Hi Mor, welcome to the forum :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The first thing I would look at is the battery. When was it last changed? I suspect it would be the original and in which case it's probably had it. In failing that, it could be the alternator but you should have a warning light on.the dash in relation to this. Finally there could be an electrical item draining the system. Either way I think your first step is getting g a diagnostic check carried out. Hope IV helped :) Cheers Steve

Hi David I'm not completely sure to be honest but I besides the usually culprits like failed abs sensors or abs wiring, I think rust can build up near to the sensors connectors in that area and it causes the sensor to think there is a fault. This area needs clearing of the surface rust and you should be good to go. The person who will know is Gareth (magnet) he's very good on this sorted of thing :) Cheers Steve

These mods sounds great! :) With regard to the led bulbs you may find d your a3 might not accept them without the ecu being tweeked. Also with the new Android head unit, your steering wheel controls may not work if you have them. Cheers Steve

Ah, that's odd! There must be a company that does them. In failing that you could just get universal ones. Coming back to the eBay theme, you could try and see the sellers who are breaking A3 lines of the same year and see if they are fitted with mudflaps. Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, I'm assuming you've deleted the app and reloaded it etc? If everything f else works then could this be a fault with the mmi I wonder? It might be do an update. Think your best bet is speaking to Audi. Keep us posted on how you get on :) Cheers Steve

If you've checked the wiring and fuses then the last possible culprit is the sensor. This wouldn't surprise me to be honest. Cheers Steve

Hi Onrae I'm not too sure to be honest but looking online you'll need iso adapters. Sorry if I'm telling you something you already knew. Also the correct accessory feed is in the steering column. This feed stays live in till you take the keys out of the ignition. Also bare in mind if you have steering wheel.controls they may not work with the new head unit. Nice work there Scott! :) Sounds like your project is coming g together and I hope it turns out to be a good choice for you and hope you feel you made the right choice switching to Audi :) The dsg box is a cracking bit of kit and I do like the colour :) Rust on Audi's of this era are common on the front wings and this is also seen on other vag cars, predominantly Volkswagens of the same era. If your getting rust on the wing at the bottom near to wear it meets the door it is often caused by much, leaves etc which has got trapped and has allowed moisture/water to get stuck. Your best bet is taking the wheel arch lin out and having a look. Usually rust will appear at the centre of the wing (arch part) this is due to a piece of foam which was used as sound deading but naturally attracts moisture. I've had this on my a6 and ended up.having 2 new wings. I believe the rust on the bottoms of the doors is a common issue too, on various Audi models of this era as IV had this on my a6 front doors but had it rectified. Hope IV helped :) Cheers Steve

Basic models could have coil sprung suspension but higher spec cars could have air suspension, don't forget that certain parts of the world though the car would have to run on leaf springs to fit into the pickup category. This applies in certain parts of asia such a Thailand. Quattro is a must in both manual and automation form. I think engine wise you'd want decent sized diesels not like the 4 cylinders the Merc x class will start off with! So 3.0 v6 tdi, 4.2tdi or at a push petrol wise the 2.9 litre petrol out of the RS4 or similar. or the v8/v10 out of the r8 for the middle eastern markets. Spec wise sticking with the current formula of se, s line, black edition would work fine I think. One problem with the Volkswagen pickup is the size of load space and weight it can carry which is less than it's competitors. This I feel would need addressing especially when competing against Mercedes. Hope IV helped abit and not bored you to death! Do you work.for Audi by any chance! ;) Cheers Steve

I'm nearly always on.here lol! And I have to say with mine it's not an age thing as my a6 has been owned by the family from new and it's always been the same. It is interesting how gauges differ from.each manufacturer and you'd be right in thinking a thermostat would be an obvious culprit. However is suspect if that were the case the car would not be hearing up to temperature at all. That was my case on my other car which is an old Ford escort. For peace of mind it can't hurt it being plugged in for diagnostics at Audi as it's under warranty. But for me I'd say everything is normal :) Keep us posted on how you get on :) Oh and by the way we have a topic which shows Audi's in all parts of the world. Hey Adrian welcome to the forum :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) In my opinion this is normal. I appreciate my a6 is a lot older than your Audi but I do similar driving for work (country roads between 50-80mph) and my temp gauge fluctuates. It will stay at 90 degrees if I'm doing continued motorway driving. I'd say monitor it but In my opinion and experience it's normal :) By experience I've worked in a Volkswagen service department. If it goes out of the norm zone then you've deffo got an issue! Hope IV helped :) Cheers Steve
