Hi Anyone with knowledge would be helpful. Last 31/08/17 2.0 tfsi engine running super rough vibrating heavily, then I saw black liquid splattering out both exhausts then engine management light came on. A week or more ago my oil light came up for several days staying on while driving. Now I belived my oil reserve when oil light on is 1 litre? And (been told today capacity is 4.2 litres). So I topped up exactly 3 litres. Today I gave car to mecanic to keep his 1st impression is I have over filled oil when he checked dip stick checked on his computer fault RANDOM CYCLINDER MISSFIRE. My question is why an earth and how could this all happen? Im goona assume mecanic will drain oil. As a side note he found a coolient hose near/next to/or on thermostat that's leaking coolient.

Low oil and low coolient (maybe head gasket?)
Riccardo replied to Riccardo's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
What if..... the Les Pauls (independent garage that had my car for a month) knocked the tubing or clamp, causing the coolant spill then they put it back in place correctly? As does not seem to be leaking currently. I've cleaned it off and see if anymore forms on it. -
Hi 22/08/17 just noticed my coolient leave way below min and oil light recently went off. My mate suggested possible head gasket. I hope !Removed! not as I have had the car in and out of Audi the last two years (including 2017 like a yo yo). March 2017 Audi replaced my rocker cover gasket at a huge cost £500 +. I always keep my eye on temperature all normal, no milky oil on oil cap, no white smoke generally or idling (maybe sometimes when I floor it but not 100% sure white smoke?) Worse case scenario if it is head gasket how much can I expect to pay? Does anyone know a good independent in London or east London that can do an excellent job replaceing? I've topped up oil to capacity to make it 4 litre level (5w30 castrol edge) and added water to max level. I will watch and monitor car from now. Milage of vehicle around 104600.

Ok I've done the calculations Audi had it April the oil light has gone off August leaving 1 litre left so full engine (engine oil capacity 4.5 litres) oil lasted four months and 2,535 miles I completed between last too up and now. (Audi from memory says 1000 miles between tops ups is acceptable). Therefore my roughly calculations I Need 4 litres of castrol 5w-30 oil costs £36 a pop and purchase maybe two a year to top car up until next service.

Lol to all I have this system. I use an iPhone. Twice I connected 1st time buying the car it was a pain as it would not find/connect when found 2nd time when my car was reset again a pain but trial and error eventually it random finds/connects. I don't know why it's like this but it is mate.

Months ago I had oil too up due to a cracked oil collier. 16/08/17 oil light came on I checked under car no leaks or anything obvious to save something's wrong. I checked dip stick an In fact it's on minimum oil level. Current mileage 104514. I've emailed the Audi centre for dates and mileage 1) so I can see what I've done since last oil change and 2) to see if this is normal oil useage for a 2 litre tfsi?

Audi A4 2.0 TFSI B7 fueling/misefires codes P0087 and P1093
Riccardo replied to Riccardo's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
Ok I have my vehicle back now collected 08/07/17 after five weeks of patiently waiting while using horrible public transport to work. They changed a breather valve vent hose, adaptor re oil housing, crank sensor. Checking fuel pump, pistons, camshaft for wear none found (diagnosis costed in as well). I will run the vehicle and see if the problem has finally been resolved fingers cross. On collection I spoke with one of the managers Kevin Gallagher at Les Pauls motors who gave me a good will discount of roughly £200 being sympathetic of my stresses and the amount of time the repair took leaving the total at a reasonable £400 which I was very grateful for. Fingers crossed the problem been resolved. -

Other people with the issues in 2012, one guy named ANONYMOUS A4 different fault codes but same symptoms as me. replaced many parts for new and cleaned engine out and still the power loss and stuttering issue remained. A few suggestions here some suggest faulty MAF sensor fix? http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/485837-Problem-With-TFSI-Power-Loss -

I found this last night; Re codes p0087 and p1093 vw technical bulletin, re excessive wear of intake camshaft lobe that drives high pressure fuel pump. The wear on the camshaft lobe can lead to wear on the base of the high pressure fuel pump cam follower. http://www.goapr.com/images/support/tsb/15-09-03 (2015153) 16 Dec 2009 - MIL ON, DTC P0087, P1093 or P2293.pdf -

25/5/17, 26th, 27th problem came up but since then vanished I will keep monitoring, I'm half tempted to call up mecanic and cancel my 3/6/17 vehicle booking (I really don't want to spend anymore money 🙈😅) -

This my Audi my 4th car numerous issues and money spent. 1st car was 1988 1.6 a sexy black ford escort mk4 gia leather seats, alloys the works (only issue the full tank level was broken lol). 2nd 1997 1.6 another black ford escort mk6 si body kit from mondeo, black alloys, induction kit, piper back box etc etc lost to long to post. Then 3rd sexy 1999 black golf GTI mk4 owned for eight years it had minor issues like the front sus brushes needed changing every two year (grrrr government and their speed bumps kiss my teeth) mass air sensor changed twice etc minor things, with this Audi it's been nothing but time, money, heartache and stress (technically had two Audi's scarpped the one same car and model oil chain pump failure on both Audi's). So last two and a have years I've been trapped in a nightmare. -

What's annoying is the issue is random it won't do it for days then come back and do it two or three times then vanish again so when I bring it to mecanic's they can't replicate fault and seems like they guessing. I've never exeperiened anything like it before on a car. 😡 -
I thinks that's the PCV valve your referring to funny enough I just changed mines. I made a thread. Also in the past with my golf mk 4 every couple of years I'd get random reving like yours in eight years ownership I had to change the AIR MASS SENSOR twice.

