2019 A4 Wired Car Play worked, but now does not.
Steve Q replied to HeadlessChicken's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
Might be worth trying a different phone, so at least you can eliminate that as the problem. Or get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up -
As it's under warranty this should go back to Audi for a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Besides the sensors there could be wiring. Have you checked the fuse?
-
Have the injectors or injector seals been checked? I appreciate this is more for diesel smell rather than exhausts but if it's running rich then that win help. Has it had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up? I'm assuming the exhaust system and cat has been checked?
-
Nice one, at least we're in the right track. So either turbo or the sensor. Dhd you check the boost pipes?
-
I wasn't sure either, I was thinking more along the lines of a new one being fabricated.
-
Don't forget dpf and egr issues with diesels too. As you've highlighted service history is key, and in a car this age you'll be looking to see cambelt and water pump change, gearbox oil services etc. make sure all electrical items work. Have you watched buyers guides on YouTube?

Another option is local metal fabricators. Here's some I've found in Lancashire: https://www.brimetlancashire.co.uk/?gad_source=1 https://kneesengineering.co.uk/fabrication/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA3ZC6BhBaEiwAeqfvyl9kLQwYi2lhHPMqLibi0BElkq3-qbtxFgr1NTnzzuVNYdigRVONChoC_NUQAvD_BwE https://rpfabs.co.uk/services/ And let's not forget Motorsport specialists as they often have to fabricate all sorts: https://www.swmotorsports.uk/ https://www.elitefabrications.co.uk/ Hope one of these can help 🙂

Credited to Frank Montesinos: "Figured I'd post this in case it helps someone else. If you've had what sounds like a buzzy/blown center speaker on the dash, it might just be the grille vibrating. It was really bad with loud phone calls. I just pulled the grill/vent trim piece and added small, thin felt pads. I first just did it mostly around the speaker, but still had some minor buzzing, so I went back and added more. For reference, this is a 2013 A6 3.0T with the Bose system."

Cliff does raise a very good point. You should get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up

I'd advise against st this kind of thing as all it's doing is tricking the ECU into thinking the conditions it's assessing are different to what they actually are. You'd be better with a proper remap done on a rolling road.

I appreciate this is for an A4 but similar principles apply: And this one is for an A6 c8 but again similar principles

Great work! 👍

Not sure then and it's odd the information online is vague. If you find out please let us know.

Can the front Audi rings be removed from the front grill A1?
Steve Q replied to Baz1122's topic in Audi A1 Club
Looks good glad you got sorted -
No probs at all please keep us posted on how you get on
-
It might just be one of the boost pipes leaking or split. Check where it joins up as they can flex here when under pressure
-
I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Limp mode would come with an engine management light. It could be an issue with the turbo
-
It has to be the exact same part number for it to work properly. If looking on eBay don't forget to include international sellers. See if you can open it up and dry it out.
-
If the head gasket is going then this should be one of the main concerns. I'd recommend getting a compression test done. You'll also need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up

1. Choose your snow foam Before getting started, you will need to select a suitable snow foam for your car. Depending what you are looking for, you can choose from a variety of strengths for different cleaning tasks. You can even select from a range of rainbow colours and scents to make it a little more exciting. 2. Rinse your car We recommend first giving your car a quick rinse in cold water before spraying the snow foam. This will allow you to get the top layer of dirt off your car before the foaming begins. So grab your pressure washer and start rinsing your motor down. 3. Fill your lance To apply snow foam properly, you’ll need a snow foam lance. This is what you’ll equip to your pressure washer with the snow foam inside. Depending on the size of your car, you’ll need between 100ml and 200ml of snow foam liquid in your lance per wash. Use it sparingly as a little will go a long way. Simply pour the liquid in first, then dilute with another 400ml to 600ml of warm water if necessary. It’s important to note that various brands of snow foam may have different ratios of water to formula so be sure to check this on the packaging. 4. Connect your lance to the pressure washer Attach the snow foam lance to your pressure washer. While the lance will typically come with a connector for your pressure washer, it’s important to ensure you have the correct connector for your specific washer, as this may vary. 5. Spray snow foam on your vehicle Snow foam softens dirt so as not to get scratched into the paint during the washing process. Now this is the fun part! Slowly walking the length of your vehicle on one side at a range of about three feet, start spraying the snow foam. Once you’ve sprayed the bottom, walk back along the same line to cover the top half of the same side. Complete this same process around each side of your vehicle and the roof until the entire car is well covered. Remember, walk slowly to ensure you cover every patch of bodywork. The snow foam won’t wash the dirt away, it will simply soften it in preparation for the car shampoo. 6. Wait several minutes Once the entire car is covered in snow foam with no missed patches, leave it to sit for a couple of minutes. The foam will do its magic whilst you wait, tackling all the grime and dirt you have accumulated on your car since you last cleaned it. Try and avoid leaving the foam on your car for more than a few minutes as it will start drying onto the car which can make it harder to wash off. 7. Jet wash the vehicle Once you have waited a couple of minutes, detach the lance and rinse off the foam in neat sections with cold clean water from your pressure washer. We recommend working in lines from the bottom up to maximise your chances of removing grit and grime particles. 8. Follow up Last but not least, follow up with your preferred method for washing your car, whether that involves shampooing or applying a ceramic wax. Then dry using a microfibre cloth or car blow dryer if you have one. Guide credited to: https://www.parkers.co.uk/car-advice/how-to-use-snow-foam/

To get going, follow these simple steps: Step 1 Register on myAudi by clicking on this link: login.audi.com Step 2 Add your vehicle to your account – you will need to have your vehicle chassis number (VIN) to hand. Step 3 Locate your 8-digit Audi Connect PIN under your vehicle profile. You can add this to your vehicle MMI under Audi Connect > Login Step 4 If you have Audi Connect Safety and Service, you need to verify yourself as the ‘Primary user’ following the activation steps under myAudi > Audi Connect User Management. Step 5 Scratch the 10-digit code on your vehicle key tag and enter this into your vehicle MMI under Menu > Audi Connect > Audi Connect User Management > Primary User > Set primary user in your car. Steps 4 & 5 are clearly not applicable if you've not got the Audi Connect Safety and Service, which is SOS

For those of you that are stuck at replacing your external door mirrors. I managed to track down this small guide . You have to remove the window assembly carrier and window frame .The wiring goes in a channel between door window and frame . Hope this helps. Credited to Paul Fox

Just tried to do some research on this. The lite version allows you to charge your phone as well as adding as a signal booster for your phone via the cars antenna. Whereas I think phone box integrates to the cars mmi seamlessly via carplay etc as well as the functions of lite. I could be wrong though.

You're welcome 🙂

Yes it can be retrofitted but it's expensive and could void your warranty. You'd be better asking the dealer if it can be fitted now.
