  1. Welcome to the forum Rico, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) You may need to change the connectors to make it fit as well as requiring the radio code. May also need to custom make some brackets for the radio or modify the current bracket. Cheers Steve
  2. Hi Steve, I'm glad you've managed to diagnose then problem. I know you're not going to like this answer but if it were me I wouldn't drive it in case I do more damage. Cheers Steve
  3. Welcome to the forum Dan, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) My advice would be to get a diagnostic check carried out to see what fault codes flag up. I'd also be weary about driving your a4 as you could be doing more damage to the gearbox long term. Out of curiosity do you know when the gearbox oil was last changed? Cheers Steve
  4. That's a result :) glad it's sorted :) Cheers Steve
  5. I believe you can get aftermarket bumpers that get rid of the piece you highlight in red. My advice would be to try eBay to see what aftermarket bumpers are available :) Cheers Steve
  6. Welcome to the forum Tom, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) It's definitely worth checking the wiring first as it could be a faulty earth. It might also be worth you getting a diagnostic check carried out to see what fault codes flag up. or get an auto electrician look at it as it.nat be a quick fix. Cheers Steve
  7. Thanks! I even think the wing mirror is blue and not black! But again that could just be my eyes!
  8. Welcome to the forum Kenaimad, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The a3 v6 is lovely but it does like it's fuel! It's a double whammy really as you've also gone from diesel to petrol. Cheers Steve
  9. Glad you're pleased with your a6 Mark :) you'd be more than welcome to display your a6 at the up and coming shows on the club displays :) Cheers Steve
  10. Hi Bradley, I'm sure I answered this topic?! Think my reply didn't save. The only rust to be weary of is on the front wings which is a common fault of vag cars from this era. This is caused by a piece of foam which is between the arch and wheel arch liner and obviously absorbs moisture and thus rusts the arch. Obviously make sure the roof works as it can be expensive to fix. I've also found these YouTube videos which may help: Cheers Steve
  11. Sorry to hear the a6 was scruffy. Makes me look like an idiot now lol! Looked good in the pics but it just goes to show nothing compares than to see the car in the flesh! The autotrader link doesn't work but I'm guessing it's a TT and you're happy with it. Cheers Steve
  12. Welcome to the forum Colm, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Have you had a diagnostic check carried out? And if so this is what I'd recommend. Plis, if the garage have advised you this is the area where the diesel is escaping from, why haven't they replaced the faulty part? Cheers Steve
  13. Rob your info is fantastic! Top work :) I need to sit down and work exactly where I'll meet you all. I'm staying at the premier inn in nursling if anyone wants to meet me in the morning. As gates open at 9 I think we want to get there 5-10mins before or 5-10mins after. What do you all recon?
  14. Welcome to the forum Edna, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Lovely looking a5 you have there! :) Cheers Steve

Plenty of evidence to sort your case then :)
  16. Wow Trevor! Now that is a beaut! Shame about the miss matched wheels though!
  17. You're welcome, glad I could help :) And I certainly do! It's part of the family now! ;)

Thanks! :) Well in theory my a6 is on long life servicing but the oil gets changed yearly which is less than 20k :)
  19. Hi Bradley, a convertible would be perfect in this nice weather! With the a4 and similar aged vag cars the only rust to be concerned about are the front wings which can rust at the top of the arch. This is caused by a piece of foam which is fitted between the wing and wheel arch liner and over time absorbs moisture which causes the wings to rust. Here's a couple of YouTube video which may help: Cheers Steve
  20. My first port of call would be to get the battery tested as some electrical faults can be caused by a failing battery. If you haven't got the necessary equipment I know halfords can test it for you :) Cheers Steve
  21. I think it depends if keyless entry was ordered when new. From the sound of it, this is unlikely. As Tom has said this is good for security and let's face it we've been open cars with buttons for years now so pressing it is nother here nor there really.

Looks like a case of cloned plates. Has the garage got CCTV to prove your car was there? Or the garage will have to give a statement. Can you prove you were at work as well as that will help. Cheers Steve
  23. That's good to know for future reference :)
