  4. Hi All, So I've heard the bi tdi active exhaust system and it's amazing. Kufatec and other providers are charging anywhere between £1200-£1400 and I can't afford that price bracket at all. I thought if I was able to salvage parts and buy seperately it could make getting an active exhaust cheaper. So I've found an SQ5 used exhaust system. My question is can this exhuast be fabricated to fit onto my a7 3.0 tdi v6 204bhp non bi tdi car? Also what else do I need to make the active sound work? Many Thanks,
  5. Hi all, Just came from an A6 C7 and now have an A7. I just wanted to know if I could fit the active sound exhaust onto my car. I know this comes stock on a bi tdi model but mine is a single turbo a7 3.0 tdi v6. Is there any way of taking pieces from another car for instance an sq5 and fabricating that exhaust onto my car then wiring up? Many Thanks
  6. Hi All, Bit of a generic question here but didn't want to limit it to just the A7 section of the site incase anyone else can benefit. So my question is, I have an A7 3.0TDi 204ps. It's a lovely car but I love exhaust noise. I phoned a local exhaust shop and they told me that for a turbo diesel car it wont make a difference if you straight pipe the vehicle, it will still be quiet. They tried to sell me a KUFATEC sound booster but that was £1400! My question is is there anyway of straight piping or removing certain parts to make the car louder. I would like to keep the dpf. Many Thanks,
  7. Hi Piotr, Do you have any experience with this or could you please let me know how I would go about describing this to a mechanic? Many Thanks,
  8. Hi All, Thanks for all the replies you're all really helpful! I also like Piotr's idea as it means I can keep it stock near enough so I might give this a try.
  9. Hi All, Another noob question. There's a lad down my road with a golf 1.9tdi and he has installed this filter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Air-Filter-Box-Carbon-Fiber-Cold-Feed-Induction-Kit-3-Air-Intake-Set-Universal-/112504703319?hash=item1a31cd8957:g:1D8AAOSwLIhZgGN- minus the hose as he was afraid of sucking in water into the engine. He has run this set up for over 30,000 miles and swears it's safe and non-damaging to the car. My questions are: 1) Is it safe to fit this to my car without the hose 2) If this filter sucks in hot air from the engine bay what effects will it have on my engine (bad and good please) 3) Please let me know any other thoughts/concerns you may have. I should state I'm not really after performance just the added sound is what I want. My car is an a6 2.0tdi c7. Many Thanks,
  10. Hi All, Thanks for all the responses. I was considering bringing it to Audi to see if they could do a software update as the previous owner was an elderly bloke who didn't really care about the car and didn't drive it much so doubt he had any work done to it. In regards to a remap I have been looking at one with Celtic tuning for £299 they can up the bhp by 50 and up the torque by 81nm. I just wanted to know if you will actually notice a difference in how the car drives after this. Many Thanks
  11. Hi All, Just a quick one, I had my middle and back boxes removed about 2 months ago and replaced with a straight pipe. Since then I feel like I have lost mpg. Yes I do occasionally cane it to hear the exhaust note but even with careful low rev driving I still struggle to get decent figures. Any ideas? Many Thanks,
  12. Hi All, Sorry to hijack the thread but I've been looking at a revo stage 1 remap for an a6 2.0tdi 2011 c7. Costs 400 quid and adds 21hp and 54nm of torque. Will you actually feel the difference in acceleration as 400 quid seems quite a hefty price?
  13. I have also experienced this the past few days I also just had all 4 brake pads changed, getting minor rubbing from the back 2 brake pads but the mechanic told me they take a while to wear in so will just have to wait a few days and see but please do let me know what the outcome is for you Dom.
  14. Hi All, Just a quick update and thanks for all the help. Turned the car on this morning and the exhaust was almost growling and really deep higher up in the rev range sounds amazing! Maybe it needed time to bed in?
