    TT questions

Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) In my experience the windows on both doors should go down slight when you open the door. However it isn't unheard of the components inside the window mechanism to wear out. However I have also found that if the battery is low on charge or has been completely flat then this can also cause this issue. I'm unsure on the carbon build up though. I can't say I've come across it on here before on the 2.0 petrol TT. Cheers :) Steve

    Oil?

Hi Dave, if it helps Audi recommend Castrol Edge Professional long life 3 which is 5w 30. Here's the link: https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-maintenance-mot/audi-oil.html Cheers Steve
  3. This is a tough one Robert. One the one hand I can agree with Paul if the garage are willing to foot the bill. However on modern, high tech cars electrical issues can cause numerous issues later down the line if that makes sense especially if the ecu is damaged. I'd be tempted to ask for your money back as it is (in my opinion) a big risk. Cheers Steve
  4. Welcome to the forum Gary, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Unfortunately we can't do much about the adverts as this is down to the bosses. To be fair the adverts are what keep this club/forum free :) I agree with Rob and say S Line spec good :) On any a7 you look at check the tyres! Owners who have Dunlop tyres fitted have been finding they are splitting. Here's the link to the thread: I've also found these 2 YouTube videos which maybe useful :) This has UK subtitles hut isn't too bad: Cheers Steve
  5. You're welcome :) Sorry I can't help more though. Cheers Steve
  6. I wouldn't worry too much, but.the towbars condition will determine how much it's been used. Let's face it the 2 likely options are either a caravan or horsebox which will.probably only have come out a handful of times over each year. Does sound a nice spec :)
  7. Tell me about it Paul! Only 1/3 of our road tax goes on fixing roads. The rest goes to pay duck houses or fancy flats as part of MP expenses!
  8. Welcome to the forum Kevin, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I'd say you'll needs 17" or maybe 18" wheels. Cheers Steve
  9. I'd definitely keep an eye on this. How many miles have you done since you bought it? Cheers Steve
  10. Welcome to the forum Tom, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I believe you need an updated disc for the satnav. These can be bought off eBay but I would not be able to recommend one. But They can be hit or miss. Obviously Audi will charge you alot for the privilege of an update. Cheers Steve
  11. Welcome to the forum Terry, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Forgive me but are you trying to change your current bulbs for leds and is this front or rear? or are you trying to fit led day time running lights? Cheers Steve

  14. I agree with Piotr, check the valve and then check for corrosion on the rim. You've not hit any pot holes by any chance?
  15. Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Nicely modded a4 :) Cheers Steve
  16. Welcome to the forum Simon, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I can fully relate with what you're saying as my 2002 a6 does the same to me! As does my old Ford escort. Bills are expensive!! Now there are 2 ways of looking at this: 1. With your head. Is it time to get rid as it's caused too much grief. Or can you now not afford to sell in light of how money has been spent and you're now stuck with it. 2. With your heart. In my opinion if it puts a smile on your face every time you drive it then is the expense worth it. I tell you now, despite how much money my Ford escort costs me. I'd never get rid of it due to it putting a smile on my face! Hope that makes sense. It sounds like to me too many owners have neglected servicing and maintenance on the car and now you're the one putting it right. Once it's sorted you'll have a cracking car. And if you love it then I'd say persevere. I've found that expensive bills get more common the older the Audi gets. But this is the same case with any car. And I love my a6 and wouldn't part with it. Cheers Steve
  17. Idiots everywhere unfortunately!
  18. Hey Adam, it is true that people do look for full Audi service history and I can see how this is desirable. However from my personal experience having a car service at a private garage does not always mean that servicing has been skimped on. My a6 has been serviced at a local garage ever since it came out of warranty and has had no expense spared and is now on 328k miles on the original engine and gearbox. Cheers :) Steve
  19. As Piotr has said take it for a diagnostic check and see what fault codes flag up. I'm assuming there is adblue liquid in the tank?
