  1. Was it bought privately or via a dealer?
  2. Had a look on YouTube. Here's a couple of vids that might be useful Seat removal
  3. Thought I'd do a guide highlighting which Audi models had a timing chain or Cambelt driven 4.2 V8 for reference. All C5 models equipped with the 4.2 V8 excluding allroad is belt driven which is much better to service, and All D2 A8,S8, and D3 A8 up to 2006 The models that use the modified FSI chain driven 4.2 V8 engines are the C5 Allroad (BAS engine code), C6 A6, D3 A8, and A8L starting in 2007, S4, RS4, Q7. An engine pull is required to service the timing chain on these FSI units due to the location being at the back of the engine next to the firewall. overall the belt driven engines are better serviceable and also have less issues if well maintained. The chain driven 4.2 is known for overheating issues and timing chain issues.
  4. Can't recommend trees but I'd recommend a full wheel alignment and Speedo recalibration as it could be out more than normal.
  5. I'd suspect that the bag isn't inflating and changing it is the only option.
  6. Sorry this wasn't answered. Your probs best transferring any door modules etc from your current car so it doesn't throw any fault codes etc. Glad you got sorted 🙂
  7. Glad we've helped, please keep us posted on how you get on once you've picked it up 🙂 Changing the glass with genuine tinted glass would be costly. Especially the side boot windows as these are bonded into the car body. I paid £120 (very good price) for one to be replaced after someone smashed one of mine. Door windows are more straightforward to change. Not sure about the boot window, but I believe it's bonded in also.
  8. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  9. Has it come with a spare key, if so try it either that first. As it could be an issue with the key (most likely) or an issue with the receiver. If bought from a dealer in the last 30 days then the supplying dealer should fix this FOC.
  10. I'd recommend you speak to other remappers such as revo, darkside developments, Celtic tuning as example.
  11. Speaking from an owner from a similar aged Audi (A6 C5) Interior trim is hard to come by and some external trim is becoming short supply. Service history is key and make sure there's no smell of damp ect of water ingress. Check footwells for damp carpets. Make sure all electronic items work as they can be expensive to change.
  12. You can get the adblue system and egr mapped out with a remap I believe. Just bare in mind any not tester that believes you've tampered with the emissions system of the vehicle can report you. But if done by a remap and the hardware still in place like the egr then they'd have no reason to believe it's been deactivated if you see what I mean
  13. Thanks for the links Kev. Annoyingly last week I discovered from my mechanic that if I buy any 2.5tdi engine and keep my current injection pump and ECU the car will think the replacement engine is the original and will run. Wish I'd known that a year ago instead of worrying about coding of injection pumps and imobilisers etc. So my simplest option is to find a bau version of the 2.5tdi as this was the last variation of that engine and most refined in theory. Trying to find one with low miles and proven service history, but naturally this is proving difficult.
  14. Just curious 😉
  15. What's the engine code of the A4?
  16. Sorry Gareth, I was just questioning what the interval would be as it's an 8 year old car, and I thought it's usually 5 years or 120k, but I could be wrong and it could have already been done previously.
  17. I'd suspect it's a one piece. I'd recommend looking on eBay for A5 door trim.
  18. From looking online this spec is very rare. I'd estimate it's worth between 2-3k.
  19. Sorry this hasn't been responded to yet. Your list of what you plan to do is fantastic. And should give you peace of mind. When is the Cambelt and water pump needs changing? If you're concerned about any hidden nasties then you could look at getting a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. I've heard nothing but good things about Autologics as other members have used them and been pleased with their service.
  20. Kev, is one who likes to save old old audis on here.
  21. Make a note of the code but clear it and see if it comes back over the next week. You have 30 days from the day of sake for a full refund or for the garage to fix it FOC if there's an issue.
  22. Any documented proof of cambelt and water pump change and gearbox services. Check YouTube for buyers guides.
  23. Need to know spec and gearbox option etc. I'd recommend finding 3 similar cars from the same year and send them to your insurance company as evidence of what it'll cost you to replace the car with a similar or like for like.
