  1. Great info that. I hadn't even thought it'd be on the app 🤦‍♂️
  2. I feel your pain, main dealer doesn't stock parts for my A6 which is a similar age. I've had to resort to buying parts from eBay, even internationally. You can put the part number in the eBay search bar too and that might show results. As yours is a 1.8t it might be worth you looking for the parts under the A3 8p 1.8t or golf MK4 1.8t as the engines are the same I believe.
  3. Is it an auto or manual? I'd recommend getting the brakes checked.
  4. Yea that's an option
  5. Glad you found the problem
  6. Am I to assume wet carpets? Check the battery tray area to see if those drains are blocked. Also on the A6 c5 the pollen filter housing can crack. Not sure if the A3 8l suffers the same but worth a look.
  7. I'd recommend speaking to autologics or Audi retrofits as either of them should be able to help

    Air bags

There are plugs under the seats. These need to be disconnected when removing the seats. Otherwise it's just a case of unbolting them.
  9. Keep us posted on how you get on
  10. The problem with Audi's, regardless how old they get the bills and parts remain expensive
  11. Thanks for that additional info 🙂
  12. Glad you got sorted and thanks for updating us.
  13. Apologies, it's eleven
  14. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. It'll give you peace of mind at the very least
  15. No probs. You could btry a second hand unit as a new unit will be very expensive.
  16. Well I've learnt something new too. Thanks for that Steve.
  17. Is it an led light? If not can it be upgraded to led I wonder.
  18. Thanks so much Steve, very interesting story. I'm definitely going to source as many parts as possible now.
  19. Sounds like the unit is on the blink. Might be worth getting an auto electrican to take a look
  20. Hey Gareth, yep I'm going to start sourcing most parts to store. It just seems the vag group have a better selection for VW than any of their other brands as the cars get older. Regarding mechanical components, I've struggled to source the parts I need new which is definitely a first.
  21. So in light of my sump issue last weekend, it brought the realisation of how scarce some parts are going to become/already have become for the c5. Such as interior trim, electrical items, mechanical items. Anyone else concerned about this? My A6 has been in the family since new and intending to keep it on the road for as long as possible.
  22. Just had a look and you're right. As I say they were also fitted to A6 c7 and a7.
  23. No probs at all 🙂
  24. Might be worth you getting the battery checked. I found on my 02 A6 before I had a new battery the car would flag up a brake warning when the old battery was low. The airbag warning could be a loose wire under the passenger seat if it's got side, seat or passenger airbags.
  25. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. I find breakdown firms want to attend less and less these days. I'd definitely say it could be the door lock module.
