I'm wondering if there an issue with the alarm module. My dad had a similar issue on his Mercedes and he had to have a new alarm module which rectified the issue.

Not too clued up on wiring but think they'll be two wires running from the handle to the catch.
You're welcome, hope you get the issue sorted soon 😊

Does sound like it could be the vacuum pump. But the central locking issue could be linked to the drivers door locking mechanism which controls the rest of the central locking. I had a similar issue and it cost me £120 to fix.

I don't think.itll be cheap I think you'll want to factor in £600 but that's a guess. I think you'll need the matching clicks and ecu from the new engine to make it all work as Audi code the clocks, ecu abd engine all to the car.

I've had the exact same issue. Had to have the pollen filter housing replaced. Not the most expensive part to change but definitely should cute the issue.

Hi Keith, I believe the fogs, wipers and heater fans are all connected to a control module. If the module fails it can stop these systems from working. I'm sure it's called a ccm? It sounds to me an issue with this to be honest.

When I had a similar issue itbwas the drivers door locking mechanism which was at fault. In my case the drivers door mechanism controls the rest of the central locking. My car was repaired by an auto electrician and cost £120.

Sounds faulty but I'd suspect a loose wire as you can open it from the key. That would indicate to me that the catch itself is working abd would mean the handle mechanism to be at fault.

Sorry your having Ian, at least they've admitted they're aware of a fault. Have they got back to you yet?
I suspect they'll be trying to put off dismantling the engine to be honest.