Hi. Ok collecting my vehicle today. I've got mixed feelings. Garage said. They've tested the hell out of my car for two or three days all the top bosses/qualified mecanic's have looked at it. They found that my vehicle has the old PCV breather valve. I knew audi did a revised version as the original caused a lot of problems such as what I'm having in 2.0 TFSI engines. But only negative they do not sound 💯if this is the cause of my woes and informed me to bring it back in if problems persist. -
Sorry Hancocks are garbage scratched up my rims cos no protection. I got the Michelin 4's expensive but very very good tires.

Audi A4 Tfsi 2.0T engine failures, quattro, engine Issues,
Riccardo replied to Riccardo's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
One more thing I noticed some say when the oil chain pump fails it's actually because the FOLLOWER on top of the chain that gives up due to wear and tear (friction). Letting chain loose. The follower from memory cost a couple of quid but don't quote me on that. Again I don't know if you can avoid oil chain pump engine failure issue by just changing the follower as I'm not a mecanic. -
For the last six months plus, while driving at any speed or any gear, random power losses/misfires for one or two seconds, with no pattern sometimes it does not do it for days and sometimes does it three times in a fourteen mile journey, with rev counter dropping and returning to normal again. Sometimes when accelerating from a stand still at a traffic light when I move off, the car seems to do what I can only describe as a huge misfire, I feel a large thud from the engine and the vehicle jerks forward violently then acts normal again so I can drive. Vehicle has had a minor Audi service March 2017b (also full Audi service history). 29thApril I fitted a brand new original Audi original part fuel filter. It seemed to improve things but.... I still see the random power loss/miss fires stutter. Straight after fuel filter change vehicle put on a computer, codes came up P0087 and P1093. (Re computer codes picture attached)Reference code P0087 I googled results; https://www.obd-codes.com/p0087Potential causes of a P0087 trouble code may include: Weak fuel pump, clogged filter or screen, restricted fuel supply line Faulty fuel pump driver module Faulty fuel pressure sensor.Reference code P1093; http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17501/P1093/004243P1093 - Bank 1; Fuel Measuring System 2: MalfunctionPossible SymptomsPower LossMisfire(s)StallingPossible CausesFuel Pressure insufficient/exceed/fluctuatingFuel Pump (High Pressure System) faultyFuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276) faultyPossible SolutionsCheck Fuel Pressure (on FSI engines High and Low Fuel Pressure System)Check Fuel Pump (High Pressure System)Check Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276)Check Fuel Filter and Filter in Fuel Pump CasingSpecial NotesWhen found in 2.0l TFSI<http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/2.0l_TFSI_(AXX/BGB/BPJ/BPY/BWA)>: * Check Fuel Pressure<http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/2.0l_TFSI_(AXX/BGB/BPJ/BPY/BWA)#Checking_Fuel_Pressure> * Check TSB/TPI 2008753 (Rest of World), incompatibility between Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276) and ECU software. * When found in conjunction with Misfires and Lean fault codes, check RVUTB: 01-09-03 or 2018919 (NAR only) 2.0T (BPY), for updated Crankcase Breather Valve * If the breather valve is faulty, full engine vacuum is typically found when removing the oil cap at idleMaybe possibly need a new breather valve, high pressure fuel pump/cam follower, or fuel pressure sensor. I've booked my vehicle to go to Audi specialist Les Paul's for first time and I hope they can fix issue as quick as possible.

Audi A4 Tfsi 2.0T engine failures, quattro, engine Issues,
Riccardo replied to Riccardo's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
There is none my friend other then leaving it and crossing your fingers your vehicles oil chain pump never fails or alternatively do preemptive measures and just pay the I think £1000-£1500 to change it now for a new oil chain pump plus components etc, rather if it fails you can see my costs above bro. It gets complicated to as theirs a 3rd party version that's a geared system you can get fitted to avoid the chained bit of the pump, but I can't advise you on where to do all of the above, but let me know what you do in the end and how you get on with everything. -
A4 b7 2.0T Quattro random power torque loss
Riccardo replied to Riccardo's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
Ok mates suggested sonics I've not changed fuel filter in two years I should do that first. I've bought one just need to get it fitted. -
Hi all This has been an issue I have ignored roughly last six months During a 20 minute, 8 mile drive, three times this morning the car did that random fluctuate power or loss of engine torque for 1-2 seconds at any speed or gear it goes and then comes back and acts as normal again. I prey it's just a simple thing to replace to fix, cheaply and quickly. Any ideas or expert vag/Audi mecanic's I can go to (anywhere within a reasonable distance) I live East of London and I'm usually off Saturdays only. Fyi cars alway been immaculately serviced on time at every interval vehicles required most recently April minor service received.
