Very depressing. The irony is that I don't think there's enough prescious metals for the batteries to get us to 2030. As you say Steve the aim is to price us off the road. However the only way round it all I see is to have an old Mercedes (1980s one) and run it on cooking oil. Or a Mercedes engine powered car.

Audi Australia has lifted pricing across its entire product range for 2022 by as much as $7600. According to Audi Australia corporate communications manager Shaun Cleary, the brand has passed on the increased cost of production as the industry battles with the ongoing global pandemic and shortage of semi-conductors. “This action reflects Audi’s continued commitment to its successful product strategy: a very high level of features in all segments, as expected by premium buyers,” he said. “The price increase has been brought about by rising material costs and continued supply challenges that are affecting Audi, like other manufacturers and other industries around the world.” As such, no changes to specifications or equipment are made in line with the price increases, and the changes will apply to all 2022-built vehicles, with the first shipment due to land in March. At the cheaper end of the range, the Audi A1 shoots up by $600 in each variant, with the range now kicking off at $33,800 before on-road costs. The A3 small car range – encompassing sedan and Sportback – is also up $300 across the board, while the more potent S3 and RS3 models have increased by $800. The A4 line receives a bigger increase in price, ranging from a $2100 in the A4 35 TFSI S-line sedan to $4500 in the RS4 Avant. Likewise, the A5 range that includes coupe, Sportback and cabriolet jump up between $3000 and $4900 depending on grade. Meanwhile, the A6 range is up between $3700 and $6300, but it’s the A7 line-up that have the biggest increases, with the 45 and 55 grades up $5700, the S7 increasing by $6400 and the top-spec RS7 jumping $7600 to $237,000. Rounding out Audi’s passenger car range is the TT coupe, which is up between $2900 and $4100. Moving to SUVs, the Q2 is now $1600 more expensive across the board, while the Q3 and Q3 Sportback models jump up between $2000 and $3300. As for Audi Australia’s most popular model, the Q5 mid-size SUV, prices are up $2800-$3900, while the mechanically related Q5 Sportback is up $3500-$3900. Audi’s Q7 moves up $4000-$4400 depending on grade, while the Q8 is up $4900-$7400. Finally, all variants of the e-tron electric car range steps up $2800 barring the newly introduced e-tron S Sportback that moves up only $2700. In 2021, Audi Australia sold 16,003 vehicles, slightly above 2020’s 15,868 tally. However, for the first month of 2022, Audi Australia’s sales dropped a noticeable 46 per cent compared with January 2021, with each of its lines – barring the Q5 that has been boosted by the newly-introduced Q5 Sportback shape – recording double-digit percentage declines. https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/price-rise-alert-audi-just-made-all-its-cars-more-expensive-in-australia-for-2022-85838

DETROIT, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Auto technology supplier Aptiv PLC (APTV.N) and Volkswagen AG's (VOWG_p.DE) Audi brand are investing a combined $285 million in vehicle software company TTTech Auto, giving the Austrian firm a valuation of $1 billion, the companies said. TTTech Auto designs software that auto manufacturers can use to manage data flowing from sensors and safety systems used to automate driving. The company's Motionwise software also helps engineers develop new automated driving and safety software more quickly. Aptiv will invest $228 million in TTTech Auto, while Audi is investing $57 million, the companies said in a statement. Established auto manufacturers such as Volkswagen are racing to secure more software expertise via acquisitions, hiring drives and equity investments as they try to catch up with electric vehicle leader Tesla Inc's (TSLA.O) ability to rapidly improve vehicles using software upgrades. TTTech Auto was formed in 2018 by aerospace firm TTTech Group, South Korean technology company Samsung, Audi and chipmaker Infineon. "We want to provide aerospace safety at automotive cost," TTTech Auto chief executive Georg Kopetz said in an interview. Aptiv, with annual revenue of $15 billion, is working to expand its business by supplying hardware and software for electric vehicles and automated driving systems. Aptiv, Audi and TTTech Auto collaborated to develop the central driver assistance controller for automated driving used in Audi vehicles. With the fresh capital, Kopetz said TTTech Auto plans to expand in Asia, look for potential acquisitions and invest in development of the Motionwise software, which is currently used in about 2 million vehicles. https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/aptiv-audi-invest-285-million-software-company-tttech-auto-2022-02-03/

