  1. good when that happens innit!! what else needs doing?
  2. Just waiting for a quote for this from the place i had my remap done. hoping they cut me a deal as i want them to do my cambelt too. anyone on here had it done and got any feedback on it?
  3. p.s. is the sound difference that noticeable on a diesel? i know it is on a petrol as i had a beasty one on my old saxo VTR innit..
  4. you would need to be pushing serious power with turbo, inlet and exhaust upgrades for an induction kit to be of any use other than to look fancy. the stock air box is designed to provide more than adequate air volume. as said, get a panel filter.
  5. although if i do go, i'll be easy to find, just follow your nose :)
  6. Caterham style. i've been helping a pal out a bit with his. takes a lot of time, dedication and dosh and i don;t quite have all of those right now. it is something i am going to do though
  7. never happened did it lol. i'll have to get the bucket out and my G3... when it warms up a bit of course. think my shed might look a bit out of place there though even with a wash
  8. if i can get the car washed then i might come...
  9. in my diesel estate!? nah. although when i'm a bit older with more time and spare cash i will be building a kit car for that very purpose!
  10. I wouldnt bother. you'd be better with a K&N panel filter. what's your goal?
  11. I personally would say 32 from a petrol auto in London is good!
  12. What size engine is it? Was your ds3 an auto?
  13. What you really need is someone with vcds who can take a look at what is happening real time would you say the white smoke is less when you are driving but more when you have been idling? If so I'd say you have one or more leaky injectors and a proper diagnostics will tell you that.

    VCDS

I've now got the lead and installed the latest version of VCDS. reset my service reminder, read and cleared any faults. now to drive it for a bit and get a fresh run of any fault codes. time to start reading up on mods, like needle sweep, etc! :)
  15. Yeah it was showing no problems. I got mine removed as a precaution but also because I use biodiesel and with a DPF that's a big no-no
  16. Nice. Pics?
  17. a remap won't cause you any problems? if it did so many people wouldnt do it! my car had just over 145k on when i got mine done!
  18. yeah use a rag, i just get packs of them micro fibre cloths, great they are,
  19. its difficult to compare as we have different cars, mine is a 140 common rail remapped to 180. i get around 500 with a mix of driving which works out to an average of 35mpg which isnt bad considering my right foot is constantly planted to the floor. my trip counter + remaining is currently saying i'll get 650 which would be 46mpg, however i've done a 140m round trip on the motorway (85+) and back with no local driving since i last filled. oh, and i use biodiesel which is said to reduce MPG by around 10% Either way, 400 sounds low, if your tank is the same size as mine? 65l. that'd be an average of around 28mpg!
  20. if you want reliability go for the 1.8t. and you can tune the nuts off them. the 2.0 tfsi can give crazy results on power if you are willing to invest the cash but you really need to do your research into economy and oil consumption
  21. not so sure about the scratches, although i have a few on my car i'm going to try and improve when the weather improves. my process will be; scratch remover, polish, wax. i've done it before on other cars and usually at least improve the look. that scuff on the rear arch looks like it will come out with some elbow grease mate
  22. dont be such a woos lol
  23. oh yeah, when you getting yours done ;-)
  24. you know, with a little fettle, that car easily good for 300bhp
  25. the cheap boxes are no good, they fool the ECU to dump more fuel. either buy the proper tuning boxes or better still get in for a remap
