Hello Stuart sorry to here about this. To be honest I believe as your car is under warranty Audi will have to prove that damage was caused by an inappropriate product being used on the vehicle. I believe your Audi should have a 10 anti perforation/corrosion warranty but unsure how this works with the chrome. The warranty lasts regardless of owner but I believe is void if a body panel such as a wing is replaced due to an accident and non Audi parts are used. It's a shame that Audi started using plastic trim instead of metal. I say this as my old a6 has the old style metal which was chromed but now they use plastic. My trim has never deteriorated in the 15 years our family has owned it. As Gareth has said your doing the right thing only using buckets of water and suds. Hope iv helped cheers steve

Iv had a look on the web but iv had no luck either. If it were me I'd buy one from the US on eBay. Iv bought loads from the US, Canada, Australia, china and even Russia and have never had any issues. Admittedly these all weren't car parts. Sorry I couldn't find any in the UK cheers steve

Companies since as the AA and RAC offer this service. It will give you peace of mind plus if the seller refuses or is reluctant than you have to wonder what they or the car has to hide! Your best bet is not to rush, as rushing into a purchase could mean your buying trouble! Cheers steve

Hi Paul your mate is correct. You have to tell your insurance company and it could affect your premium. However if you don't tell them you won't be covered if you do have a crash. The 3.0tdi does benefit from a remap as it makes the torque smoother. Each remap should be tailored to your car as it will differ to other 3.0tdi out there due to age, mileage and the way it's been driven. The remap will also increase your bhp and potentially/slightly improve your fuel economy as the engine is less restricted. The down side is that if the car is not in top shape and any parts of wearing out then the remap will accelerate this wearing process. By the way Audi Tuner magazine ran an article on modifing the a6 3.0tdi in their previous or current issue. Might be worth you getting a copy :) hope iv helped cheers steve

On the 16th July saw the return of the VAG Tuner Live show at Donington Park and clubs from around the country were in attendance. Prior to arriving at the show Dan and I met up at Donington Services for breakfast and coffee which was a good way to talk about our plan of action for the day. Dan and I turned up at 8am to prepare the club stand and then, as well as everyone else gave our cars a final clean and polish before the general public arrived at 9am. This showed the care and attention people made to their vehicles to make them look spotless and I have to say the fit and finish on most of these cars was stunning. Their owners had clearly a good eye for attention to detail and you should be able to see this in the pictures. Our club display was a short distance away from the VIBE sound system stand. This drew attention as there were a wide variety of vehicles showing off the Vibe products, however not all of these vehicles were VAG cars! On top of this at one point on the Vibe stand there were a number of people doing to Cha Cha slide which was funny to watch! The public were slow to arrive which meant from 9:00-10:00 the show was quiet but I believe this was down to the poor weather reports. After 10am the show really picked up and despite our club display being small both our cars did attract attention. This was partly down to the cars as Dans a4 drew attention due to being lowered on coilovers and nicely stanced with Range Rover alloys and matching 27” bolts, where as my a6 drew attention from curious attendees regarding the rear facing seats in the boot. But also the stand drew attention thanks to the club banner and our matching T-shirts. There were plenty of other Audi clubs there too and all the members I spoke to from these clubs were friendly and happy to talk about their cars and discuss the modifications they had made. Besides the clubs, there were plenty of trade stands and tuning companies offering everything from pressed number plates, dent removal and even carbon cleaning. Some companies such as KW Suspension were willing to demonstrate their products by offering free laps around the track in the passenger seat of their demo car. The show also catered for children too by offering free fairground rides such as Dodgems. Attendees were also able to access the REVO VIP lounge which had TVs and sofas for you to chill out on as well as having some of the best show cars to look at. This was useful to get out of brief rain spots that we had but thankfully the weather held off for most of the day. By 3pm the show had died down and exhibitors including ourselves started to pack up and we said our goodbyes and left shortly after. Before we left Dan and I had a debrief on how the show had gone and we definitely agree that despite the low turnout for our club that we should still have a display at VAG Tuner Live next year. We both agree that the show was fantastic and not one to be missed, I know it’s certainly one of the best shows I’ve attended and I will be going next year. Thanks for reading Cheers Steve

It will list all the a4 soecs and show you exactly whats what: http://www.parkers.co.uk/audi/a4/saloon-2008/specs/ Wow you didn't have much look with the passat. I believe they do use oil but I believe this is normal on the 2.0tdi. Obviously the DPF filter can become clogged if your using the car for around town or short journeys and if you intend to use the a4 for the same purpose then I would advise a petrol version. If you are looking at an a4 with full Audi service history then you can ring Audi directly to see what work has been carried out on the vehicle. Also I would advise you ask the seller if you can get an independent inspection carried out. Companies such as the AA and RAC offer this service. If the seller refuses or is reluctant then you have to wonder if they or the vehicle have something to hide. Cheers Steve

Don't worry Beck your not being fussy at all! As Dan has pointed out there should be plenty of a3's that match your requirements as they were popular :) also has Dan has rightly pointed out, any prospective purchase needs to be checked to see if the cambelt/water pump has been changed. Also if the a3 your looking at has fully Audi service history then you can ring Audi to find out what work has been carried out on it. cheers Steve

Saw this and thought I'd share. In certain parts of London there is now specific parking prices for diesel cars! It is a new scheme that is being trialled in a number of cities around the country. These charges are on top of the diesel congestion and entry charges into the capital. You get better spec and I believe different wheels :) but obviously you'll pay more. Thanks Dan:) it couldn't be helped and I do understand that injuries and work do come first than a car show. I'm just using it as experience to help plan Audis in the park :) as I say it was a great show and members would have loved it. It was genuinely on the best shows iv been too. Not too big but not too small and the quality of the modified cars was amazing!
