  1. Hi Gareth, I find the merc seats very comfortable. But like I say you'd struggle fitting 5 people in the a class with the Amg sports seats fitted. My dad has a e class and I too find that comfortable especially as we do a 8 hour trip to Northern Ireland each year. In comparrison I found the a 3 seats less comfortable and did have some back ache on a 2 and half/3 hour journey from Leicester to Luton airport. But to be fair I do suffer from back issues (after causing damage to it). Cheers Steve
  2. Welcome to the club Paul :) I would have to agree with Bradley and don't think the a7 is an old mans car! :)
  3. Sorry I didn't mean 4 matic, I meant mercs auto box! Audis auto box is better slightly.
  4. Your welcome :) I find the mercs interior nicer. But if you have the sport interior then carrying 5 people can be a struggle. and if your comparing the Audi s tronic (sister to vw dsg) and the mercs 4 Matic then the Audi gearbox is better. And i don't believe merc do a 4 wheel drive system on the a class but I could be wrong. Both are nice cars but I would have the merc. I speak from experience by the way :)
  5. Pains for me to say it but I find the merc the nicer car and nicer drive
  6. Welcome to the club! I too am also new :) nice Audi btw :)
  7. Just curious, does anyone know what makes the A6 c5 limited edition so special? (Besides the wheels) pic taken from eBay Just to add I'v found out the wheels are BBS RC cheers Steve
  8. Your safe bet would be grey. My dad had a normal a3 in white and it was a company car. The problem with white is that eventually it will become unpopular again whereas grey is always a safe bet and looks nice :)
  9. Is it manual or auto? Could be an issue with the gearbox. What revs does it do it most? As trever said best thing to do is get it plugged into a diagnostic computer
  10. Welcome Helen (from a fellow newbie!). What Audi do you have? :)
  11. Very wise choice to convert your allroad to 7 seats :) iv got a regular A6 with the feature. Not meaning to tell you how to suck eggs but you'll need rear seats, seat belts and mounts, floor mounts for the seats and belts, boot side trim which includes cup holders. I believe the seats were only available in light grey cloth and I know the cost new for the conversion was approx £1700 in the pics you should sea the seatbelt part numbers hope that helps :)
  12. Hello David, I too am new to the club. lovely looking a4 cab you have there! Hope you had the roof down at the weekend just gone! :) 61k miles is low! Is it fsh? Cheers Steve
  13. Thanks Bradley! She's still going strong and in good health despite the high mileage:)
  14. Hi Trevor, thanks for your reply. You read it right 320k and still going strong! The 7 seats have been very useful for the family and at the time my dad didn't want a people carrier!
  15. Hello all, I'm new to the club and own an Audi A6 c5 se estate which my dad bought new in 2002. She has the 2.5tdi engine which has covered Just over 320,000 miles on the original engine and gearbox and which never been rebuilt. It also has the 7 seat conversion and was featured in Car Mechanics magazine in February 2017 :) And I'm looking forward to getting to some meets soon :) cheers Steve
