  1. If it's the spring loaded ones I'm thinking of that give auto boot opening function be careful. Quality can be questionable. I've seen cases on the A6 c5 groups of them failing inside 3 months.
  2. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up

  4. It definitely depends on the miles you do. If you're regularly going into ulez areas then I'd avoid diesel as that's what the tyrannical government want to do away with first.
  5. Please keep us posted on how you get on. It's really poor service
  6. Very unusual for an estate car not to come with one. I'd recommend you speak to Audi. But I suspect the dealer is having you on.
  7. I'd agree with you that it's the control arm bush. Very common to fail on VAG cars. For clarity you could always take it back to the MOT test station to confirm our suspicions
  8. Glad it's helped 🙂
  9. Definitely consider the maf or lambda sensor. looking for cracks in the pipes is good too, especially around connectors.
  10. The scammers aren't good. Please could you notify me which ones so I can block them. Please report them on FB.
  11. I'd definitely get the engine mounts checked and wheel bearing looked at. Don't forget to consider the gearbox mount. Or what about a driveshaft?
  12. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 My advice is to speak to the dealer selling it. It won't have been for an MOT yet so there won't be anything on the system.

  14. Hi Rich, Apologies I'd missed your post. Thank you for the offer. I think at this stage I'm going to look at getting mine rebuilt hopefully. I saw your a6 on Facebook. Shane the gearbox has gone looks in good shape. Steering wheel is nice.
  15. If you go onto your profile there should be an edit function
  16. Interesting. Mine doesn't on my ford Kuga
  17. Exactly. I'm very lucky
  18. It could potentially be the fault. Ac compressor not seized etc? Also I believe lower pulleys are known to come loose on c5s. I had this on my 2.5 diesel
  19. Sounds daft but what condition is the battery in? A failing battery can cause all sorts of electrical issues

  22. Could be a wiring issue with the sensor.
  23. Yea I'm all ok. Brake fluid is definitely less than 2 years old. You know me Trevor I'm hot on maintenance. Especially with the nature of the work I do. It was scary to say the least. But could have been worse
