  1. Thank you Gareth, hope you and your family have a merry Christmas and happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
  2. Service book should be stamped to prove servicing. Now depending if this is on long life servicing or not will depend on the amount of stamps. Longlife is 2 years 20k if memory serves correctly whereas the other option Is once a year at 12 or 10k. I'm going from memory though. Also you'll want to see if there's any proof of the gearbox oil being changed, especially if it's an auto. This goes for the quattro system too. Do all electrical items work? Any proof of Cambelt and water pump change? Or any evidence in service history of the egr or dpf being changed. As these 2 are expensive if they go wrong
  3. Have you got wet carpets? As ccm is under the carpet and can cause electrical issues once flooded. Could it be an issue with the headlight switch I wonder as I've heard they cause odd issues with lights when they fail. Have you had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?
  4. Could it be coming in from rear light seals, sunroof drain, rear wiper motor/washer system. Would it be worth sitting in the back of the car with rear seats down so you can observe where water is coming in if someone runs a hose/pressure washer over the car?
  5. We've advised him the best we can. Buying from auction is the biggest gamble but where the cheapest cars are.
  6. Merry Christmas Dave 🙂 and happy new year to you and your family. Thanks for all your input this year 🙂
  7. My personal view, is that if you're looking at car auctions then are you looking for the new Q5 on the cheap? If so as such, you'll either have to buy something that's below your expectations or save up more for the car you want.
  8. Sounds like they're fobbing you off. Did they do a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up? Here's a similar issue with the A3 8v (which is what the q2 is based on).
  9. This it? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334602637035?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yi1ojZncSxy&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=IE07kO4STZy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  10. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. When you press the button can you hear any electrical solenoid working?
  11. Even though it's just out of warranty you should be able to have good will from Audi. From what I've researched it'll need replacing Alternatively I'd recommend you take it to an Audi independent specialist
  12. I think it's A5 that had 18 along with the A7. As long as the offset and centre bore is right then you should be ok https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305162335141?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=FezDsNMRSh-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=IE07kO4STZy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  13. Not heard of this issue before. Is it worth speaking to the company that repaired the screen?
  14. I'd recommend you repair it especially with that low mileage. If you buy a second hand pump their are companies out there that can remove the imobiliser off the old pump to make it work for your engine. What's the engine code? I ask as if you decide to break it I'll consider the engine for mine.
  15. I'd recommend you change the lower pulley at the same time and some recommend changing the thermostat too whilst you've got access.
  16. Fingers crossed this works for you 🤞 keep us posted on how you get on
  17. I'm suspecting a wiring issue as reverse lights will take signal.from.thengearbox when reverse is engaged
  18. I think you need to get an auto locksmith out or your local break down company to break in.
  19. Have you had the evap system actually inspected?
  20. I think it's the valves inside the wheel.
  21. Iveco nozzles might work.
  22. Here's a new one
  23. For the record the answer was the holiday.
  24. You're welcome, keep us posted on how you get on
