  1. Hey Paul, typing in the digit code to pair the car to the phone is quite common but iv never seen it where the phone looses signal and the phone company says you've changed SIM cards! Have you rang vodaphone to see what they have to say about it? Sorry I can't help more. Cheers steve
  2. Your most welcome :) It certainly is confusing! But yours is a c5 unsure who uses the 4b but that's correct also! Youve donebright, those mats will fit :) wow that's amazing! Talk about a great list of features! The problem I have is I find the touch screens on car radios distracting. My dad has one in his Passat company car and it just distracts me a lot more than the radio the Audi has lol. Have to agree I hate TomTom satnavs and prefer google maps myself :) Certainly keep an eye on it and I'd look through the service history to confirm what he's saying. Better still if the work was done at Audi you can ring them with the vin number/registration and they can tell you what it's had done at any main dealer :)
  3. Glad we could help Cameron :) and save you some money! :) cheers steve
  4. Thanks :) as long as they're well maintained they'll keep going :) 95k is very low miles! :) i suppose il have to get into the modern age at some point lol! But I have to admit the radio looks great! And would deffo blend in the a6 dash! :) oh and that's a neat way of hiding the camera! ;) Unfortunately I only have a regular a6 with coils. But the level numbering is correct but I don't believe 4 is for maintenance. Pub trivia moment now.....Believe it or not the a6 c5 allroad is one of the only vehicles to complete the Land Rover official off-road course! That shows you how good it is! I would check your service history to see if the air suspension has been fixed. It sounds to me you could have a small leak somewhere if she isn't engaging all levels or the air compressor is playing up. The air suspension can be costly to fix as the car has for air bags on each corner and a air compressor. Either of these items can fail and they can be costly to fix. This is why most allroads end up as spares repairs on eBay or broken for spares. Yep, I have the official mats in my car but you can get them on eBay. Here's the link. I hope it works as iv been having issues put eBay links on here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132233049052 if it doesn't work just type in "genuine Audi A6 4b c5 rubber mats" they should come up then. The seller is Audi-goettingen cheers steve :)
  5. Hi Jesse welcome to the forum :) I'm assuming your a4 has Bluetooth? If so it might be worth you trying to play the music through the Bluetooth/phone setting instead of the media setting, if that makes sense? Cheers steve
  6. I know that feeling! I have far too much stuff lol
  7. Your welcome :)
  8. She's lovely! :) havebto agree the older stuff was better built. My a6 is on 324,000 miles on the original engine and gearbox ;) owned by my family from new :) i would certainly try and buy a disc first. Try eBay :) if it were me I'd try and keep the original radio, but to be fair I'm still using CDs and haven't braced the future with an iPod or MP3 player yet! if it isn't working then you could replace it but I agree I feel aftermarket radios look out of place in the dash. I do believe it is possible to fit a later model radio but it would need coding to the car I would imagine. With regard to the forum software or script the forum uses; I have no idea. To be honest I'm not that technically minded with such things unfortunately. The administrators will know though :) it might be worth you sending trevor a personal message with regard to this. (His username is in red). Cheers steve
  9. Well it sounds your getting a cracking deal! :) couldn't agree more. Better to try polish first and then if all else fails you csn get them resprayed. Again, your most welcome Abby :) glad i could help! :) let us know how you get on with the purchase and let us know if you have any other questions :) cheers steve
  10. Gotcha now Kev. That makes more sense. Sorry for the confusion. Parts are about right for price :) and that's about the right price for labour is say. cheers steve
  11. Glad I could help Abby :) if it all checks out then yes it sounds a good deal to me. Why is the owner selling? Also make sure all electrical items work as they can be expensive to fix. Well it depends on how deep the scratches are. If they are in the bonnet and front bumper then I wouldn't bother getting them sorted as they'll just come back due to stones and road debris. Othr than that I'd get any other looked at. Obviously most expensive option is a body shop but you do have other companies such as chips away etc. To be fair sometimes paintwork improves just with a very good buff and polish :) cheers steve
