  2. With this new topic I will be posting up pictures of Audi brochures so that I can share the content with fellow members. I do have a wide range of Audi brochures it's just going to take some time for me to post them individually

    hope the info is useful

oh and other members are more than welcome to post their Audi brochures too! :)

  3. Hi Fraser, the wheels should be straightforward but unsure about the entertainment system. The entertainment system probably runs through the main unit in the dash. And the headrests might be slightly different

what I do know is the tv factory option on the previous a8 was between £4000-£5,000! (No joke!) think on your model it was approx £2300-£2700

im in the process of taking pictures of all my Audi brochures so that members can have the benefit of the info. However it's taking a little while as there's a lot of pages to go through.

    cheers

  4. The trick to car security and home security is to make it look as tough as possible for any thief or burglar. They will always go for soft targets so the hard you make it for them, then the less of a target you become.

The harder the target the longer it takes for them to break in/steal. Crooks hate taking too long when committing a crime as it leaves them vulnerable to be caught. So anything to slow them down is a good thing

my uncle has a 2014 Vw Passat and still uses a steering lock :)

    Steve,

Thanks for the add, yes I'll display it, even though its bog standard it'll be clean. Do I get the wristband and just turn up or is it more complex than that?

It's not a problem it's standard, the a8l is a special car! :) especially in your colour and trim combo. my a6 is standard it's just done 320,700 miles hence why it's special :) I have sent Trevor a message to clarify some details as I didn't originally arrange the event. Once I know il post on here :)

thanks again for your interest and support. It is very much appreciated!

    Cheers

    Steve,

I went for a Mythos black long wheelbase SE executive.  It has the black leather interior with the full comfort package and i believe the extended leather.  I picked the 3.0 tdi V6 in the end looking at consumption and taxation, i was very surprised when I drove it, I couldn't believe how powerful it is.  Although i was very tempted by the W12 but out of my league 🤑

Hopefully I'll see you at the Audis in the park event, I have just put my name down for that.

    Fraser

Great colour combo Fraser! For me black exterior and black interior is best! :) what interior trim inserts did you go for e.g: wood, carbon, aluminium etc?

I have to agree the 3.0tdi is the best for realistic use. But the w12 is awesome! It's just running it that's the problem!

Yep im planning to be at Audis in the park, I'm going to update the list with your name in it. And yes I believe we are having a club stand. I will be speaking to Trevor and Brad about this shortly.

    Cheers

    Good morning All,

I'll bob along to this to make up some numbers if there's going to be a club stand there.  Would be nice to meet you guys in person.  How do your events like this work, do you club order the tickets or get them individually?  Anyway add me and possibly the rest of my family to the list, cheers. 🚘🚿😊

Glad to have you on board Fraser :)

we'll add you to the list!

would you like to display your a8?

  8. No worries Fraser :)

to be honest it's always better to stretch your budget to get the car you truly want! What colour scheme did you go for in the end? And what engine did you choose?

I'm not suprised your excited! I'm slightly envious!

Would be great to see you at the shows and display your a8 :)

    cheers

It would be great to have some events up over the border. A great venue would be the Knockhill race track near Kinross, about 30-40 mins North of Edinburgh. It's about as central for Scottish population without being to far North for people south of the border. Food for thought.

Thanks for that Dan :) I know knockhill race track and to be fair that's a good shout for a venue :)

    cheers

I have read up about it but theirs mixed reviews, some say they haven't noticed any change and some saying they have, to be honest I'm not really sure what they are going to do to it, the letter is very vague, I'd like to think it will run better and smoother? an adviser from Audi are ringing me tomorrow about it so I'll make sure to ask lots of questions about it and if he seems unsure I wont bother as the car runs fine and I have no bother.

    Thanks

To be honest Mark I wouldn't bother having it done and It's not compulsory for it to be done.

I say that as iv worked in a Volkswagen service department. On most cars it was just a software update but on certain engines certain parts had to be added such as vibration dampers.

The reason why I say not is because before the emissions update is done, a diagnostic check has to be completed. And from a diagnostic check you could be given horrible news that your car needs a new egr valve and cooler even if the car is running fine with no lights on the dash. If that makes sense.

This was all too common at Vw. The emissions update cannot be completed if there are issues with the egr.

On the other hand if you do have it done you should get a certificate to show its been completed which you can show the next owner when you come to sell the vehicle.

    Hope iv helped

    cheers
