  1. Thanks Cliff. I think the plan would be to lift the engine out instead of dropping the subframe. I'm just thinking, changing just the crankshaft is the cheaper option. And hopefully gets the A6 back on the road. We'll be able to diagnose it as that once the sump is removed and we can inspect it.
  2. Glad you got sorted. Definitely can be purchased cheaper online from aftermarket versions
  3. Please keep us posted on how you get on
  4. The old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Can the dealer prove it's been repaired to a high standard? And repaired by whom? If it's a big enough collision it might/should have been placed on a jig etc. if it's due to flood damage then that's a total different ball game as it will have affected the wiring and computers. What accident caused it to be salvage? Whats the service history of it? Owner history? Etc. Don't forget to check buyer guide YouTube videos
  5. Definitely worth checking. Also worth seeing if the high pressure fuel pump is working correctly.
  6. Ot sure to be honest. But if the fault code is that then I'd look to inspect it and replace it.
  7. Hope you get it sorted. Just realised I'm replying to you on the note thread.
  8. Just trying to think of issues regarding the air/fuel mixture. Have you changed the actuator?
  9. Hello all, As it's highly likely it's the crankshaft that's wrecked on my 2.5tdi engine could this just be replaced? I appreciate it'd need new bearings and crank seals etc. How easy is this to do and does anyone know the process? I know the sump (both parts) and the subframe has to be lowered (unless engine removed). But what's the process to remove the actual crankshaft? Would you recommend this? Thank you for any advice.
  10. What have you tried so far?
  11. Sorry to hear the issue isn't resolved. Could it be a crank sensor? Or an issue with the air intake system. I appreciate give changed the mass air sensor, but maybe something isn't sealing right? Could it be a fueling issue? Is it worth changing the fuel filter?
  12. Could it be an issue with the maf sensor? Have you changed the actuator?
  13. I've not heard of them. I trust it's a proper remap on a rolling road? The price is about right. Those figures are good too.
  14. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. Could this be a crank sensor or a fueling issue?
  15. You're welcome, please keep us posted on how you get on. I'm wondering if there's any winter wheels/wheels for the q7 that might fit. Might be worth a consideration

Sorry to hear of the poor running costs! Hope you had a nice trip though
  17. Thanks for updating us, let's hope Audi Belfast get this sorted asap.
  18. Glad you're pleased with your sq5 they're lovely cars. Is yours the one in the pic? Is it a black edition?
  19. It'll be the A3 8y section. This thread should help too: Issues with mmi black screens are well documented
  20. Shame the cross climate 2 aren't recommend as they're supposed to be the best. Why are they not recommended? I think the other options are Nokian Remedy WRG5 Continental Allseasoncontact 2 Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 But is it worth you just having a set of winter wheels with tyres as having a tyre that is designed to work in all conditions means it has to make compromises so won't provide the ultimate performance possible when compared with a tyre designed to work as a summer or winter tyre. We are a friendly and helpful bunch, sorry you feel we haven't been. Gareth offered advice on your tyre thread, as have I. You could try fitting a $12 aftermarket one the only issue could be with the quality. There have been cases where the dipstick has come away from the handle and dropped down. Is the one Audi wanting to sell you the same part number who've mentioned? I believe the ones for the other 3.0tdi should fit. Make sure it's for a gen 3 engine of the 3.0tdi. Gen 1 was found in the A6 C6 or similar. Gen 2 fitted to A6 c7 or similar. So gen 3 Is post 2018 I think. So if you're after a cheaper option than the dealer then might be worth looking for second hand ones on eBay from 2018 onwards 3.0tdi This link to this thread might help: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-sq5-mkii-discussion-218/finally-sq5-dipstick-2999441/
