hilly but on the motorway will average 30+. The best way to check the real mpg is to fill the car up drive 50 or 60 miles driving how you normally would then fill the car back up and work out what it's doing

My Q7 a 2006 3.0 was remapped by the previous owner to around 280bhp. Don't really know if it was much quicker off the start as I have too much mechanical sympathy to properly nail it like that with it weighing as much as a planet. But flooring it when it was already going like pulling off from junctions or over taking is where I found it most impressive. Unfortunately the car was written off over Christmas outside a pub I'd left it at so our new Q7 is just standard but I'm not going to bother getting this one done as to be honest it's quick enough for the wife

It's sorted I've done it now. If anybody wants to know what's needed let me know and I will explain.

Hi does anybody know if the led head lights and tail lights from 2009 onwards require a module to get them to work on a pre 2009 Q7. I have the lights already and have been told kuftech do a harness for the front but don't know if that just connects to the existing harness or connects to a module first. My car has factory fitted xenon lights instead of halogen

Audi do sell the seals separately. It's a rubber o ring and costs £4.80 plus vat. Parts guy told me it's very common that the seal is at fault but because of the labour involved they only recommend replacing the entire unit to their customers which including fitting is over £1000. Replaced the seal and the car has stayed up over night ever since

Hi all I have a 2006 3.0tdi Q7 which has developed a fault on the drivers side front suspension in that it goes down over night. Having raised the car up and squirted soapy water anti the strut/airbag etc, the place the bubbles are apparent is at the top of the strut where the cradle seems to sit just above where the air pipe connects. My question is does anybody know if there is some sort of rubber seal there or is it a sealed unit and I need a new strut. Any advise would be greatly appreciated as if it's just a case of a new seal at cost of a few pounds rather than a complete suspension strut.
