  1. Yea looks like a faulty switch.
  2. This is the problem, the more tech they cram into cars the more unreliable they become. Which is a shame as the engineering aspect of cars and mechanical components have come on leaps and bounds. But now being let down by electrics abd computers. Good news though you can still buy a new lada niva if you want something simple and less boring than a Dacia lol
  3. Done are screwed on others are welded on. The problem with screws is that they rust making it very hard to remove the trim. It's not unheard of the trims having to be cut off.
  4. Two different shows but both worth going too ☺️ simply Audi is the better show in my opinion. There's more of us going to simply Audi compared to audis in the park.
  5. Fantastic news! Glad you got it sorted family easily 🙂
  6. That's not good. How many model years are affected I wonder?
  7. Yep it's an option, it's just a case of finding one. S line trim or higher is the nice spec.
  8. Welcome to the forum Graham you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️
  9. Ive pinned this at the top of the section as your walk through was great. Really think it'll help other members 🙂
  10. Have tiu checked to see if the roof is closing properly?
  11. Nice 🙂 when are you test driving it?
  12. I think it depends on the mmi you have as some are hardwired and as such have to be updated only at Audi.
  13. No probs, sorry I can't help more.
  14. I suppose it depends on the age of the Audi. In my case I would be worried about using main dealers now but my a6 is 19 years old. However my wife and I both use main dealers for our modern daily drivers (mine Ford kuga, hers a jag both under 5 years old).
  15. Sorry no one has responded. Truthfully I've never bothered with anything like this. And after 335k miles (all done by my dad and I) I'm not too worried. The biggest issue on modern diesels are dpfs clogging.
  16. From my experience of wings I've got pattern parts on my a6 currently. Next time I need some I'm going to try a f get genuine ones.
  17. Good luck 🙂 is it in Ireland or in northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales.
  18. Would it not be easier looking for one in northern Ireland, or depending where you are in Ireland look for one in Wales or Scotland near hollyhead or Cairnryan?
  19. You're welcome, sorry it was wrong. Just can't think where else it could be.
  20. You're welcome. Your alternative option is to have a diagnostic check to see what fault codes flag up. Or take it to an auto electrician.
  21. The Red Bull Ring will host a technical meeting to discuss the future of Formula 1’s power unit on July 3rd ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, which will include bosses from several major manufacturers. F1 is set to replace its current 1.6L V6 hybrid power unit from 2025 and discussions have been ongoing to determine what the future power unit should look like. Whilst it’s unlikely to be a major departure from what is currently powering the sport, F1 bosses are keen to reduce its complexity and development costs to attract new manufacturers. This could be achieved by dropping the complex MGU-H and relying solely on the MGU-K for electric energy. There will likely be a move to standard parts to bring costs down and this meeting is aimed at deciding what direction to go in, that would satisfy the most parties. The meeting, which takes place on the Saturday of the Austrian GP, will involve the current manufacturers; Daimler chairman Ola Källenius, Renault CEO Luca de Meo, Ferrari’s John Elkann and Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz, as well as F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, motorsport director Ross Brawn and outgoing FIA president Jean Todt. Also involved in the meeting will be Porsche CEO Oliver Blume and Audi’s Markus Duesmann. The VW Group (VAG), which covers Porsche and Audi, have previously been involved in engine discussions which ultimately didn’t result in them joining the championship, though they came very close to a deal with Red Bull prior to the ‘Dieselgate’ scandal, which cost the manufacturer billions in fines and forced the company to scale back. There’s hope these latest talks will persuade one of VW’s brands to become involved as an engine supplier to replace Honda, which will depart at the end of the current season. Although Red Bull will continue to use its power units up until 2025, it hasn’t yet committed to anything beyond that. The talks will centre on determining what is the best way forward for F1. The base power unit will remain a V6 running eco-fuels, but will likely utilise a larger battery for increased energy recovery. There has also been hints that F1 could look at four-wheel drive, with an electric motor powering the front wheels. https://www.motorsportweek.com/2021/06/28/porsche-and-audi-to-join-f1-engine-meeting-in-austria/
  22. BERLIN -- Audi plans to build a battery-powered version of its range-topping SUV, the Q8, at its plant in Brussels, securing the factory's future, according to Automobilwoche, a sister publication of Automotive News Europe. Production on the vehicle, which will be called the Q8 e-tron, will begin in 2026, according to the report, which cited company sources. The plant currently builds the Audi e-tron and e-Tron Sportback EVs, which are due to get a facelift in 2023, then go out of production in 2026. The two cars are underpinned by Audi's MLB Evo platform, which is being phased out and replaced by the Premium Platform Electric. The Q8 e-tron will replace the Q8, which is built at Volkswagen Group's factory in Bratislava, Slovakia and sold only with combustion engines including hybrid drivetrains. Audi sold 5,313 units of the Q8 in Europe through April, up 37 percent year-on-year, according to JATO Dynamics market researchers. Audi's works council welcomed the decision to allocate the Q8 e-tron to the Brussels plant. "For us, it's important that that Audi models are produced at Audi locations," a works council spokesman told German motoring magazine auto motor sport. Audi's employee representatives have been lobbying for parent Volkswagen Group to add more electric-car production to the luxury brand's factories. The works council is reported to be unhappy that the Audi Q4 E-Tron is being built at VW's plant in Zwickau, Germany, alongside its MEB platform siblings the VW ID3 and ID4, and Cupra Born. Skoda's MEB-based electric SUV, the Enyaq, is being produced at the brand's main plant in Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic. Questions over the future of the Brussels-based plant arose last year after the site lost a bid to build Audi's new flagship electric sedan, codenamed the Landjet and developed by its Project Artemis. The sedan is scheduled to start production in 2024 alongside versions for Porsche and Bentley. That bid was won by VW's commercial vehicles factory in Hanover, Germany, leaving the Belgian plant without a follow-up project for the e-tron and e-tron Sportback, currently the only vehicles produced at the site. The plant is more than 70 years old, with the first vehicle rolling off the production line in 1949. It currently employs 3,076 people. According to Automobilwoche, the final decision on the production location for the Q8 e-tron will be made in November during the company's next planning round. This would allow enough time to ensure the plant has enough capacity to produce the SUV. When contacted by Automotive News Europe, an Audi spokesperson said the company would not comment on speculative news reports. Audi said on June 22 that it will phase out production of combustion engines by early next decade except in China, as the company accelerates its transition to becoming an electric-only automaker. https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/future-audis-brussels-plant-secured-new-top-end-electric-suv-report-says
