  1. I believe premium membership is a subscription service on here and the reason why it's all free is due to advertising. I'm glad you raised this Gareth as I'd been having similar thoughts. At least it's not just me. I do agree that all forums will have this same issue of people ghosting. As I say, for me I just wish we could attract the same following as other clubs such as AOCUK & club Audi for example. Though the latter is a paid members only club.
  2. Thank you for your input Gregg, it's lovely to know that you find the forum useful and enjoy logging on. If and when I get to do the wild Atlantic way we'll have to have a meet up 🙂
  3. No probs at all. Please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  4. Thanks for your feedback. I personally don't feel a paid membership is the way to go. For me all I want is to have members who visit and contribute on the forum, Facebook or face to face at car shows regularly. The fact you're on here daily regularly is good enough for me 😊 as you say we're all different and I personally like going to the shows for the social aspect, seeing new places and the cars. I do enjoy helping people when they have questions or issues which is no different to my day to day job really
  5. That is more uncommon as most garages like to order the parts so they're fully covered I guess. My mechanic will usually order what my A6 needs unless it's more specialised or he can't get via is main sources.
  6. Glad you found the forum welcoming 🙂 and thank you for your comments on this. Are there any ideas/suggestions you have from things youve seen on other forums?
  7. I do fully appreciate where you're coming from Gareth, I've been speaking to Trevor about what we can do to retain members etc. My post can be found in our moderators section. I love helping others and setting up the shows but find it deflating when we get a low turn out for the shows. It's frustrating when you see fellow Audi clubs with large turnouts and we can only get a handful. This has got worse since COVID as we used to have good numbers prior. This includes loosing some regular members due to them joining other clubs or doing other activities. I think most people don't realise the level of investment the admin/moderators team make. You with your vast knowledge and in my case I research the topics once members ask a question which takes time. Plus updating the news section & Motorsport sections as well as the how to guides. I just wish we'd be able to increase our regular members base.
  8. The fact it hasn't got FSH with Audi shouldn't matter as the law dictates you can take your car to any VAT registered garage and as long as they've used genuine Audi parts your warranty would still stand. This came about as main dealers were locking customers in to servicing agreements which weren't best for the customer. I appreciate it is out if warranty but I'd still speak to Audi customer services as the component should not have failed at 50k miles. You could aldo register a claim with the motoring ombudsman. It would also be wise to get a quote from the Audi specialist you have it serviced with regularly to see what they quote.
  9. You're welcome 🙂 did you check the link I put in your other thread? Was it useful?

I'm guessing you bought from a private seller? If not I'd be taking it back to the dealer as it's definitely not normal. Audi did a recall regarding the shocks so it's worth seeing if the recall has been done. Also I believe leaks from the shocks or clinking are common signs it's failing. 11. Keep us posted on how you get on. I've been putting off a CCM change on my A6 for a while.
  12. Found this link which might help: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/audi-a1-191/audi-rmc-mmi-firmware-software-update-not-maps-2978650/
  13. If it's been purchased from a dealer then you can take it back for them to fix. I've found this picture, which lever are you missing? The one on the bottom or side of the seat? Have a search for Audi A3 8p seat adjuster etc on eBay or Amazon as I found a few.
  14. Welcome to the forum Matt, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 glad you're pleased with your S4 🙂
  15. Might be worth seeing if you can get it on demand, ie pay the subscription for it but can't guarantee it'll work as it might need to be done at Audi. This link on our forum will help:
  16. Now that's a stunner. It's funny, you've had it 20 years a d my family bought my A6 new 20 years ago. My dad owned it now me.
  17. I'd get another diagnostic check first to see if it is the same fault. As a failing MAF sensor etc could cause similar symptoms.
  18. Yep they do love water ingress. Please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  19. I fully get where you're coming from and if it can then it's the route I'd definitely take too 🙂
  20. It's what I'd personally do. I know how you feel though as Im going to have to bite the bullet and get another garage take a look at my CCM as my garage don't do major electrical work which the car requires. I've put it off as I'm dreading taking it somewhere else.
  21. Cliff could be on to something there. Let's face it, no one creates extra work by fitting additional wiring if there's wiring there, unless the old wiring can't take the extra power.
  22. At least now with a permanent issue it'll be easier to diagnose. Good effort with your diagnostics so far. As Gareth says I'd still get this to a garage. Any decent garage will have a battery tester (my local one certainly does for example). Besides getting the garage to do a battery test m, a diagnostic check is the next sensible option. Out of curiosity the battery or boot didn't have signs if water ingress did it? I ask as water into any electronics with Audi's causes them to go haywire and do some strange things.
  23. Jack has just got back to me, this is what he said: I had Stance+ coilovers. However they’re different based on engine size; the 1.6tdi and the smaller petrol’s have a solid rear axle rather than independent rear suspension like the rest of the models do
  24. Fantastic day at Jap Vs german show as well as a lovely drive through the Derbyshire dales and visit to Chatsworth house. Great selection of cars and great facilities which were very well priced! Here's some pics.
