  1. Yes I'd say so. Better safe than sorry for any auto gearbox.
  2. Have you tried eBay?
  3. Unfortunately you're right
  4. You could try eBay. Or contact autoglass or Similar. But it won't be covered under your insurance though.
  5. Has it got a private plate? Or has it been imported from Japan or elsewhere? Private plates don't show up properly on tfl. I'm 95% certain it won't be compliant. To prove it you'll have to contact VW for a certificate of conformity.
  6. It may depend on spec rather than engine. IE is it an se, s line, sport etc. has it got a tech pack etc.
  7. Never seen this before. Has the car got double glazing?
  8. I will be doubtful it's compliant as it's diesel. I think it's a8 D4 facelifts with the 4.2 that's exempt. A petrol d3 you'd have a better chance.
  9. Why would they question you?! My older a 6 has a similar interior colour (platinum grey) and it's lovely.
  10. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 looks a lovely car.
  11. Love the interior colour
  12. Sorry to hear you've got this situation.
  13. Has the car got cruise control? Or were you hoping the stalk would give you cruise control? I ask because if it's the latter then it'll.nerd to be coded to the car to make it work.
  14. They are some of the most knowledgeable people out there. Won't work on 2.5tdi V6 engines though as I asked.
  15. You're welcome 🙂
  16. If the ccm is corroded, you might be able to clean the wiring but ultimately it'll need replacing with a part with an identical part number. It usually corrodes as water getting into the cabin.
  17. Sound advice Gareth 🙂
  18. Glad we could help. Always bare in mind there's always other similar a3s out there. If this one is ceap, it might be cheap for a reason. Please do keep us posted on how you get on
  19. Following are the Types of Car Exhaust Smoke: 1. Black Smoke Black smoke indicates that the engine is burning too much fuel, a condition known as running rich. This can be caused by several factors that disrupt the air-fuel mixture. 2. White Smoke It usually means that coolant is being burned in the engine, which means that something is drastically wrong. The most common cause of this is a blown head gasket, which can quickly lead to an overheating engine. 3. Blue Smoke Blue smoke is a clear sign that your engine is burning oil. The liquid can leak into the combustion chamber where it is burned along with fuel. You'll probably notice your car misfiring when you turn the keys in your ignition, or find your vehicle shakes more than usual when idle. 4. Grey Smoke If the smoke from the exhaust pipe is either grey or bluish-tinged, it generally means that your engine is burning oil inside the combustion chamber. Burning oil could be due to many causes, from leaky valve seals to bad piston rings.
  20. Id recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up but it's probably a faulty antenna
  21. There should be a date on the battery in theory. But change fronts and see if that resolved the issue
  22. How old is the battery? A failing battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.
  23. If it's showing a faulty cluster then this will be refurbishment. As the connections can become loose. As well as the fact the imobiliser is inbuilt in the cluster which could also be the problem within the cluster
