  1. Possibly. Alternatively you could get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. This will b e cheaper than a new key.
  2. Keep us posted on how you get on
  3. If you've recently bought the car in the last 30 days from a dealer then they should fix it free of charge.
  4. Makes me wonder if the car has had a rear end bump and the boot/bumper not been fitted with the correct parts.
  5. Have you tried the spare key as that can help rule out if it's a faulty key.
  6. Glad you got sorted. What other hoops did you have to jump through in the end?
  7. I think they do! Apologies if missed the engine you have and yes that's chain driven.
  8. Yep will need coding, this applies to every Audi built after 2007.
  9. No harm in asking your local dealer regarding warranty but the old rule of thumb was that cambelt and water pumps should be changed at the 5 year mark. Audi have done away with the time aspect now and base it barely on mileage which I think is daft as cambelts only have a certain life.
  10. Please keep us posted on how you get on
  11. Instrument cluster issues are well documented. Look for instrument cluster repairers in your area. Probably will cost around £200
  12. If bought from a dealer in the last 30 days get it back to them asap as they should fix it free of charge. It may be the reason the previous owner traded it in. Worse case scenario it's a megatronics unit which is expensive. Is there proof of gearbox oil services? It should have had at least one.
  13. I wonder if it's worth changing the cam sensor and crank sensor.
  14. Please keep us posted on how you get on.
  15. How odd. I'd get this checked by a mechanic asap
  16. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Looks a lovely car. Make sure the car gets correctly registered with DVLA as we've seen other members have issues regarding emissions classifications etc because the correct paperwork wasn't supplied. Make sure you get the certificate of conformity from Singapore Audi. Celtic are well known and respected.
  17. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Sounds a lovely car
  18. Not sure yet, suspected crank failure. Hoping to get the sump off to inspect it. The only issue with dropping the subframe is getting it realigned afterwards. I'm thinking leaving it in so it's rolling. Like this...
  19. Please keep us posted on how you get on with the S6.
  20. Touche! 😂 Haha 🤣 I must admit, I've been doing this whilst my wife is out 😂 I may end up buying a new one anyway but will keep this as a spare. Have you any any experience with aftermarket ones such as on auto doc etc? Are they of inferior quality to the genuine Audi one which is now obsolete. Also without sounding daft, can I get the plug wet that's for the coolant level sensor? I've kept it dry this far but if it were to go in a dishwasher etc then it'd get wet.
  21. I'd take this back to the dealer you bought it from for diagnosis. If bought within the last 39 days the repair should be free
  22. Same as the new Dacia bigster 1.8, it's a Chinese built engine.
  23. Thanks both, il get hold of a dishwasher tablet. I haven't got a dishwasher unfortunately. I've mixed in washing no bio gel to see if it removes any staining.
  24. It will depend on numbers. My A6 still off the road, and my friend moved to Norway so that's two of us down.
