  1. Sounds good :) they'll be able to tell you easily :) but as I say I believe it's just a regen, and I say this as I worked for a Volkswagen service department ;)
  2. Glad it's sorted Paul :)
  3. Yep sounds like dpf regeneration to me. If the fan stays on constantly whilst driving then I would suggest there is an issue with thermostat but I'd see how it goes :)
  4. Hey Stef welcome to the forum :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) iv had a look online for PDFs but with no proper success. My best advice and if it were me I'd buy one off eBay. As this will help when you come to sell the car on in the future :) cheers steve
  5. I would suspect so from what you've described :) cheers steve
  6. Hey Geoff, i think the main problem is a lack of access to the rear of the lights. Fabricating a tool sounds like a good idea :) i don't think you can lubricate the back of the lights due to the nature of the electrics. Iv found this video, it may help :) iv been unable to find any pics of the headlight bulb holder, sorry. Hope iv helped :) cheers steve
  7. I'm assuming your a3 is diesel and you would be right. I would say it's the dpf regenerating itself :) the car puts the fans on to keep the engine cool whilst it burns off the particulates from the dpf. It burns off the particulates from the exhaust when the exhaust is hot :) hope iv helped :) cheers Steve
  8. Both are great colour choices :) unsure on the sub and amp, sorry.
  9. Was great to meet you Adam :) and I too am looking forward to the rolling road day next month! :)

In terms of coilovers, generally the cheaper they are the worse they are. Cheers steve

  15. Right. Think we are all ready for show time! Those that are joining my brother and I for breakfast we are meeting at 7am at the premier inn in Chippenham. You can't miss us we will be in Audiownersclub.com t shirts. Remember for those not meeting us for breakfast, ideally you need to be at the track for 7:30 to be on the club display. I suspect we will get away wilth later but don't quote me on that. I will then be giving members there vehicle passes but please note this is first come first served as I have 12 passes (think this should be enough anyway) oh and I will be giving you all FREE audiownersclub.com stickers :) Those members who have let Trevor or I know your t shirt size - Trevor should be bringing your t shirts when he arrives at 10am. Again these are FREE :) cheers all and see you in the morning! I'm now going to have a couple of drinks from the bar :)

  18. Mine will get cleaned later before the long drive lol 😂
  19. Hi Scott, I find this very interesting as when I worked at a Volkswagen service department we had a lot of cars come with failed egr valves and egr coolers! Agter that watch dog program I don't think the vag group can hide the problems anymore! Please keep us posted on joe you get on. Cheers steve
  20. Welcome to the forum Geoff :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) so don't hesitate to ask any questions :) cheers steve
  21. Welcome to the forum Adam! :) great rs6 you have there :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) will be great to see you tomorrow :) you can join us for breakfast at Chippenham premier inn if you'd like? Cheers steve
  22. Welcome to the forum Colin :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) lovely looking car you have there! :) in terms of the warranties you have to be really careful. And read the small print as I have found a lot of them aren't worth the paper they are written on! After working in a Volkswagen service department I have some contact with rac warranties. I found they would only consider a claim if the car had broken down at the side of the road and had been recovered. So basically if your EML came on for instance and the car was still drivable then you wouldn't be covered by the warranty. That was a real life example I dealt with. An aweful lot of these warranties don't cover electrical issues. And unfortunately electrical issues are very common nowadays due to all the stuff crammed into cars. Sorry if im stating the obvious or telling you how to suck eggs! Hope iv helped :) Cheers steve
  23. Would be fun! ;)
