  1. Thanks Gareth, hope you have a great Christmas and hope you have a happy healthy and prosperous new year 🙂
  2. It could have knocked the driveshaft or maybe damaged a wheel bearing.
  3. That is annoying. Sometimes the lense can be replaced but you have to hear the headlight up to soften the glue abd then replace the lense using new glue. If you can find a second hand headlight that would be your easiest option but not necessarily the cheapest.
  4. No probs, I feel.your pain. I'm chasing an issue with my central locking, alarm. It's been to an auto electrician and mechanic and they've fixed some fault's with the system but not all. I think I've diagnosed in it as a failing ccm. But it's an expensive gamble. I always guess there might be by aftermarket headunits available which could be an option.
  5. My first thought bwas to try and buy a second hand unit but at £500 I can see your hesitation on this. If an electrical surge could be causing it then my port of call would be to get an auto electrician to check over the whole electrical system. Not sure if this is the right part for your car, but if it is then it could be an option? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A3-8V-2013-2019-MMI-MULTIMEDIA-UNIT-PANASONIC-8V0035874B-/265412137681?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  6. Sounds like a good plan 👍
  7. Is the pump working? I do feel your pain as I need a new ccm in my a6.
  8. You're most welcome, glad I could help 🙂 Believe it or not I believe you can even clean the lense with toothpaste! That'd be great to see your guide after you've done it ☺️
  9. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ Lovely looking a6 👍 bronze would work. Or dark grey?
  10. The lenses can be refurbed and there are plenty of videos on YouTube. Regarding the adjustment screw this link might help: https://www.ttforum.co.uk/threads/mk1-tt-headlight-adjustment-screw.362505/ I've also found this listing on ebay for replacement adjustment screws: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-FRONT-HEADLAMP-HEADLIGHT-ADJUSTER-FULL-KIT-SCREW-BUSH-SET-/193542983849?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  11. Thank goodness for that! Inflation isn't something they took into account. I do believe the country is being run by authoritarian chimpanzees. Actually that's insulting on chimps. Probably more like hyenas.
  12. I think a a3 space saver wheel should work.
  13. Glad you got sorted ☺️
  14. Is it cranking? Are there any lights on the dash? Could it be a dead battery?
  15. Yep it's not just you that's noticed it. I think most people are won over by the amount of warranty they come with. It's scary the price you pay for Toyotas now though! I'm in the same boat. I do t know what I'll change to next.
  16. I think your complaints are felt by lots of motorists with various companies. I have to say I hate vag adaptive cruise control as it can't predict cars moving over etc. We have a Ford van at work and find the lane departure warning ok. It doesn't jerk the wheel it just vibrates the steering wheel if you go over any line. Regarding the brakes, I often find the vehicle health checks ott. They'll tell you parts need changing even if there's 2k Miles in them. I worked as a service advisor for Volkswagen but not on commission to upsell work. Therefore I was straight with the customer telling them that the work wasn't needed yet but it was an advisory. But I was a minority as most service advisors get commission to upsell work on a health check.
  17. With the dsg gearbox the most important thing regarding it's reliability is it's serving schedule. Degrading/old oil can cause the box to stop shifting gears. Usually reverse.
  18. Even if this is true, how close is the grassed area from your home? I'd be careful.
  19. I've driven the new corolla and found it not to be a good car. Plus I found the last of the line avensis to be a disappoint too. It only achieved 36mpg from it's 2.0 diesel. Which is the same as I get from my old v6 a6! However I do believe Toyota have been hiding uneconomical engines behind the hybrid system. Needless to say I wouldn't buy a Toyota car but I've got nothing against Toyota pickups which I find good.
