  1. You're welcome Geoff :)
  2. Oops! I revised trip plan for me is required lol. Or I'll look at meeting points nearer the venue :)
  3. Couldn't agree more! And I wouldn't be surprised if it can be reconditioned. Or you could buy a second hand part and gave it coded to the car. Cheers Steve
  4. With regard to the parking brake I'd get a diagnostic check carried out to see what fault codes flag up. It could be something simple but again it could be expensive to fix. Cheers Steve
  5. I always buy known brands from my local tyre shop. I always think it's the tyres keeping me on the road and is the only contact your car has to the road.
  6. Unfortunately egr failure is common, have you had the emissions recall at all? With regard to turbos the opinions are to buy a reconditioned genuine one or buy a new genuine one unfortunately. Cheers Steve
  7. Lol how much coming back are we talking back?
  8. Welcome to the forum Geoff, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Cliff is correct in saying you'll need both the springs and dampers from a SE model. They should also be a direct fit and no modifications required other than tracking and steering geometry as cliff has stated. I know this to definitely be the case with 2wd models but you may have to confirm this with Audi or another garage as your a3 has quattro. You may have to get the suspension off an see spec quattro car but I can't see it being an issue over the normal 2wd models. I hope that all makes sense. Cheers Steve
  9. Welcome to the forum Larry, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The front speakers should be straightforward, however I would have thought there would have been rear speakers in the doors? Have you got any pictures of the door cards for us to look at? It also might be worth you picking up a Haynes manual for the 8p off ebay. Cheers Steve
  10. Glad you got sorted Ross :) it shows, even we as moderators learn something new everyday :)
  11. Truthfully I've not checked that I am. But I'll detour ;)
  12. Woop Woop, glad I got this one right! 😀 It's scary how the motor industry changed thanks to the British. Just like Volkswagen being brought back from the ashes by the British :) Looking forward to your next quiz Gareth :) Cheers Steve
  13. I would guess approx 7:30-8? What do you recon Edd?
  14. Welcome to the forum Keith, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Sorry to hear you've having issues with your a5. A long shot but could the condensation and air conditioning issue be connected? After all air con dies take excess moisture out of the cabin. It's worth a shot in asking the question! Due to the age of the car there should be various amounts of factory good will they can offer you hence the reduced cost of the sat nav work. Also I've moved this topic to the a5 section to help other members find it. Cheers Steve
  15. Welcome to the forum David, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) You are looking at a very good a6 Avant model :) you'll find the pre 2008 models have less power and lower emissions due to the fitment of a DPF filter which was first introduced in 2007 for the 2008 model year. Cheers Steve :)
  16. You're welcome, glad I could help :) Also with the 2.0 there is a known fault with the engine where by the pistons ate too small which results in oil to seep past them and has been known to destroy the engine! So make sure the recall has been done. This will involve new pistons and rings and in a worse case scenario a new engine. I'd say you'd be looking the top end if your budget for a reasonable a5 in my opinion. Cheers Steve
  17. A5 are nice but have you considered on older shape a4 convertible?
  18. Definitely does Rob!! Looks like the plans arranged then :)
  19. I know what you mean Trevor! I could do with a garage myself for the a6 and my Ford escort!
  20. Welcome to the forum Ronnie, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I believe the see and s line grill are the same size but the s3 grill is bigger. Your best bet would be to look on eBay. Cheers Steve
  21. Yea, it should be a good laugh Edd :) and yea, meeting at the services is a good plan. I'll have a look nearer the time to find them. If I do it now then people will gave forgotten where we said (myself included lol)
  22. Well I know it's not taken or the transporter films lol.
  23. Hi Robert, I believe the correct oil is 5w 30 and this is what we used when I worked at volkswagen in their service department. Cheers Steve
  24. At least you know what it is your after in terms of spec, engine etc. It all helps towards experience :) Do you think you'll get another Audi?