Jay Hanson got his TCR Australia season off to the perfect start on Saturday, claiming both his and the new Audi RS3 LMS TCR’s first win in the series at Symmons Plains Raceway. Having qualified his Melbourne Performance Centre-run car in second earlier in the day, Hanson made the better start when the lights went out to leapfrog pole-sitter Nathan Morcom’s Hyundai into the first turn. Morcom’s HMO Customer Racing team-mate Josh Buchan then took second on the next lap, as Hanson began to open up an advantage of over a second over the chasing pack. Ultimately, Hanson would take a comfortable maiden win in the series, and the first for the new-spec Audi in a national TCR series, as a challenge from Buchan never really materialised in the calm season-opener. Buchan took the chequered flag over five seconds back, whilst Morcom would complete the podium in the second Hyundai i30. James Moffat was fourth in his GRM Renault, having passed Will Brown’s Audi for the position on the second lap of the race at the penultimate corner. Brown, the 2019 champion, had a challenging first race in his Audi, which was driven by Chaz Mostert to the 2021 title, as on the next lap he lost two further places to Aaron Cameron’s Peugeot and Zac Soutar’s Honda. After that, Brown would stabilise and hold position for the rest of the race in seventh, as Team Valvoline GRM’s Cameron held on to fifth and Soutar a career-best-equalling sixth in his privately-run Honda. Tony D’Alberto was the leading Wall Racing Honda in eighth, whilst the top ten was completed by Dylan O’Keeffe’s Peugeot and Brad Shiels’ Hyundai, after some fierce battling that also saw guest racer Fabian Coulthard briefly in tenth after battling hard with Shiels at the mid-stage of the race. Coulthard thus finished in 11th in his Honda and just missed out on the reverse grid, ahead of the recovering Michael Caruso in 12th, the Alfa Romeo driver having started from the back of the grid after qualifying troubles. HMO’s newcomer Bailey Sweeny had been occupying tenth until lap eight, when Shiels and Coulthard muscled through, and the youngster then dropped down the order over the following laps to ultimately take the chequered flag in 15th. Jordan Cox, who had qualified in tenth, had to start the race from the pitlane due to a technical issue, and could only recover to 16th in the race which featured no dropouts. Kody Garland failed to take the start, having withdrawn from the weekend after crashing his GRM Renault in practice. Sunday’s second race will see the grid formed by the top ten positions in qualifying being reversed. Another new change will mean that Sunday’s final race will feature a grid determined by the aggregate points scored in the first two races of the weekend. Race two is scheduled to get underway at 14:25 local time on Sunday (03:25 GMT, 04:25 CET) followed by race three at 16:20 local time (05:20 GMT, 06:20 CET). https://www.touringcars.net/2022/02/jay-hanson-claims-his-and-new-audis-maiden-tcr-australia-win

Sytner Audi dealerships have lined up to receive Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation in recent weeks. Slough, West London, Reading, Leeds, Nottingham, Derby and Bradford Audi are now on the scheme. The Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) scheme has been developed by the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) to recognise retailers’ excellence in the electric vehicle sector. EVA is endorsed by the Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and Energy Saving Trust. The scheme encourages dealerships to further develop their ability in selling and servicing electric vehicles. It recognises dealers’ expertise in the electric vehicle sector and promotes industry standards for the benefit of the consumer. Following two extremely successful years, which saw over two-hundred dealers obtain accredited status, the Government has renewed its co-sponsorship of the scheme. Energy Saving Trust independently audits individual dealerships to verify that they meet a set of standards covering EV sales and aftersales. These include the customer qualification process, staff knowledge and training, EV demonstration and handover processes as well as availability of EV service bays and charge points on site. Ray Campbell, Head of Business at Slough Audi, said: “We are delighted to receive our EVA accreditation at Slough Audi and it’s fantastic that the rest of the dealerships are now on-boarding and taking up this opportunity. Now customers can be reassured that here they will receive the best advice and support when buying an electric vehicle.” To gain the accreditation, Sytner Group colleagues undertook intensive training to show a sold understanding of all electric and hybrid model variants. In addition to this, after sales and technical colleagues received comprehensive training to understand every detail of EVs. Areas where colleagues have demonstrated knowledge include: charging an EV, different driving modes and their impacts, electric driving range and fuel consumption for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), guidance on servicing and maintenance of an EV and much more. https://www.motortrader.com/motor-trader-news/automotive-news/sytner-audi-dealerships-11-02-2022