  20. DETROIT (AP) — Volkswagen's Audi luxury brand is recalling 289,000 SUVs in the U.S. because water can get into a control computer under the back seats. The recall covers certain 2021 and 2022 Q5 and SQ5 Sportback models and some 2018 through 2022 Q5 and SQ5 models. The company says in documents posted by U.S. safety regulators that water can get to the computer through liquid spilled onto the back seat, or from a leaky body seam. That can cause the computer to shut down and reduce engine power, increasing the risk of a crash. VW says in documents that it is not aware of any crashes or injuries. Dealers will install a cover to protect the computers and seal an underbody seam at no cost to owners. Notification letters will be mailed starting Feb. 24. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.theintelligencer.com/news/amp/Audi-recall-water-can-enter-computer-reducing-16704118.php
  21. SAO PAULO -- Audi says it will resume production in Brazil in mid-2022. The Volkswagen Group premium brand plans to build the Audi Q3 and Audi Q3 Sportsback models in a plant operated with its parent company in Sao Jose dos Pinhais in the Brazilian state of Parana. The move comes a few months after Ford announced that it would wind down operations in Brazil and Argentina. Audi had halted the assembly line in 2020 after the end of the production cycle of the previous version of the Q3 SUV. In November, VW suspended production in the market due to a lack of electric components. The company did not say how much it will invest in restarting production, which still depends on agreements with the federal government, that are expected to be completed next year. https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/audi-will-resume-q3-output-brazil
  22. Audi was back out testing the high-riding version of the A3 Sportback on public streets. The A3 “Allroad” will give customers a bit more off-road capability without making the switch to a crossover. We previously saw this car, also in plug-in hybrid guise, testing in November in a much brighter shade of green. Now, the car features a more subdued black but it still gets slightly widened fenders and a bit more ride height. Expect this to get the full Allroad treatment, with special bumpers that suggest capability and plastic fender flares that help mark it out from the rest of the lineup. Although we called it the “Allroad” above, we mainly did so because of its familiarity in the North American market. Despite that, the name has reportedly not been confirmed yet, and whether or not Audi chooses the name that its bigger cars use, or will call this a “City Carver” like the smaller A1 remains to be seen. Since it’s based on the VW-developed MQB platform, like the A1, it’s unclear how Audi will decide. Nor is it quite clear if it will be offered with AWD. So far, we’ve only seen the PHEV version of the car testing (as can be seen by the charge port flap near the front of the car). As it stands, the A3 lineup’s plug-in hybrid models all power the front wheels. The A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e combines a 1.4-liter engine with an electric motor, which puts 242 hp (256 PS/180 kW) to the wheels. Just because we’ve only seen the hybrid, though, doesn’t mean it’s the only model that will be available. If it is only offered in FWD, though, that could dissuade Audi from using the Allroad name, which is so far only used on vehicles with AWD. Since only the A3 sedan is sold in North America, we don’t expect to see this model showing up stateside anytime soon. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.carscoops.com/2021/12/audi-a3-allroad-spotted-testing-in-appropriately-snowy-conditions/amp/
  23. Flagship Audi Q8 e-tron electric SUV will share the same PPE underpinnings as the upcoming Q6 e-tron Audi will add a range-topping all-electric SUV to its line-up in 2026 with a new Q8 e-tron model that will replace the existing e-tron off-roader in the brand’s line-up. The new Audi Q8 e-tron will likely be based on the same PPE platform that will underpin the soon-to-be unveiled Q6 e-tron; PPE is being jointly developed by Audi and Porsche and will further develop the brand’s electric technology in the premium segment, building on Audi’s development of the e-tron GT, which shares its J1 platform with the Porsche Taycan. That means the new Q8 e-tron will feature a similar 800-volt electrical system to the most expensive Audi and Porsche EVs, which is compatible with DC rapid charging speeds of up to 270kW according to Audi’s own information on the platform. Depending on battery size (details as yet unconfirmed) this could deliver a five to 80 per cent charge in less than 25 minutes. Given that the Q6 e-tron will likely offer in excess of 380 miles of range on a full charge, depending on the Q8 e-tron’s battery size it could even eclipse this figure. The two SUVs will likely use the same powertrains and could carry over the dual-motor, four-wheel drive system from the e-tron GT. In this car the base-model offers 469bhp (or 523bhp with overboost engaged), while a performance-focused RS version could match the RS e-tron GT’s 636bhp output. Unlike the Q6 e-tron (which will be assembled in Ingolstadt), the Q8 e-tron will be built at Audi’s plant in Brussels, which currently handles production of the e-tron and e-tron Sportback SUVs. When the e-tron range reaches the end of its life in 2025, the factory will be retooled to suit the new Q8 e-tron and the firm’s next-generation PPE architecture. Audi hasn’t yet released any images of the new Q8 e-tron, but we expect the EV will feature the brand’s EV styling cues, including slim headlamps, a blanked-off grille and chunky proportions that we’ve already seen on the firm’s smallest electric SUV, the MEB-based Q4 e-tron, as well as spy shots of the upcoming Q6 e-tron. Expect Audi’s new flagship SUV to feature plenty of advanced technology inside and a bold new design that could draw inspiration from the firm’s Grandsphere concept, adopting some of the features from Audi’s newly developed MMI touchless response system. This adds gesture controls for the climate functions and increases the amount of autonomous driver assistance technology – potentially as far as a Level 3 system depending on legislation. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.autoexpress.co.uk/audi/e-tron/356867/new-audi-q8-e-tron-confirmed-launch-2026%3famp
  24. This topic on the forum might help: The delivery time will also depend on whst options are selected. At this current time I'd advise you to had at least 2-3 months to any delivery time they say. As I can't see the chip shortage going away any time soon.
