Thought I'd share these pics taken by my brother who is currently on holiday in Northern Ireland. This Audi certainly has a unique paint job!

Your most welcome :) thats great! It's nice when it's an easy fix! ;) but to be fair you'll find a lot of electrical gremlins can be traced back to weak or duff batteries! The problem with older Audis is that they can be expensive to fix in terms of how often they go wrong. I speak from experience here. To be fair though the balljoints army a big surprise to me as the a8 is a big car!

Hey Paul, Jacques is completely correct :) just to add, they will illuminate when you press them. Cheers steve

Hopefully it all gets sorted :) as I say servicing wise it should be 12montha/20,000 miles which ever comes first. VAG cars nowadays are put on long life servicing. Couldnt agree more about finding a good garage! They are few and far between!

Sorry to hear this Darren. Try not to worry everything happens for a reason and I'm sure a far better job is around the corner. Sorry I can't help with your car issues :/ steve

Glad you got sorted with mudflaps :) I'm surprised Audi don't do kick plates to be honest. Sorry you've had such issues with the dealer but there are some bad eggs about! What are you going to do about the service? I say this because if the ad said it was serviced (x amount of service stamps) and it wasn't then they have misrepresented the vehicle and over charged you. But you do need something in writing to say. By the way the Audi check should be FREE. Hope iv helped cheers steve

Sorry to hear the dealers are struggling to resolve this but in my opinion this still sounds like either the gear synchromesh or a gear linkage to me. I know iv mentioned my mums merc in a previous comment on this topic which was having similar issues. Your doing the right thing by keeping on the case with this. Hopefully it will get resolved soon!

Welcome to the forum Clive :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) lovely looking a3 by the way, oh and the S Line spec is nice! Far better over the se spec ;) in terms of the wing mirrors I believe they don't have the auto retract function as standard. I believe it's an optional extra. On a more positive note i also believe cruise control can be retro fitted to your a3 :) hope iv helped :) cheers steve

You got a nice spec :) can't really help with the sat nav I'm afraid. I wonder if it's due to the age of the disc?

All I know is that my grandkids will never know the sound of petrol or Diesel engines except on YouTube! Couldn't agree more Piotr! They certainly aren't as economical as they should be!

I think the summer has gone on strike in the uk as the rest of Europe has nice weather. Clearly the weather found out about the petrol and diesel 2040 ban! Lol

Hey Paul I drove an electric Passat when I worked at Volkswagen and it was amazing! The spec was great and it was very quiet. however I strongly disagree with the electric car as the power to run them comes from coal fired power stations and I don't believe that that is the future for motoring. I feel if you buy an electric car then your buying a Betamax tape player. I feel the future is hydrogen cars to be honest. With electric cars no one has told us what happens with all the old batteries and the fact the batteries last a minimum of 5 years and a max of 10 years. Which basically means your 5 year old car could be scrap after 5 years as the batteries will be so expensive to replace! Also how will a Toyota Prius improve the planet when the raw materials are shipped from all over the world. And panama programmed proved that modern ships pump out as many diesel particulates as all the traffic at rush hour around Piccadilly Circus (panorama approx 4th July 2017). I would argue Therefore a 1950s American car living in Arizona or Nevada has caused less pollution in its life than a Prius. Plus the fact a Prius petrol engine isn't that economical. I can confirm this from driving them when working at a car supermarket and comparing them to Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra etc. Also how is the national grid going to cope? They always bang on about how it's stretched as it is?! Il stop with my rant now. But I admit that I'm probably a dinosaur in terms of what I like and I'm not moving with the times. Cheers steve