The A1 will also be retired as the Four Rings are switching focus to bigger cars with higher profit margins. By: Adrian Padeanu One of the lesser-known models in Audi's vast range, the Q2 was launched in 2016 before getting a mid-cycle facelift about four years later. It won't live to see a second generation as the German luxury brand has other priorities, specifically focusing on bigger cars with higher profit margins. For this reason, the A1 supermini will also bow out after the current generation runs its course. The announcement about axing its smallest crossover was made earlier this week by Audi CEO Markus Duesmann in an interview with Handelsblatt (subscription required): "We have decided not to build the A1 anymore, and there will be no successor model from the Q2 either. We have also realigned Audi as a premium brand. We will limit our model range at the bottom and expand it at the top. We should point out the Q2 is not only built at home in Ingolstadt, but also in China where it goes by the name of Q2L to reflect its longer wheelbase for greater rear legroom. In addition, the baby crossover sold in the People's Republic comes in an E-Tron flavor with all-electric propulsion. The zero-emissions model is only sold locally and has a 38-kWh battery pack good for 165 miles (265 kilometers) of range based on the local NEDC test cycle. Elsewhere, Audi's entry-level Q model is offered in a potent SQ2 specification with standard Quattro and a 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque sent via a dual-clutch, seven-speed automatic transmission. The performance version is essentially a more luxurious version of the Volkswagen T-Roc R, which was facelifted in November 2021. The A1 and Q2 will be retired after the current-generation models when the A3 will effectively become the entry point into Audi's global lineup. Further down the line, the company will launch its last new vehicle equipped with a combustion engine in 2026 before ending production of ICE cars in 2033. However, the assembly of gasoline-fueled vehicles could continue for a few more years in China, depending on demand. Meanwhile, the lineup will grow to include the Q6 E-Tron due to be unveiled before the end of the year as Audi's first product based on the PPE platform co-developed with Porsche. In China, a Volkswagen Atlas-based SUV is said to arrive in 2022 with the rather confusing Q6 moniker. Also coming this year is the facelifted E-Tron, believed to change its name to Q8 E-Tron to better reflect its positioning in the range. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.motor1.com/news/566211/audi-q2-to-be-discontinued/amp/

Sebastian Vettel ‘begged’ to be driven by 1984 World Rally champion Stig Blomqvist in an Audi Quattro S1 at the Race of Champions and the Formula 1 driver called it a “magical” experience. Four-time F1 world champion Vettel was one of the stars of the show as the Race of Champions returned after a two-year absence caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The exhibition event has moved to the north of Sweden and became a snow-and-ice event for 2022, with rally legend Blomqvist on-site demonstrating the Group B Audi – which he won his title in – as part of the supporting action. Vettel jumped in the passenger seat for one of the Saturday demos, while seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson did the same on Sunday. Asked if this was a ‘bucket list’ experience, Vettel said: “More than that. I think the car is iconic, but then to have the chance to ride with the Stig – and the proper one not the made-up one! – has been really cool. “I’m very grateful that Stig still does these types of events and then I was begging to get into the car and I used the opportunity to go side by side. “It was magical in many ways. So I really enjoyed it. “In that car, I’m not sure I would be a passenger in a rally like the Monte Carlo or another one with the longest straights and faster corners! “But it was really cool.” Vettel was also a huge fan of experiencing ice driving thanks to the Race of Champions’ move, although he struggled on Saturday in the Nations Cup. Team-mate Mick Schumacher did the heavy lifting but could not prevent Team Germany from exiting at the quarter-final stage, by which point Vettel had won just one of his four heats. In the individual Champion of Champions competition on Sunday, though, Vettel was much more competitive and made it all the way to the final where he was beaten 3-1 by nine-time World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb. Vettel, whose consolation win in the final came after Loeb crashed, admitted he “did not expect that after yesterday” when he “struggled to really get the feel”. “This morning, getting into the groove, I felt more and more comfortable with every run,” he said. “I knew in the final it would be a big stretch. And I pushed really hard. I was in the snowbanks a couple of times, so maybe I pushed a little bit too hard! But I knew I had to go for it in order to be close with Seb. “Most of the runs it was very obvious [in Loeb’s favour]. With the electric rallycross car he did me a favour. “He didn’t know but I think I hit the snowbank first, so I was lucky to continue and then I saw him [stuck]. But I took it, I wasn’t sure how quickly he was coming back out and where we exactly were. “Then I tried a lot on the buggy, it was a bit closer that run, but in his favour and therefore he deserved to win.” https://the-race.com/formula-1/vettel-begged-for-magical-audi-quattro-ride-with-blomqvist/

Ah right. You could try getting them to reset the system then.

