Hoping to get the egr and egr cooler deleted this weekend. Hope to see a difference once that's done. Do you think I will see a nice little improvement once the egr and cooler are sorted out ?

Ok guys, thought I would report back and let you know how the turbo replacement went. Got the car back yesterday and took it on a 200 mile trip. All I can say is that I'm so happy with the replacement turbo and the car runs amazing. The power is amazing , the pick up is fantastic and I hardly used any fuel. So happy with the work that Lee and Sean did on my car. Labour cost was £282, was quoted £270 but they replaced a pipe for me that I didn't know I needed. Really happy with the service that WCC Audi gave me and I am going back next week to delete the egr valve and egr cooler. Thankyou to everyone on this forum that gave me good advice and offered to help me in my time of need. WCC Audi contact details are below guys. Cant keep mine, its on a returns basis. I am sending my old turbo back to him. Seems a great company to deal with though as they have spent a lot of time on the phone with me. I will post back on Monday night to let you know how the car runs. The garage is charging me £45 an hour / 5 hours labour. So all in all its me £450 ish for a replacement. I think that's a good deal myself.

Ok guys, thanks for all your replies and advise on this subject. I have decided to purchase another turbo off ebay for £185, its a recon but it comes with a two year warrenty so I'm happy. Car is booked in on Monday 13th ( ohh ekk ) and I will post back to let you know how the car runs, hopefully limp mode has gone. I have provided a link for the turbo on ebay and the seller said they are happy to help and accommodate any forums members. Hope this help anyone on here. Yeah bud , the guy at the garage was friendly and could of easily charge me £45 + vat for a diagnostic. But was honest and told me to save my money for an OEM turbo off ebay. Really impressed and I will be getting the job done asap. As soon as its done I will post back my results. Really tempted to do the Mr Muscle trick in the meantime though. :)

Right, update on my problem. Basically went to the audi garage and he told me that its probably sticky turbo vanes. He said there is no point in him doing a diagnostic and changing me £45 +vat when it will not tell him its a turbo problem. Very friendly garage, great guys and didn't charge me any money for 20 mins of his time. He said he is willing to fit a turbo for me for the cost of £270 labour, and I can supply my own turbo which will save me a good £500. So I need to save and sort out the turbo or try the Mr Muscle trick. Hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by pointing you all in the direction of this friendly non rip off garage. Yeah, ive got a plan, lol. I am thinking of going to mates, 3 hour drive, do the Mr Muscle trick and drive home. I cant get around to doing it for a few weeks though. If I do go, I will post back and let people know the results. Hopefully it will help others in my situation.

Can anyone on here confirm that my N75 valve is working fine. Hope the picture I have provided says it all :)

Problem is to remove the main pipe at the back you have to get under the car to remove it off the turbo. So it looks like I have to jack the up and remove the engine protect tray at the very least. Ive looked at utube and cant find anyone with my model. I am sure the Mr Muscle trick will do it but its getting the car in the air that's the problem..

Ok, took some pics. I think the turbo is down the back of the engine. Ive taken a few pics. Also tested my N75 pressure valve using my Foxwell and it seems to be ok. I think its a case of Mr Muscle to the rescue, lol.

Took engine cover off and all I can see is pipes. Pipes , pipes and more pipes. Cant see the turbo or nothing. I will take some pics tomorrow, weather permitting. I'm sure Mr Musle will sort this out. Car is FSH and ive replaced the EGR and checked for air leaks and splits as best as I can. I will take some pics and post them up tomorrow. Thx dude :)

Hey dude, sorry for late reply. Problem I have is I cant even see the turbo or the ego pipe from the top of the car. I'm guessing I have to jack the car up, remove the engine protect tray and then I will be able to see it all. Or can I do it all from above, inside the engine bay. My model is A3 tdi 2.0 BKD 2004. Thx

Morning, to be honest I can even see the turbo. The car has a engine protect tray under it and I don't have a good enough jack or ramps to get under it. I am told that if I can take the egr pipe off and pump Mt Muscle in the thing then it should be ok as the car runs amazing and doesn't smoke, not bad for 165k on the clock. Have a load of ripped tendons in my hands so cant really do the most simplist of jobs, its very frustrating. Grrrr....

Hi All, thankyou for all your ideas and taking the time to reply. I plugged my foxwell nt500 reader in and basically says the car is overboosting, hence the limp mode. Looks like its more than likely the turbo vanes. By any chance is any one local to myself in Wirral, willing to fill my ( wait for it ) turbo with Mr Muscle. I have no way of getting under the car to remove the engine tray and take the pipe off the turbo. Ive read up and a lot of people have done this trick and got away with it ( cheap option ) . Obviouslly happy to cover any costs, don't expect it done for nothing. Most garages around me basically want to supply and fit a turbo. Guessing if I cant find someone local to me then I will just have to save up and in the summer get the turbo replaced. Any ideas welcome as per usual. Thanks.

Hi Magnet, yes, I have thought something similar. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get the audi guy to do a diagnostic test and then take things from there. The car runs , starts and performs great, until boost is needed. I know I can drive ti the safely around town but sometimes I go on the motorway and I feel the car is unsafe on the motorway because sometimes you need a little boost to pull away from traffic, lane changing etc. I will put the car in next week and report back to everyone. If anyone has any more thoughts though, please chip in. Thanks again guys , I really do appreciate your time, help and advice, Paul...
