  1. I believe it's a well know issue. Here's a link to a similar ones: https://www.myaudiq5.com/threads/rattles-abound.36530/ https://www.myaudiq5.com/threads/please-help-me-locate-a-rattle-fixed.1128/
  2. What worries me is that it sounds like your mechanic might not be well equiped to work on your Audi. I'd definitely recommend a second opinion. Regarding the gearbox it might be worth getting a diagnostic check carried out to see if any fault codes flag up.
  3. If the car you're looking at has full service history then you should find a certificate that shows the car has had the recall. I worked at Volkswagen abd whst would happen, a customer would be given a certificate, and a pen and keyring in a box. Most e189 recalls was a ECU update (remap). So in theory a new remap could help reverse this. However some Audi models had an additional comment added which restricted the turbo or air intake I can't remember which as it was a long while ago I worked there.
  4. Hey Cliff thank you so much 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and all your family 😊 hope you have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year 🙂 Thank you for all your input on this site over the years, it's greatly appreciated 👍
  5. I thought there was two versions. They've done that for years going back to the d3 a8. I'm sure it'll be a great Soundsystem non the less.
  6. I believe it was an optional extra in certain models too. Naturally a coil spring version will be easier to maintain. As the complexity of air suspension can cause various issues. Including: Leaking bags Failed compressors Wiring issues Level sensor failures.
  7. When I worked in the motor trade wed tell customers to take 10mpg off the manufacturer figures to get a more accurate/true figure
  8. Hope you have a great Christmas too 😊
  9. Sounds like you've had some good work done. Your next steps could be to change the thermostat or get a diagnostic check to see if there are any fault codes regarding the heater control module/, switchgear
  10. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 glad you're pleased with your a3 👍
  11. Yea you'll need a sim, and I think the phone should work. I know the a8 and the a6 ones are the same.
  12. Truthfully any auto I've driven I've never moved it out of the usual drive mode. But this is msinly down to laziness lol.
  13. I'd definitely be asking the dealer you've ordered it from. As it used to be the case there was more than one spec level of B&O but my info might be a little out of date.
  14. That's great to hear 😊 an early Christmas present then! And for the work involved I think the price is reasonable 👍
  15. I'd be speaking to an auto electrician about this as it could be a wiring issue. As your car has Bose then the sub should be in the passenger side boot panel I think. The first thing I'd do if you're mechanically minded is take off the door cards and inspect the wiring. Also this link might help: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/111890-A6-2-5-TDI-SE-power-crackle-through-stereo-on-start-up
  16. Hey Martin you are correct your car wouldn't have had Bluetooth but a car phone has definitely been fitted from factory. The Audi phones are often Nokia ones and you can buy them from ebay. Alternatively you could get a parrot kit or similar or speak to a retrofitter to see if they can install factory Bluetooth into your mmi.
  17. I'd try euro car parts or similar motor factors. I had to get Sach rear shocks for my a6 as genuine Audi ones are no longer manufactured (my a6 from 2002). They seem ok but long term I think I'd like to invest in an uprated performance set up from Bilstein or similar.
  18. I believe E is eco mode. I suspect the car won't put itself in eco mode straight away as it wants to get the engine and gearbox up to running temperature. I think this should be mentioned in the owners handbook.
  19. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ Here's a guide to painting brake calipers I did:
  20. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ great to see another c5 on here. Looks to be in great condition 👍 My a6 is on 338k
  21. Thanks Gareth, hope you have a great Christmas and hope you have a happy healthy and prosperous new year 🙂
  22. It could have knocked the driveshaft or maybe damaged a wheel bearing.
  23. That is annoying. Sometimes the lense can be replaced but you have to hear the headlight up to soften the glue abd then replace the lense using new glue. If you can find a second hand headlight that would be your easiest option but not necessarily the cheapest.
  24. No probs, I feel.your pain. I'm chasing an issue with my central locking, alarm. It's been to an auto electrician and mechanic and they've fixed some fault's with the system but not all. I think I've diagnosed in it as a failing ccm. But it's an expensive gamble. I always guess there might be by aftermarket headunits available which could be an option.
