  1. Totally different engine but I paid £650 for my 2002 A6 2.5tdi at my trusted independent garage. Bare in mind the front end has to come off. £1000 seems very expensive. Don't forget some garages will over charge on a job they don't want to do.
  2. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  3. How often is it doing it? And is it during any specific conditions such as cold, raining etc? The dealer can do extensive test drives on it which will increase the chance of the issue showing up.
  4. Was this a private sale or dealer? If dealer then you have 30 days for them to rectify it, or refund you.
  5. I would always advise against a remap on a car that's got an eml on. Any good remapper should have advised this too. As you could just compound the cars issues. You'll need another diagnostic check or take it to another garage if your usual garage is struggling to diagnose it and repair it.
  6. Good advice there Gareth. I'd also recommend you check out buyers guides on YouTube as they'll help. As Gareth has said high mileage cars can be reliable if looked after. My A6 is on 344k miles, has been owned by my family from new and is over services if anything. I'm a stickler for maintenance though.
  7. Thanks for the update 🙂 glad to hear it's available in the UK now
  8. Egr valve failure is common. It's not a cheap job. You could try and get it cleaned but this may only rectify the issue for a short time.
  9. It could just be a loose wire for the mirror. Might be worth removing the glass to inspect the wiring
  10. What's the service history on the car? When was the Cambelt and water pump last changed? Has the autobox been serviced? Has the quattro system been serviced? Do all electrical items work including ac and lights.
  11. I'd definitely go with changing the sensors. But see how long you go without the issue coming back.
  12. My advice, make a log of the codes then clear them as some of them could be historic. Then drive the car for a couple of days and see what ones come back.
  13. Please keep us posted on how you get on
  14. I'd recommend a proper renso on a rolling road for a tailored map. It'll be better for your car compared to the chip ones.
  15. Steve Q

    Ideas??

What are the codes related to? If there's a leak in the suspension system then the compressor will work overtime to keep the system inflated.
  16. Sports seats, lowered suspension by 30mm which will be firmer. Larger wheels? Slightly different body styling
  17. Yea should just bolt in theory. Might depend if you're car is quattro and what engine you have. As the quattro system or the exhaust could get in the way of the larger tank.
  18. Please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  19. Definitely worth taking it to Audi UK. Or the motoring ombudsman
  20. Thanks for the update 🙂 really tempted to upgrade mine.
  21. That's not on. A failing component is failing regardless of it being warm or cold.