The Volkswagen Group that owns Audi is known for quite a few high-profile software blunders. The eighth-generation Golf and ID.3 come to mind. On the other hand, VW also happens to be quite talented at writing software. Remember when they managed to fool everyone with the promise of clean diesels by altering emission system software to meet emission standards? In any case, why is Audi calling back 665 vehicles in the United States? Back in October 2021, the four-ringed automaker called back 2,857 vehicles because the response time of the rearview camera image didn’t meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111. Come January 2021, a dealership informed Audi that the software update of the initial recall was not performed correctly in some of those vehicles. The subsequent investigation revealed a deviation in the flash code for the Q3, while other models included in the previous recall were deemed to be fine. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety by Administration, “a software error may prevent the rearview image from initially displaying when the vehicle begins to reverse.” That goes against the aforementioned safety standard, hence the need for a second recall. Dealers have been instructed to update the infotainment system free of charge, while notification letters will be mailed by April 8th. As of February 2022, Audi isn’t aware of warranty or customer claims due to this issue. Introduced in 2018 for the 2019 model year, the second-generation Q3 is the smallest crossover that Audi sells in the United States. For the 2022 model year, the compact utility vehicle retails from $36,400 sans destination charge. Over in Europe, the even smaller Q2 has been confirmed to bite the dust along the A1 city car due to dwindling sales for both nameplates. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/2022-audi-q3-recalled-over-rearview-camera-software-error-181505.html

So I've discovered my a6 now qualifies for the modern classics London to Brighton run now it's 20 years old! It's on the 29th May, anyone else interested? Usually my brother would come along on road trips with me but he will be away working. So I'm needing a navigator. https://www.classicmotorevents.co.uk/modern-classics

Hmm if it's asking for the part then I'd be changing the sensor. A remap should only be a deleting fault codes.

Automatic electronic parking brake not engaging
Steve Q replied to Alex Stevens's topic in Audi A3 (8V) Forum
This will need plugging in for diagnostics. Did the garage do any work on the rest brakes? As the handbrake should be put in service mode when works being carried out. -
Audi can be stingy on gadgets. It could be retrofitted. A couple of members have had retrofitted work done my autologics. Yea they should fold by hand.

With the electrical gremlins it's worth checking the quality of the battery as a failing battery can cause all sorts of electrical system issues.

That's great to hear ☺️

Here's a link to the sane issue. To be fair you've done everything on it so unless the tank float has got stuck on your car like the one on the thread. But you should look to taking it to Audi. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a7-192/2016-a7-p0087-code-2980341/page2/ On this link it's showing an issue with the fuel pump relay: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/3-0tdi-ccwa-low-fuel-pressure-dtc-p0087.238012/

Code P2755 transmission fluid cooler control circuit high
Steve Q replied to Asad's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Going from the original scan, when was the gearbox fluid last changed? If it's the dsg gearbox the gears can be affected if the oil is degrading. The throttle position sensor is more likely an issue I'd say then the others. -
Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ The easiest way to get Bluetooth is to change the head unit for one thst has apple car play/Android auto installed. Or alternatively get a parrot kit installed. Darryl's advice on the doors is spot on.

Boot unlock only unlocks with key no button on door
Steve Q replied to Johnymac's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
Could be the boot actuator or the remote fob receiver. Have you tried using the spare key to see if it definitely isn't the main key playing up? Also you could look at getting a diagnostic check carried out or get an auto electrician to take a look as it could be a broken wire. Also unsure if it would be relevant but has the car got wet carpets? I ask as the comfort control module is under the carpet passenger footwell. If the footwell gets wet and floods the ccm it can cause all kinds of weird electrical issues. -
I'd definitely be getting this back to the garage that did the work. My dad had a similar thing in a old land Rover defender and they had to change the Cambelt as it had been fitted incorrectly
