  6. Six-cylinder TDIs with up to 282 horsepower are now compatible with renewable fuel. "Decarbonization" – it's a word you'll be hearing a lot going forward as automakers are gradually phasing out combustion engines to make way for an array of EVs. Audi has jumped on the electric bandwagon by announcing 2025 will be the last year when the Four Rings will introduce a new combustion-engined car. Starting with 2026, the Ingolstadt-based company is going to launch only EVs. Come 2033, the production of cars running on fossil fuels will come to an end. However, Audi has said the ICE could live on for a few more years in China, depending on customer demand. In the meantime, the German luxury marque is updating some of its much-criticized diesel engines to run cleaner by making them compatible with renewable fuels. Compatible with V6 TDIs producing up to 282 horsepower (210 kilowatts), HVO stands for hydrotreated vegetable oil. It represents Audi's intermediary method to curb emissions before pulling the plug on the oil burner. Many of the six-cylinder engine configurations have been tweaked to run on the more sustainable fuel and have been leaving the factories in this cleaner setup since mid-February. Compared to the ol' diesel, Audi claims CO2 emissions are down by a whopping 70 to 95 percent. There's also a side benefit to adopting HVO since it has a 30-percent higher cetane rating, thus enhancing the combustion process. That should pay dividends during cold winter mornings, but there are only about 600 fuel stations in Europe where you can find HVO. Most of them are located in Scandinavia and only a few are at home in Germany. HVO-compatible TDI engines are currently available for the A4 through A8 models, along with the Q7 and Q8. Audi's engineers have prioritized the most popular diesel-fueled models, which is why the Q5 will follow early next month. The A6 Allroad is going to receive the same treatment this summer. Elsewhere, the Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI can also feed on sustainable fuel. The latest decarbonization process follows a similar method applied back in June 2021 for the Q2, A3, and Q3 models equipped with a four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. Some of the four-pot TDIs in the A4 through A7 models plus the Q5 were made compatible with HVO in select countries last summer. In the long run, Audi and the whole Volkswagen Group will introduce combustion engines developed to accept renewable synthetic fuel. https://www.motor1.com/news/569338/audi-v6-tdi-renewable-fuel/
  7. Definitely sounds like dpf and or egr. You can try and clean it by removing it. Alternatively you can get a garage to do a forced regeneration. But ultimately you might need a new dpf or egr or both.
  8. Definitely have a look at YouTube buyers guides. I believe these engine have a timing chain. And not all garages want to work on them when this job is needed. Always check service history as it shouldn't be skimpt on.
  9. Nice one! That makes two of us 🙂
  10. Think you'll need new ballast modules.
  11. When I had mine done on my c5 V6 it cost around £600.
  12. Have you had a diagnostic check? Also have you checked the new battery to see if it's dead. If so then there could be a battery drain.
  13. Tickets have now gone on sale 🙂 I've just bought mine 🙂
  14. I've just booked my tickets for the show 🙂
  15. It's advisable. My advice would be to ring round abd get quotes from various garages. Including other Audi franchises.
  16. DAB

You could upgrade the headunit with one that's got apple car play etc.
  17. No probs at all glad I could help 😊
  18. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️
  19. As you say could be an engine or gearbox mount. Had something similar on my wife's jag last month. It needed two engine mounts. As in your case you could see the engine move.
  20. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  21. I'd definitely recommend a diagnostic check to see what fault codes flag up.
  22. Haynes I'm sure do one if tiu check the website. Alternatively you could try the Bentley manuals.
  23. This is really bad. The only way you'd get anywhere is reporting it to trading standards but with witness statements from the mechanics at the garage. And from the garage that fixed it.
  24. Oi lol. To be fair it's been a reliable daily. The Audi is in semi retirement lol.
  25. My advice would be to get it booked in for audi to adjust the boot. I had something similar on a ford kuga
