  1. It could be the antenna aerial amplifier at fault, which is either located on the inside of the roof or on the boot side.
  2. My advice would be to get a diagnostic check as I wouldn't have thought the boot loader would affect either function. The fact it has is very odd. But with any electrical issues I would look at the battery first. If the battery is failing bit can through up all sorts of electrical gremlins. Looking online there seems to be a lot of people with similar problems without a definite fix. My advice would be to change the steering wheel control buttons with a second hand init to see if that fixes the issue. Other than the battery the only other way I can see them being linked is if you've got paddle shifters on the steering wheel to change gear.
  3. Does sound like a thermostat. You could always do a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. You're doing the right thing changing the water pump. I've not head of the 3.2 fluctuating in temp
  4. You're welcome, please keep us posted 🙂
  5. You'd be better buying an a8 without it as I believe it's an option depending on year abd engine. I don't think disabiling it would work as I think the door mechanism are slightly different from soft close verse non soft close. "According to my 2012 A8 brochure, I know your car is a 2014. Soft close doors were an option on the 3.0t A8s, but standard on the 4.2 & W12 A8s. The soft close doors are part of the Convenience Package. Convenience Package: Audi advanced key—keyless start, stop and entry; parking system with front and rear sensors; power soft-closing doors; and power trunk open/close"
  6. I think it's an option, so you'd be best going for a car that doesn't have it in my opinion
  7. Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. If you have an a8 you'll be a very popular taxi driver. We had a member with an a8 D3 w12 as a taxi and he said people would ask for him because of the car when they rang up the firm he worked for.
  8. That was the only diesel option. Petrol engines in the mk2 were a 1.8tfsi or a 2.0tfsi. I'd avoid the 2.0 as it has nothing but issues in the a5 etc. And if it goes wrong you might find it hard to find someone who will work on it. I speak from personal experience, my mate struggled to find someone to put a new timing chain on her a5. I think the diesel is the best option personally.
  9. If you're looking at diesel then to my knowledge this was only available with a 170bhp 2.0 litre unit. With quattro make sure all tyres are the same brand and tyre wear is even as uneven wear can damage the quattro system.
  10. My advice would be to get a diagnostic check carried out or get an auto electrician take a look. It could be: Broken wiring for the sensors Failed sensor module Failed sensor speaker Broken sensor (but less likely as all aren't working) sensor in the gearbox/stick that failed... so it doesn't register the car going in reverse, hence no beep, no lights, no parking sensors... This I think is most likely.
  11. Definitely. Hadn't realised it affected all brands to be honest
  12. !Removed! nightmare. Might be worth you speaking to dvla about the owner situation to see if they can rectify that.
  13. This might help, it appears the car is reading other signs with numbers as speed limits hence why it's braking harshly! I appreciate this is for a q5 but I bet the system is similar in if not the same. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-sq5-mkii-discussion-218/2020-sq5-adaptive-cruise-failure-2986175/
  14. Hadn't realised that's affecting Audi. I know it's affecting jaguar.
  15. Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Looks a lovely car 👍
