Welcome to the forum Chris, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) With regard to your first issue I'd advise you get a diagnostic check carried out to establish what the fault actually is. Your other option could be to replace the switch to see if that cures the problem. If it doesn't then you know it's more likely the motor that's gone. With regard to your second issue, the cheapest option would be to get the interior mirror glue you can get from your local motor factors. I've used both the glue and tape and confirm the glue is better. I've got this experience from my old Ford escort 😉 and as long as neither the base not the mirror are broken you'll be fine. Ie you'll need a clean break to reattach it. Hope that makes sense. Your other option is to pay your windscreen excess and gave a new windscreen fitted. Hope I've helped :) Cheers Steve

I know what you mean! We were one of those crazy waving drivers lol 😂 My dad was the same, he sold his for the same price he bought it and that was after we owned it for 6 years! We some ours in 2012 and we still miss it. Had to be sold though as it needed a full rebuild including bulkhead and chassis welding. We did sell it fitted with a new crossmember though.

Glad it's all sorted Dennis :) just some advice regarding the windows. If you find the issue happening on both windows it can often be a sign that the battery is on it's way out. Obviously when the battery goes dead it won't lower the windows when you go to open the door. Luckily this won't affect opening the door but you may have to go steady when closing it, so as to not damage the glass. Cheers Steve

Hmm, well if it were me I'd still have the a6 but then again technology hasn't bothered me too much. It depends whether or not you need the space of the a6. If you don't then do you want to carry around the extra weight? And in that case the a4 might be slightly more economical. But as I say I'd still have the a6

Welcome to the forum Andrew, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The front seats will definitely fit but I'm unsure about the rears to be honest. Hypothetically yes as the base mounting points will be the same. It's the seat back mountings which might be different. With regard to the wiring the seats would have to come out for you to see whether the wiring is under the plastic cover in the center of the floor. If the wiring isn't there and you wanted them wiring in properly then the wiring would have to be fitted under the carpet. It would be a big job to be honest. Looks a very well cared for car :) That oil leak does need sorting asap to be honest. Could this be the reason why the previous owner sold it I wonder? Well worth changing the gasket if you believe it to be that. The pipe running along the top of the engine looks very shiny and new to me and I wonder if there is a mention of it in the service history of a hose/pipe being replaced recently. Not a problem :) Definitely worth sorting that before you tackle the gearbox oil change or wheel alignment :) Any Audi is a massive difference over a landrover 90!! ;) But I think the 90 will have more of a personality ;)

Hi Dennis, sorry this topic has been missed. As staff we all work voluntarily to manage the forum so you'll have to forgive us for missing some topics. With regard to the window the mechanism could be on it's way out. With regard to the headlights, which light is it that's not working? Full beam or side light? As it's an intermittent fault I'd suspect it's wiring for the light instead or the light switch. However if it is a bulb then you'll be looking at roughly £180 per bulb. The best thing I'd advise is getting a diagnostic check carried out. Sorry I can't help more. We also have a thread for Audi's from around the world. Where did you get the figures? I suspect you'll get 10mpg less than that to be honest. My friend has a Passat 2.0 diesel and can get around 800-900 miles per tank!
