  7. Hi Jay from what I've heard they are pretty good, but do t forget to try ebay. You can find suppliers selling genuine new mats at cheaper prices :) Personally though I've always used hAlford's £25 rubber mats. They've been more than suitable and have lasted more than 10 years! Cheers :) Steve

Welcome to the forum Rob :) Your most welcome for being g added, it's always nice having g new members :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) You've chosen a nice car with a good engine :) Egr blanking plate is a common mod my question to you is whether or not you've had the car remapped since? Normally if you blank the egr the car will naturally pick up a fault with it because the car thinks it's not working if that makes sense? A remap will switch off the cars brain in connection to the egr so that no warning lights come up on the dash or on the computer. By the way you'd be looking at approx £300 for a remap. This is cheaper than replacing the egr and egr cooler which could cost around £1100. If you do replace the egr you'd be better off going with genuine Audi parts as some of the aftermarket variants have been know to fail just outside of warranty. Hope IV helped :) Cheers Steve

Your most welcome :) Taking your time is the best way! :) Oh I forgot to say that if your looking at an a4 with full Audi history then the history will be fully recorded with Audi so you can check what work has been carried out on it :) Don't worry, the best thing to do is buy the best condition, low mileage example you can :) Mileage? If your referring to mpg then round town I'd say high twenties to mid thirties but motorway runs or similar any where from low forties to mid fifties If mileage is referring to longevity of the engine then again this would depend on how well maintained the vehicle has been. For example my 2.5tdi has done 328k on the original engine but again this is due to no expense spared philosophy. My family have owned my a6 since new. Whereas IV seen similar a6 's that are currently being broken with less than half that mileage. Generally the 2.0 litre lump is reliable and 200k is achievable :) Hope that's helped :) Cheers Steve

More often than not the airbag issue can be traced to a loose wire under the passenger side seat. But obviously if it's not this it will be more expensive to fix! With any car your looking at have a look at the service history to see when the cambelt and water pump we're last changed. Also ask the seller if you can get an independent inspection carried out. Companies such as the AA and RAC offer this service for a fee. If you find the seller is reluctant or refuses then you have to question what they or the car has to hide! Hi Jon welcome to the forum :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The a4 b8 is a good car and can provide reliable service if it's been well maintained and looked after. but a few recorded problems are as follows: High oil consumption Vibration through the steering wheel at low speeds High pressure fuel pump failure (mainly older examples) Issues with injectors on some models With any car you are considering purchasing I would advise you look at having an independent vehicle inspection carried out. Companies such as the AA and RAC offer this service for a fee. If you ask the seller if you can get an inspection carried out and they refuse or is reluctant then you have to question what the seller or the car has to hide. Also on any purchase check the service history and ideally this should be full. Any car that 5 years or older or with 70k or more on the clock may be due a cambelt and water pump change. This will cost any where from £400-£600 depending on what parts and garage are used. Audi often has offers to have this done by them. Also check to see that all electronic items work as some of them can be expensive to fix. In connection to this sunroofs are desirable and check to see they operate properly. The sunroof also can cause a lot of noise and buffeting when open, more so than other similar cars. You'll also find that Bluetooth was an optional extra and if it's important to you then make sure your potential purchase has it as it is very hard to retro fit. Spec wise s line is a good spec as you get better seats, more toys, nicer wheels or lowered suspension.   22. I'm sure you can just buy an add on which connects into the back of the radio. The new aux port then can be fitted in a slot of one of the blanking plates. Your best bet is to speak to your local car accessory shop to find exact pricing to have aux installed. The hardest part will be to connect the aux up to the steering wheel controls if fitted. Your other option is to fit an updated radio. This could even be to fit a bet Audi radio which can then be programmed into the vehicle.   23. I'm wondering if this is dpf related? If the dpf is blocked then this will cause the car to struggle to run after start up and can cause it to cut out. In terms of turbos: Admittedly some turbos do whilst when they leak would often mean you would be down on power. If the turbo failed completely the car would still run but you'd be limited to approx 30mph I speak from rough experience with my a6. My dad had turbo failure at 75k hence why I know he could drive it at 30mph. At 328k my turbo whistles but it's done it for years and still drives fine. It's often the seals/gaskets on the turbo that start to leak. In some cases the blades in the turbo can break off which can cause loss of power temporarily as the fan is spinning. This ultimately can and often destroys the turbo. Hope IV helped and hope it gets sorted soon :) Cheers Steve
  24. As it says, there will be carbon editions of both the RS4 avant and RS5. Both cars will feature the 2.9 v6 engine with slightly increased power output from 444bhp to 447bhp and 600NM of torque. This will propel the RS5 to 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and the RS4 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. Also both cars will feature an exterior styling package including carbon fiber detailing (window surrounds for example), Matt black badges, privacy glass, sports exhaust and 20" wheels to name but a few items. The 20" wheels will replace the stand 19" items. The RS5 will also include a carbon roof. The interior will include RS sport nappa leather seats and honeycomb stitching.   25. Information has been released with regard to the new Rs 7 drivetrains. The RS7 will be available as a hybrid and powered by a 700bhp v8 and with 800NM of torque as found in the Porsche panamera Or the other engine option is a standard v8 engine. Both engines with benefit from the 8 speed S-tronic automatic gearbox and Quattro system. This will allow the RS7 to go from 0-62mph in under 4 seconds!
