No worries Fraser :) to be honest it's always better to stretch your budget to get the car you truly want! What colour scheme did you go for in the end? And what engine did you choose? I'm not suprised your excited! I'm slightly envious! Would be great to see you at the shows and display your a8 :) cheers Steve

Sorry you've had bad luck with the dealer but I would have to agree with you, it's highly unlikely to be a mechanical issue as both motors and switches are working normally. Hope it gets sorted soon cheers Steve

To be honest Mark I wouldn't bother having it done and It's not compulsory for it to be done. I say that as iv worked in a Volkswagen service department. On most cars it was just a software update but on certain engines certain parts had to be added such as vibration dampers. The reason why I say not is because before the emissions update is done, a diagnostic check has to be completed. And from a diagnostic check you could be given horrible news that your car needs a new egr valve and cooler even if the car is running fine with no lights on the dash. If that makes sense. This was all too common at Vw. The emissions update cannot be completed if there are issues with the egr. On the other hand if you do have it done you should get a certificate to show its been completed which you can show the next owner when you come to sell the vehicle. Hope iv helped cheers Steve

Indicator & Tail Light problem(LED replacement)
Steve Q replied to WelshSue's topic in Audi A6 (C5) Forum
I know the front bulbs are tricky to replace and the air box needs removing so in order to get at the holder. You shouldn't have to remove the headlights. The problem you have is that the bulb holders weren't designed for led bulbs and as you rightly pointed out you would need load resistors. Sorry i can't be of any more help. Cheers Steve -
No worries Dan, I appreciate it's along way for you to travel. If you come across any events out your way than feel free to share it. We will be more than happy to rally some members as I know there are other members in Scotland :) cheers Steve

Welcome to the forum :) sorry to hear your having issues. My number one recommendation would be to take it back to where it was serviced as the issues only occurred after it had been there. Cheers Steve

NEWBIE (Audi A3 2.0 TDI Sport (WHITE SMOKE) HELP
Steve Q replied to AudiMickey's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
Welcome to the forum Mickey, sorry to hear about your a3 issues. I think Dan has summed it up well. Hope it gets sorted soon cheers Steve -
Hi Justin welcome to the forum :) if it were me I would stick with the tyres that are already fitted. I say that as you already know they are quiet which is already a good thing. Michelins are good and iv heard Goodyear eagle f1 are good. And I don't see it to be a problem to put the fronts on the back as you have Quattro but your local tyre specialist will be able to advise otherwise. Also if you've been to France recently then feel free to write a road trip review with your hints and tips. I'm sure URL be useful for other members :) oh and if you would like to display your q7 at any up and coming events with us then just let us know :) We are trying to get enough cars for VAG Tuner Live which is happening at Donington park on Sunday 16th July. Cheers Steve

Welcome to the forum Jonny :) sorry to hear your predicament. I'm assuming you have the 2.0tdi? If so, my dad has the 2.0tdi Vw Passat (66 plate) and he is getting into the high 40s low 50s with mpg but he has the car computer set to the eco mode. he was getting those figures pretty much straight away. To put your mpg into comparison my 2002 a6 2.5tdi is getting in the mid 30s for mpg. I would deffo get Audi to have a look and plug the car into a diagnostic machine cheers Steve
