  1. Hi I have seen that a rolling road session has been set up, but leicester is about a 3 hour drive for me. I have found http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk , based in Farnborough, and they do a session for £40. They seem to run these on a regular basis on a saturday. Is there any interest out there for a southern area meet here? Let me know and I would be happy to organise something. Regards, Graham ***************UPDATE**************** Confirmed details are as follows. The date has changed to a week later 13th Jan 2018 I have booked an hour session 10.30 - 11.30 for 4 cars. 2 have confirmed Audi A3 with re-map Audi S4 with re-map 2 yet to confirm. If there is anyone else interested please let me know.
  2. Hi Stef I have this http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/Audi/QuickReference/Audi_A4_Cabriolet_QuickReferenceGuide.pdf It will give you a basic overview of the main features and controls. Enjoy your car. Graham
  3. Sorry Adam I have not played around with taking off panels or changing them over. I use it for understanding how to take off and replace items.. If I can find out how the part number system works at Audi will let you know. It might be worth a trip to your local Audi main dealer and have a chat with the parts man. Graham
  4. Hi Adam Welcome. To check part numbers I use https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/. Select you model and year and it might be of some help Graham
  5. Hi Patrick Plug in your IPhone through the aux socket, select a track and press play. now press the CD button until you get to EXT.Source, you should then hear your IPhone music. In the radio operating manual it is page 23.
  6. Hi Chris welcome to the forum. I can recommend the A3 sportback, I am on my second one and absolutely love it. Just had my one stage one re-mapped which made a big difference. I found mine at Portfield car sales in christchurch, just near you. Graham
  7. Well. The deed has been done and I now have a car with a stage 1 re-map. What a difference. It was obvious as soon as I drove it away. It seems to rev through the range a lot smoother and has power all through the range starting from about 1400 rpm. I almost spun all the wheels the first time I pulled away from the lights The MPG when driving home from work got up over 50mpg so was very pleased The HP has gone from 170 up to 205. I was going to have the EGR switched off as well but after another conversation with the mechanic he was not keen to switch it off as feedback from others who have had it done was that the dpf sooted up a lot quicker. As I was not having the DPF removed we agreed not to switch of the EGR. Feedback welcome on the decision. I would be interested to see how it matches up with a REVO re-map or a custom job on a rolling road. The cost was £195 and took about 4 hours from dropping off to picking the car up. Just enough time for a couple of beers, weekly shop and a coffee. Am I glad I did it. Absolutely. Mechanics details if you are interested:- James Diggens Auto Services Ltd Hedge End Southampton 02380600062
  8. Thanks Piotr I will let you know when i have a few dates to choose from and the location has agreed.
  9. Hi Steve I will publish all his details next weekend, but would first like to ensure he is OK. Once this is done then I have looked at some bodywork mods using carbonfibre wrap or dip using wicked coatings in Poole, Dorset. I will supply some before and after pics during the process.
  10. Hi Rob Welcome to the forum. Good choice in car Nice to see we have another southener!! If you are interested I am looking to organise a southern are meetup in sept/october. Regards Graham
  11. Hi Andy Welcome to the forum. I have a black 2011 A3 and really like the car. The 170 Hp does make a difference and drove it comfortably at 120mph on the autobahn this summer. It took a while to find but well worth it. Graham
  12. Hi all Just thought I would let you know my 2011 A3 2.0TDI is going in for a stage 1 remap and to have the EGR switched off at the same time. I have been looking around for a long time and finally found someone close to me. I initially arranged a visit to have a chat and understand his process. I was also able to check out his facebook and checkatrade with a feedback of 9.99/10. So I was generally happy with his workmanship. The process is to take a copy of the existing standard map and send it off for re-mapping, this is the done returned and then loaded back into the ECU. If this does not work for some reason then he is able to re-load a copy of the standard map taken at the start. The car is then test driven and when he is happy he will hand it back to me, he also offers DPF removal, but not sure how that one will effect the MOT? This is done for the princely sum of 199 of my fine English pounds. (special august deal). I will let you know how the car has improved next weekend when the car has been returned. Graham
  13. Thanks for the feedback, Glad you and Jacob enjoyed the event Steve. I will think about where to have the next get together, perhaps a Saturday? I will post some ideas later.
  14. Well the day of the meeting has arrived. With a full contingent of family loaded, I left home about 9.20 am to meet at solstice park outside McD’s at 10 am. After getting past the traffic at Thruxton (British superbikes) on the A303 I managed to get to meet fellow member Paul at 10.05. With a quick Hello and handshake we made our way to Old Sarum Airfield, about 8 miles further south and on the outskirts of Salisbury. We managed to park together outside the Boscombe down aviation collection. On our arrival we also found out there was a model show on (airfix not catwalk!!). The Boscombe Collections aim is to bring the history to life by restorations, replicas and allowing people to experience sitting in their powered cockpits. We managed to get into a few cockpits so myself and Jacob, Pauls son, became experienced “hanger pilots” in fast jets and helicopters. We spent a good hour in the museum and afterwards had a look at the aircraft that were parked up outside. A good first meeting and it was good to meet Paul. I would like to organise another get together somewhere around the M4 Corridor in October and would be open to suggestions.
  15. Thanks Trevor. For those who might consider coming along. I was e-mailed this:- Sunday 6th August Salisbury - Old Sarum Airfield Event A popular event for vintage and classic cars, motorbikes and aircraft. Held on the first Sunday of every month as an informal gathering. Free entry. Arrivals from 10am Free landings for all aircraft registered before 1960. On arrival, follow the signs and look out for marshals who will direct you to a dedicated parking area. Cars and motorbikes must not enter the active airfield. Information on events at Old Sarum can be found on the website: http://www.oldsarumairfield.co.uk/events/. Should provide an interesting morning meetup. Cheers Graham

  18. Great report. I enjoyed reading it. Loved the picture in Monaco and loved the fact you had no real agenda. Makes my trip this year to Denmark seem tame. Thanks very much
  19. If anyone else reads this thread and would like to meet up on that day, you are more than welcome. Graham
