  1. Hope you have fun 🙂 I'm doing the London to Brighton modern classics run next weekend in my A6!
  2. Thank you 🙂 hoping it goes straight forward for the garage.
  3. Thanks so much for your advice Steve 🙂
  4. Seen this bargain (currently) set of winter tyres from a later A6 c7 like in the pictures. Does anyone know if they'll fit my c5? C7 Center bore is 66.6 on C5 it is 57.1 I don't think tyres will fit I have 225/50/17 so think they'd be quite tight. What's your opinions.
  5. Che k out buyers guides in YouTube. Usually virtual cockpit, tech packs with apple car play etc are extras along with upgraded b&o sound systems.
  6. I do t think it's sad at all, you've got me looking into it now. I'll be curious to see how you get on with the icarsoft.
  7. The car might have been sitting 3 months prior to registration maybe? Or the car has decided it needs a service now due to the computer/sensors picking up degradation of the oil for example. I'd be getting it booked in if it were mine.
  8. Also should I change the glow plug wiring harness while I'm at it? Or is that just over kill?
  9. Thanks Steve. Yep they've worked me they might need to get a specialist in if they can't get them out. They've assured me the car will be ready before Saturday when I do the London to Brighton modern classics run! I'll go with bosh then. Do you know who supplied the original relay? Was it bosh? I'd like genuine OE if possible instead of aftermarket parts. If it is aftermarket is there any you'd recommend? Thanks again for your help.
  10. Audi believes most of its owners are already Apple iPhone users which is why an integration with the gadget makers music streaming service makes sense Like its sister company Porsche which has integrated Apple Music as the default music streaming solution on its cars like the Taycan, Audi has also now done the same. Audi has integrated Apple Music in the MMI infotainment system which takes advantage of the wireless connectivity the car comes embedded with. Like Porsche, Audi posits a large pool of its customer base has iPhones which make the use of Apple Music very likely. Users will be able to access their personal Apple Music libraries by logging into their accounts on their vehicles without needing a connection from their phone or Apple Watch. This will be a fully seamless system where no USB connection or wireless Bluetooth sync will be needed. Apple Music has 90 million songs on the platform which includes thousands of playlists and personalised mixes and genre stations all add free. "Integrating Apple Music into the Audio infotainment system marks the next step in the collaboration between Audi and Apple," said Christiane Zorn, Head of Product Marketing at Audi. For our customers, it means that we are offering them direct access to their own personalized listening experience. This is our understanding of a premium digital in-car experience. At Audi, we are systematically driving the digitalization of the vehicle and we are convinced that the interior is increasingly developing into a third living space," he added. Audi says that Apple Music integration will be included in nearly all of its vehicles in Europe, North America and Japan starting with 2022 models. The integration will be rolled out to vehicles that are already on the road via over the air updates. In Europe, Audi has also detailed that streaming music will not incur extra charges as Cubic-Telekom will be providing specific data packs. In fact, 3GB will be for free. Audi has also worked with Apple to provide an optimal sonic experience. Audi has been working with Bang & Olufsen and the Apple Music experience will be tuned for vehicles that use its audio hardware. Like Apple Music, Bang & Olufsen sound systems on Audi vehicles support things like 3D audio, which can also be https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.carandbike.com/news/audi-adds-apple-music-as-default-streaming-app-on-many-models-2994429/amp

    No probs at all.

    Battery

On.tbe whole a replacement battery will have to be coded to the car. The life span of the battery should be 5-7 years so there should be plenty of like in it.
  13. Oo have fun! Let us know how the Q5 performs.
  14. Thanks kev 🙂 why are they better do you know?
  15. I'm going to be changing my glow plugs next week and getting my trusted local garage to do it (they've serviced the car since it was 3 years old). My A6 is the 2.5tdi V6 155bhp AYM engine. Mileage is currently 340,300 miles. I've asked them what manufacturer the glow plugs are and they said I have a choice between Bosh or NGK. price doesn't both me, I just want what's best. What do you guys think are best? Had a search online and on the c5 UK Facebook group with limited discussion on whats best. Just one guy saying bosh was best and is whats was fitted when new. Is that right? Also should I change the glow plug relay too for peace of mind? And if so is there any brand you'd recommend? Thanks for your advice 🙂
  16. There you are 🙂 it's a handy thing to know. What did you find out about yours? What options were selected when new?
  17. There should be a sticker In the wheel well listing the build info. In failing that is should be in the inside front cover of the service book. Once you have the codes you can use a vag options decoder.
  18. Loads of documented cases. Audi are still working on a fix but do t seem to quick or bothered about sorting it.
  19. I'd definitely start with a diagnostic check and then go from there.
  20. After googling the fault code it suggests it's a faulty oxygen sensor: http://u1025.enginetroublecode.com/audi-a1 Here's a sensor for sale on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143832354732?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=KUTl_YjoSSq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=IE07kO4STZy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY But the mechanic was right to say it could lead to a broken cat. Here's a reasonably priced one on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265155282678?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5zFN_KBLRBC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=IE07kO4STZy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  21. It could just be a sensor, broken wire or failed module. I'd definitely recommend a diagnostic check to see what fault codes flag up.
