  1. Well an old rule of thumb was once the car was showing empty on the gauge you'd still have maximum 20 miles of range left. This will depend on your driving style. Ironically my wife did test the theory and ran out at over 20 miles in one of her old cars.
  2. Well I think we can safe to say it's not dpf related in light of the driving you do. Piotr is probably right with the MAF sensor. This sensor monitors airflow and you would have had to take it off the old airbox and then fitted to the new pipe work for the cold air feed. The mad will look like the one in the attached pic. The second pic shows the MAF sensor attached to the old airbox. The bit sticking up is where the electrical connector plugs in. Hope I've helped and hope that all makes sense 🙂
  3. I am amazed at this and I'm glad Audi refunded you. Sorry to hear you're leaving the brand but I do admit the velar is a nice motor. Just be weary of jaguar landrovers financial situation! They have production lines closed due to financial issues. Cheers Steve
  4. Hi Derek, I'm not aware that vag cars have a shut down mode if the oil is low. How low was the oil? Was there any warning lights on the dash? Cheers Steve
  5. You're welcome, just hope I've helped in some way. Please let us know how you feel get on. Cheers Steve

    You're welcome 🙂
  7. Hmm so hypothetically it could be unconnected. I'd still recommend a diagnostic check. Just out if curiosity what kind of driving are you doing?
  8. Now that is annoying! I have to say this issue has really stumped me. I think the only thing you can do is take the door card off and inspect the mechanism whilst someone turns the key. I do wonder whether some rod is jammed. That's if Audi still use rods for manual key opening. Rod is probably the wrong word or I'm completely incorrect. But it's the best guess I have. Cheers Steve
  9. Hi Jack, are you sure the cold air feed is fitted correctly? I ask this because if there is even a small gap allowing air in or out past the maf sensor then this could be causing byiur issue. In failing that I'd advise byou get a diagnostic check carried out to see what fault codes flag up. As a correctly fitted cold air feed that is designed bfor your Audi shouldn't cause the car to go into limp mode. Cheers Steve
  10. Also be cautious as I question the legality of the garage carrying out this work and also carrying out your MOT. If I were you I'd read the small print before you sign/or pay any money as I'll bet there's a clause so that any illegal work carried out doesn't come back on them. I'm not trying to rain on your parade or be all negative but I don't won't to see you getting stung/caught out. As I say the remap isn't the issue it's the removal of the dpf that's the problem. I believe if you're caught the fine is around £1000 abd let's be honest if your car is pumping out a lot of smoke then this is a clear sign to the police or a traffic officer that something isnt quite right. Cheers Steve

  12. Yea the key should definitely open the door. If Audi have carried out work then you might get a discount on the repair as you should have had 12 months warranty on the work/parts I believe. Cheers Steve

My advice would be to try eBay. Or try and find a car being broken that has Bluetooth and then take the whole kit. I suspect any a4 of a similar model year will be compatible. Cheers Steve
  14. Yea it should improve the drivability, bhp and maybe the mpg. If you have it done I'd advise letting your insurance company know of the remap.
  15. Wow that's certainly not cheap. I wonder whether a7 models that are being broken for spares is the way to go?
  16. Hi Chris the q7 is an amazing vehicle. Make sure everything works as parts can be very expensive this includes the suspension ride height settings etc. Heres a YouTube video which may help: Cheers Steve

  18. Hi kamil, you're best bet is to fit a genuine turbo either new or reconditioned as aftermarket turbos can fail inside 18months. If you want more bhp my advice would be to fit a standard turbo and then have the car remapped. Cheers Steve
