  1. If it's the original then I'd strongly recommend you get it checked at Halfords or similar as the battery could be on the way out as the life expectancy of a battery is between 5-7 years. Cheers Steve
  2. Most likely the tyres and to be fair I think the quattro system sends most power to front wheels normally. Might be worth getting a diagnostic check in case there's an issue with traction control.
  3. I had a similar problem abd it was the driver's door mechanism. Cost me £120 to sort.
  4. Not sure on their location there's also Audi retrofits. Not personally used them though: https://www.facebook.com/audiretrofit/
  5. I'd advise a diagnostic check to see what fault codes flag up. It does sound like an issue with the head unit and a replacement might be required to cure the issue.
  6. Have to agree with Gareth, if bought from the dealer then take it back asap to sort. Should be do e FOC as it's within 30 days of purchase.
  7. You're most welcome, please keep us posted on how you get on 👍
  8. Listening to the video there seems to be a slight whine noise too. The tapping does seem loud, but it's definitely worth checking to see if it happens when engine is warm.
  9. No probs, I do agree it's unlikely and probably something more simple. I just go off personal experience. Please keep us updated on how you get on.
  10. Look for water ingress into the cabin as the roof and it's seals will now be over 20 years old. If you need a new roof this could cost you £2k at a guess. Mechanically it should be ok as long as service as been kept too. If it needs a cambelt and water pump change then factor a bill of £500-£600. Also speaking from personal experience of running a an old Audi almost daily, you may need to factor in high repair costs. My a6 has been owned by me and my father before me a d it has been maintained regardless of cost. This year already it has had it's routine service & mot, plus two boot struts, a window regulator a d us going in next week for the central locking and alarm to be looked at. My a6 is sentimental so I won't get rid of it, but I do have a newer car for daily use. It's not all bad though, for example my a6 completed 2,253 miles to abd from Scotland whilst doing the north coast 500 and didn't skip a beat once.
  11. Now that's a lovely cabriolet. No wonder you're pleased ☺️
  12. I wouldn't be surprised, that is a common cause of electrical gremlins. Sorry I can't help more.
  13. £500-£600 is about right for a cambelt and water pump change.
  14. I've seen a company called light retrofit which concentrate on vag cars. I think it would cost at least £500 to retrofit.
  15. I think a replacement chain and tensioner is probably the outcome.
  16. When ever I want to source brochures or handbooks I first try ebay ☺️
  17. My advice would be to try ebay.
  18. I think it's behind the trim in roughly the same location.
  19. It might be worth speaking to the supplier.
  20. Are you thinking cosmetic or performance? Performance wise a k&n filter or induction kit might not be a bad addition along with a remap.
  21. I'd like to think it would, but my best advice is to ask the dealer who's supplying the car.
  22. Can't say I've ever used one, but I know you can get solar panels that plug into the cigarette lighter to charge the battery.
  23. I think this is a common occurrence.
  24. You're welcome, glad to hear the battery is in good condition. Worse case scenario it could be a failing steering rack as I think it can cause the steering to become weighted to the left or right on other cars (old fiat puntos for example).
