  9. Thanks Mark. I guess the only way we'd know the engine code is via the sticker in the boot. It must be an import
  10. Glad you're pleased with the A3 sounds a nice car with good spec.

  12. No probs. Audi's and other vag cars of the 90s/naughties suffered from this as foam was put inside the wheel arches and this would trap moisture causing the rigs to rot from inside out
  13. Yep can be done by yourself ๐Ÿ™‚ have a look on YouTube on MMI reset, you'll need to put in your specific type of radio for it such as concert, symphony etc.
  14. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. You could look at revo or Celtic tuning. Depending on power don't forget to get the gearbox remapped too.
  15. Might be worth you using a vin decoder online to see the spec and origin of it.
  16. One way to test if it's the key or the car is trying a spare key if you have one.
  17. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Hopefully it's just a problem with an SD card/disc. Worse case scenario it's a problem with the unit. Have you tried a reset of the unit?
  18. Was there an export marker or import marker on the hpi? I think the fact it's been out down as an A6, S6 and rs6 is a red herring. It's definitely a narrow body so would be discounted as an s6 and rs6 as these were wider. Wider wings, bigger windscreen, longer front end. Do you know the engine code? I'm wondering if the seats have just been swapped for allroad ones. The grey cloth driver seat is a sports seat which is what I suspect it had from new. Is there anything in the service history to hint is got around? Ie invoices in different languages etc. If you can let me know the engine code then I can find out the true power etc of it. Rather than a prototype I wonder if it's a south African or jap import. It's definitely a prefacelift with the bonnet it has which would confirm it's a 1999 built car. Facelift cars were late 2001 onwards. What upgraded injectors and turbo has it got? Is there an invoice for them?
  19. Hey kev, looks like it's got an allroad interior too except for drivers seat which looks entry level cloth. Plus smoked rear lights and a front bumper with an unusual splitter (lower bumper). What's the engine code? Should be on the service book or in the sticker in the boot. According to one car checker it's a 150bhp version and another says it's a 163bhp but also quattro which is very unusual as the quattros were 180bhp. Also some sites say it was registered in 1999 and others 2003. I wonder if it's an import?
  20. Yep you're right 5 years. Audi did change it to unlimited age and 120k but this would be unwise to follow. As it used to be 5 years. Any car you're looking at , it's worth asking if the supplying dealer will fit a cambelt and water pump. Definitely worth looking at gearbox oil services. I think the mileage is 50-60k I think. But definitely worth getting it done for peace of mind. Don't forget to check out buyers guides on YouTube.
  21. Might be worth reprogramming the key which you can do via YouTube tutorial online. In failing that, you might need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?