  12. Welcome to the forum Nigel :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) you have a very nice speced a6! When you get a chance feel free to post some pics :) cheers steve
  13. Hey Abby, welcome to the forum :) on the look of it I would say it is SE spec. Iv just had a look on auto trader and all similar cars are at least £1000 more with similar mileage, colour, age etc. I'm assuming it's a private seller? What you can do is ask if you can get an independent inspection carried out. Companies such as the AA or RAC can do this. If the seller is reluctant or refuses then I would argue they or the car has something to hide. Also check the service history to make sure it has full history. You can ring Audi with the reg and vin number and they should be able to tell you what work it's had done at any main dealer. I believe these engines have a timing chain instead of a cambelt And these should last the life of the car. But check that the engine is running smoothly as replacing the timing chain is an expensive job (approx £1000) also you can do a dvla mot check to see what advisories or mot failures the car has had. This will also give you the mileage to see if it's consistent. Heres the link: https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status Hope iv helped :) cheers steve
  14. Have to agree with you Gareth, £160 is far too cheap for a cambelt and waterpump replacement. Cheapest I saw when I was at Volkswagen was £400. This engine is a cambelt btw. And again your right the main dealers do have offers for cambelt and water pump changes. Cheers Steve
  15. Welcome to the forum Martin :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) With regard to your sound system, I would be very surprised if your Audi has any form of phone connectivity to be honest. But the radio you've put in the van sounds good! You get loads of features and not bad for £120. And let's face it most things come from china nowadays! The only problem you'll have is; installing it in theba6 will mean you loose your sat nav. But I tell you now replacing the standard radio is not cheap! I have the symphony radio in mine and when it started playing up I enquired about replacing it. It was going to cost £400 (new) for the radio and it was on a 2 week back order! Thankfully it started to work again after the battery was disconnected. in terms of your key, you'd be looking at £300 for a replacement, although iv never tried to replace a key from anywhere but a main dealer. i also have to salute you for your purchase. In my opinion a6 c5 allroad is for me one the best Audis ever made! :) which engine have you got? And have you got any pics of your allroad? I'm sure like me, other members would love to see them :) cheers steve
  16. Welcome to the forum Kev :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) if it's due to cambelt and water pump change I hope you got this knocked if the price? Also if the car has been serviced at Audi you can ring them and find out what work it's had done :) cheers steve
  17. Welcome to the forum Reiss :) sorry to hear about the crash but it sounds like you were very lucky! My dad had a similar incident in an a3 and again he walked away unscathed. They are built like tanks and glad your getting another a3 :) let us know how you get on with your new a3 when you get it :) cheers steve
  18. Deffo! But to be fair I do feel the government are partially to blame. They are almost expecting cars to produce not pollution at all which is not possible.
  19. Hi Richard, sorry to hear of your predicament :/ i worked in a Volkswagen service department and saw cars come in with dpf and egr issues and often couldn't have the emissions recall done. I do hope the dealership checked the car computer for faults prior to doing the recall?! I do agree that this should not have happened on a car with 15k miles! I would expect some form of good will from Audi with regard to the repair. Keep us updated on how you get on. Cheers steve
  20. Couldn't agree more Trevor! But to be fair they came clean and admitted it! Now the thing that ran through my mind; was Volkswagen being blackmailed about it hence why they came clean? I do wonder if this guy is being used as a scapegoat. As you have to wonder why all the head honchos haven't been arrested yet!
  21. Or what about renault's liquid yellow?
  22. Here is a bold suggestion.... audi AMETHYST metallic! Quite a rare colour i believe
  23. thars not bad at all! :)
  24. Couldn't agree more! I hate waiting! The wait will be worth it though! ;)
  25. As the title says, it's appeared fro m the BBC the first arrest has been made in relation to the emissions scandal. Heres the article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-40533030 cheers Steve
